The Preseason All State Session I was held on February 10, 2019 at the Virginia Sports complex. over 75 players from around the Commonwealth attended in our first session of what ended up being well over 160 total participants of our top event of the winter. We continue our player analysis from the event with the pitcher position.

Gunner Canary RHP Riverside 2019
6-foot-3, 175-pound long projectable frame that still has some filling out to do. Starts with a small rocker step to the side from the windup moving into a high balance point gathered over the rubber and moving toward home with a down and out approach driving off the backside. Shoulders are uphill moving down the mound and lands on line. Longer arm circle reaching back and releasing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball showed some run and carry through the zone sitting at 82-84, touching 85. Curveball worked at 73-74 with solid arm speed and a 11/5 shape. Curveball has the makings of a swing and miss pitch. Changeup showed hard late life being thrown with fastball intent at 76-78 mph. Is going to make for a very nice arm at the next level as he has 2 solid secondary pitches and continues to grow into a promising frame which should be a sign of more velo down the road.
Josue Cumba 2B/RHP Potomac 2019
Athletic thin frame standing at 5-10, 158-pounds. On the mound works with a slow controlled tempo and gets to a consistent balance point striding closed at landing. Arm circle is longer, but showed some arm speed getting through from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball had some nice arm side run and sat at 83-85 mph. Curveball showed a 10/4 shape with solid arm speed at 69-71 mph. Changeup had nice arm speed and showed some fade at 73-76 mph. Ran an impressive 3.85 Home-1st. Switch hitter, hitting from the right side starts in a upright stance with a small toe tap to stride landing slightly closed. Hands load back and are short to the ball with some uphill tilt to the swing and a high finish. From the left side starts in a slightly open stance striding on line with a toe tap landing on line. Barrels seems to be quicker getting through the zone from the left side and more comfort in the swing. Showed a line drive swing working all parts of the field with an exit velo of 77 mph.
Zach Stanko 3B/SS Walsingham Academy 2019 (Longwood)
Strong powerful frame at 6-foot-2, 214-pounds. Upright open stance with a pronounced leg kick landing slightly closed. Hands load back with some rhythm, bat is quick to the zone, and showed some uphill tilt to the swing path with pull-side tendency. Lower half finishes completely and exit velocity was 104 mph. Has some no doubt juice in the swing with strong hands and bat speed to match. Smooth on approach, presents glove out front, average arm circle, quick arm speed, and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Infield velocity was 86 mph. Feet active on approach from the outfield with a quick exchange throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Impressive arm strength with a 92 mph velocity from the outfield. Home-1st time was 4.16. Starts with a side step to a solid gathered balance point over the rubber. Backside leads the way down the mound landing on line. Shoulders and hips are slightly elevated and gets good usage out of the lower half. Average arm circle with quick arm speed from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was at 85-88 mph with carry through the zone. Curveball sat at 72-74 with tight and hard 11/5 shape. Had feel for the changeup at 74-78 mph and it had late arm side fade to it.
2020
Nathaniel Mack RHP Tabb 2020
Long projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 160-pounds. Has room to add strength and weight to an already lively and electric frame. Side step to start the delivery moving to a high balance point before the hips lead the way down the mound. Shoulders uphill and lands slightly closed at foot strike. Arm action is longer, but showed some arm speed and released from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 82-83 and had carry through the zone. 2-seam fastball showed distinct arm side run. Curveball had tight break with 11/5 shape and sat at 71-73 mph with feel. Changeup had present arm speed and sat at 75-78 mph. Possesses a frame and ability that should be to add some velo as he adds strength.
Brandon Parks LHP Bethel 2020
5-foot-11, 175-pound athletic frame. Hits from the left side with an upright square stance with hands set high. Small leg lift to striding on line, hands make small load with a bat wrap, swing is flat and quick with line drive tendencies, stays on through extension, and lower half finishes completely. Head is silent throughout and displayed solid balance in the swing. Exit velo was 87 mph. Quiet controlled movements on approach, receives ball out front, and showed a clean exchange to a short quick three-quarter arm action at 87 mph. Home-1st time was 4.21. Low effort delivery with solid balance point before driving off of the backside towards the plate. Shoulders slightly uphill and landing on line. Arm circle is short and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot falling towards the third base side at finish. Fastball was firm through the zone at 80-82. Breaking ball had a tight late slider-esque break and Parks showed feel for it. The breaking ball sat at 64-67 mph. Changeup showed some late diving action at 67-71 mph.
Trent Jones OF/RHP Cape Henry 2020
Long athletic frame standing 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. Ran a quick 3.82 Home-1st. Hits from the right side with a slightly crouched wider base. Stance starts open and strides in closed with a small leg lift. Hands load back with rhythm and shows a strong hitting position at touch down. Hands fire through the zone with some strength and quickness, bat path is uphill, uses a high two hand finish, and lower half finishes completely. Exit velo was 87 mph. Works low on approach with active feet, solid glove presentation, and a longer arm action. Has some arm speed throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot with an outfield velocity of 84 mph. Mechanics have some pace starting with a small side step delivery. Gets the lower half going early with shoulders slightly uphill and hips level as he moves towards home. Lands closed at foot strike with an arm recoil on finish. Displayed ability to get on top of a fastball that sat at 80-83 mph. Curveball showed 10/4 breaking action and appeared to have feel for it. Solid arm speed on both offspeed pitches with the curveball sitting at 67-68 and changeup showing some downward action at 73-76 mph.
2021
Dylan Bowen RHP/1B Prince George 2021
Big strong projectable frame at 6-foot-4, 215-pounds and still has some room for growth. On the mound Bowen showed a small rocker step to a consistent balance point keeping hands low throughout. Hands break low and move to a bigger arm circle moving down the mound with shoulders uphill. Big stride down the mound landing on line and throws from an over the top arm slot with a slight recoil on finish. Fastball sat between 81-83 touching 84 and showed some explosion through the zone. Had arm speed on the offspeed pitches throwing the curveball at 64-67 and changeup at 72-74. Curveball had a tight harder break with a 11/5 shape. Athletic on line stance at the plate with a toe tap to stride. Hands stay close at load and have minimal load back. Hips fire first and lower half shows some aggression throughout the swing. Swing is short to the ball and path has some uphill tilt. Exit velocity was 90 mph and showed the ability to hit for power. Defensively feet are active on approach and solid glove presentation to catch. Clean exchange to a small arm circle throwing from an over the top slot. Feet worked around the bag and showed a positional velocity of 83 mph. Home-1st time was 4.52.
Konner Eaton OF/LHP Prince George 2021
Athletic projectable frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Side to side rocker step to start his windup getting to a consistent balance point. Engages the lower half early and gets down the mound well. Lands on line at finish and consistently stays in line to the plate. Arm was pretty clean and showed some arm speed throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball showed carry through the zone at 80-82 mph. Curveball had a tight 1/7 shape at 69-71. Slider was 70-72. Changeup showed some late fade and present arm speed being thrown at 72-74. All offspeed played well off the fastball and showed intent on all three secondary pitches. Athletic slightly crouched setup at the plate from the right side. Stance starts square with a knee to knee leg lift landing on line. Loads the front shoulder closed with a slight wrap and bat is quick and flat to the ball with an uphill finish. Lower half finishes completely and exit velo was 83 mph on the day. Had one of the more impressive arms from the outfield posting a positional velocity of 87 mph. Feet were active on approach with solid glove presentation. Arm action is longer, but showed solid arm speed getting it through from a high three-quarter arm slot. Home-1st time was 4.75.
Josiah Harrison OF/RHP Clover Hill 2021
Athletic projectable 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame that looks to add good weight and strength. Delivery has some pace and athleticism to it gathering over the rubber at a high consistent balance point. Lower half gets involved early, head stays centered moving down the mound with balance, and shoulders have slight elevation. Lands slightly closed at foot strike and falls to first base side post release. Arm circle has a slight hitch when it gets behind him, but showed plenty of arm speed getting it through at an over the top arm slot. Fastball showed carry through the zone at 80-84 mph. Curveball was tight and hard with 11/5 shape sitting at 67-69 mph. Changeup was 70-72 mph. Home-1st time was 4.26. Open narrow upright stance striding forward landing on line with a slight bat wrap on load with minimal hand movement. Hand and bat strength getting through the zone with uphill tilt and an exit velocity of 87 mph showing some potential for gap to gap power. Aggressive attacking the ball defensively and moved through catch with pace. Clean exchange throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot with quick arm speed and a positional velocity of 87 mph.
Garret Kangas RHP Carlisle 2021
Solid athletic frame at 6-foot, 180-pounds. Has added some good weight and looks stronger than the lsat time we saw him. Closed off setup, repeatable mechanics, pitching primarily out of the stretch with hands set low. Delivery shows effort and intent with a solid balance point before moving down the mound landing slightly closed. Short, quick arm action throwing from a submarine slot. Fastball had arm side run at 75-77 mph and a slight arm recoil on finish. Curveball came out of the same slot at 65-66 mph with a 10/4 shape. Changeup had late fade with arm speed at 70-72 mph. Does a nice job throwing three pitches with feel from a tough slot showing an advanced approach on the mound.
Ethan Ketron LHP/OF Abingdon 2021
Long projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 165-pounds. On the mound shows a smooth low effort delivery with a quick arm throwing out of a three-quarter arm slot. Shoulders and hips are slightly elevated moving down the mound landing slightly closed at foot strike. Fastball showed life through the zone and arm side run at 78-81. Curveball had 1/7 shape with armspeed at 62-66 mph. Changeup had fade and present arm speed throwing it at 67-73 mph. Home-1st time was 4.46. Upright open stance striding forward and on line. Hands load back with rhythm and a slight bat wrap. Swing has a flat path with an uphill finish staying through the ball on contact. Exit velocity was 86 mph. Active feet on approach working behind the ball and through it with solid glove presentation. Clean exchange to a longer arm action with average arm speed throwing from a three quarter arm slot. Outfield velocity was 77 mph.
Ed Wagner SS/RHP Highland School 2021
Long projectable frame at 6-foot-5, 200-pounds. Side step delivery to a consistent balance point and showed repeatable mechanics. Hips and shoulders uphill moving down the mound and landing on line. Average arm circle with solid arm speed and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 81-85 and showed carry through the zone as there is more left in the tank. Curveball had depth with a 11/5 break at 69-70 mph and showed feel. Changeup had arm side fade at 69-71 mph. Square athletic stance with a small knee to knee leg lift landing on line. Hands load back with some rhythm and bat is quick to the hitting zone with a flat bat path. Swing showed gap to gap potential with some present power and an exit velocity of 92 mph. Home-1st time was 4.31 and showed some athleticism for his size. Hands were soft at the catch and feet were active on approach. Clean exchange with a short arm action and above average arm speed throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot at 88 mph.
2022
Jacob Miller-Bopp 2B/RHP Walsingham Academy 2022
Solid athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 160-pounds. Hits from the right side with an upright slightly open stance, hands load with rhythm to a slight bat wrap, and lands on line. Bat is quick to the zone with a flat path and an uphill finish. Showed some gap to gap potential with power. Lower half finishes with some aggression and the exit velo was 87 mph. Pre-contact prep hop with active feet on approach and tend to settle early pre-catch. Fields out front with a quick clean exchange at center. Arm action is short and quick throwing from a three-quarter arm slot across the infield at 79 mph. Home-1st was 4.45. Simple footwork in the delivery getting to a consistent balance point. Has a bit of drop and drive to the delivery getting down the mound in line with home plate. Shoulders are level and lands on line. Average arm circle throwing with some effort from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 77-81. Showed feel for the curveball. The curveball showed depth at a steeper 11/5 break sitting at 64-65 mph. Slider sat at 68-69 and backed out of the hand at times, but had some arm speed to be another weapon for Miller-Bopp down the road. Changeup showed late fade and fastball intent at 70-71 mph. Interesting prospect to follow of the next year or so as he continues to grow and add strength.

Standing at 6-foot, 155-pounds with a thin athletic frame with room to add some strength. On the mound starts with a small rocker step to a high consistent balance point with level shoulders moving down the mound. Lands on line at foot strike and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 78-81 mph and showed some carry through the zone. Had a solid feel for the curveball sitting at 62-67 mph with 11/5 shape and looked to be a nice secondary pitch. Changeup sat at 72-74 mph. Upright slightly open stance with a small leg lift to load with hands moving back with some rhythm. Lands on line and showed a short bat path to the ball with uphill tilt to the swing. Swing showed balance throughout with some pull side tendency. Exit velocity was 80 mph. Nice actions defensively. Gets around the ball with active feet and soft hands on reception gathering them to center quickly with a clean exchange. Longer arm action throwing from a low three-quarter arm slot across the field at 77 mph. Ran a 4.45 Home-1st time.
Tyler Brocato OF/RHP W.T. Woodson 2020
Athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 140-pounds. Ran a 4.53 Home-1st. Defensively feet are active on approach with a solid glove presentation to catch. Exchange is clean moving to a long arm action with shoulders uphill on hand break throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Outfield velocity was 80 mph. Slightly open athletic stance with a small leg lift landing slightly closed. Hands load back with a slight wrap. Bat path is slightly uphill with a high two hand finish and showed some gap to gap potential. Swing maintained balance throughout and head stayed behind ball at contact. Exit velocity was 79 mph. On the mound showed a small rocker step to leg lift. Had a strong balance point gathered over the rubber before moving towards the plate. Shoulders are level as he moves towards the plate landing slightly closed. Arm action is longer and throws from a three-quarter arm slot with low effort. Fastball was 71-73 mph. Curveball showed 10/4 shape and sat at 64-66 mph. Changeup had some late fade to it at 65-68 mph and was thrown with fastball arm speed.
Zackary Chadwell RHP/1B Hickory 2021
Big strong projectable frame standing 6-foot-4, 205-pounds. Left handed hitter starting in a slightly open athletic stance with a slight leg lift to stride. Lands on line and hands load down and back with a slight bat wrap. Strong hands and flat bat path getting through the zone with an uphill two handed finish. Lower half finishes completely and head stays quiet throughout with solid balance. Exit velocity was 90 mph. Defensively showed soft hands on reception gathering to the center. Clean exchange to a longer arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Was 81 mph across the field. Home-1st time was 4.66. On the mound showed a rhythmic pace in the delivery moving to a slight drop and drive moving towards the plate. Shoulders slightly uphill and closed moving forward down the mound landing closed at foot strike. Arm circle was a little longer but showed good arm speed getting it through throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat between 79-81 and displayed some ability to work downhill. Curveball was tight and hard with 11/5 shape and looked to be a solid secondary pitch. Curveball was thrown at 71-73 mph. Changeup had some arm side fade to it and was thrown with intent at 71-73 mph.
Blake Cuddington 1B/RHP Highland 2021
Big strong frame at 5-foot-11, 230 pounds. On the mound pitched primarily from the stretch. Consistent balance point before moving down the mound with shoulders level and closed. Lands closed at foot strike with a longer arm circle throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 79-81 mph and showed some arm side run at times. Curveball had a tight 12/6 shape and sat at 68-69 mph. Slider was hard at 70-73 with present arm speed and a late 11/5 break. Stance is open and upright hitting from the right side. Hands show some rhythm and load back with a slight bat wrap. Small pick up and put down to striding on line. Displayed ability to pull hands in and get through the zone quick with some uphill tilt with an exit velocity of 86 mph. Active feet on approach with solid glove presentation catching ball out front. Short arm action throwing from a three-quarter arm slot across the field at 77 mph. Home-1st time was 4.77.
Tyler Day OF/LHP Manteo (NC) 2021
5-foot-11, 180-pound sold frame. Athletic slightly open stance hitting from the left side. Hands are direct and load back and slightly away on trigger. Strides forward landing slightly open with a small pick up and put down. Quick flat bat path to contact with a slightly uphill finish. Lower half finishes with some violence and maintains some balance throughout. Exit velocity was 74 mph. Feet are active on approach, catches the ball out front, and uses a clean exchange. Longer arm circle and throws from a low three quarter arm slot at 78 mph. Home-1st time was 4.31. On the mound showed a small rocker step to balance point and moved forward with more of an up-down-out approach with minimal effort in the delivery. Shoulders are closed and slightly uphill as Day moves towards the plate. Lands closed at foot strike and finishes in a solid fielding position. Fastball showed some arm side run at times and sat at 72-77 mph. Curveball had 1/7 shape with a bigger break at 62-64 mph. Changeup had solid arm speed and was thrown at 64-68 mph.
Tanner Drewry OF/2B/RHP Prince George 2021
Thin athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. Athletic open stance at the plate with hands relaxed and show some flow. Hands load back with some rhythm and uses a small toe tap to stride landing on line. Bat gets on plane early and stays through the hitting zone. Good use of the lower half and finishes it completely with some balance. Exit velo was 80 mph. Works behind the ball on defense with active feet on approach. Exchange is clean and moves to a longer arm circle throwing from a three-quarter arm slot at 79 mph. Home-1st time was 4.53. On the mound started with a small rocker step with a high balance point and gathered over the rubber. Shoulders were level moving down the mound and landed slightly open at foot strike. Arm circle was fairly small throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 71-73 mph and worked downhill at times. Curveball showed a tight 11/5 shape and sat at 60-61 mph. Changeup was thrown at 67-68 with some late fade and showed arm speed and intent.
Ryan Dudak RHP Loudoun Valley 2020
Solid 6-foot-1, 195-pound frame. From the windup showed a small rocker step and low balance point. Mechanics had some pace and rhythm to them with shoulders being flat to slightly downhill and a down and out shorter stride to foot strike landing on line. Arm action is short and deceptive with some whip at the end. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot and the fastball worked at 75-77 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape at 65-67 mph and the slider was later breaking at 61-62 mph. Changeup appeared to be a split finger change at 62-64 mph with some late diving action and looked to be a solid secondary out pitch.
Derek Furr OF/LHP Westfield 2020
5-foot-11, 170-pound solid frame. Square stance hitting from the left side with simple mechanics. No stride, just a simple heel pick up to put down with hands making a short load back with a slight wrap. Hips fire first and showed some nice usage of the lower half. Path was quick to the ball with extension through contact and an exit velocity of 85 mph. In the outfield showed short active footwork on approach catching the ball between the feet before exchanging cleanly at center. Arm action was clean and threw from a three-quarter arm slot at 80 mph. Home-1st time was 4.21. Low effort mechanics with a small rocker step to a consistent balance point moving down the mound with shoulders level. Lands on line and finishes in a solid fielding position. Arm is clean and quick throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 78-81 with some arm side run. Showed feel for the curveball and had 1/7 shape and sat at 59-62. Changeup showed some late arm side fade and solid armspeed at 65-69 mph.
Jackson Gimbel RHP/OF Highland School 2021
6-foot, 180-pound athletic projectable frame. Hits from the right side with an athletic slightly open stance. Toe tap to landing on line at stride. Hands load back with a slight arm bar. Swing initiates early and bat path is flat with a high finish. Exit velocity was 81 mph. Feet are active on approach with solid glove presentation and eyes following to the catch. Clean exchange to a longer arm circle throwing from a three-quarter arm slot at 83 mph. Home-1st time was 4.38. On the mound initiated the delivery with a small rocker step to a consistent balance point leading with the lower half and shoulders slightly elevated. Lands on line at foot strike. Long arm circle, but is ready to throw when the foot gets down. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a fastball that sits at 79-81 mph. Curveball had a bigger break changing multiple planes with a 11/5 shape sitting at 65-67 mph with feel. Changeup had nice late action with fastball intent and sat at 69-71 mph.
Garret Huffman 3B/RHP Rockbridge Co. 2021
Solid frame standing at 6-foot, 170-pounds. Slightly open athletic stance striding closed after a knee to knee pickup with hands loading slightly down. Bat path is short to the ball and short through extension showing a pull side tendency. Lower half finished completely and Huffman posted an exit velo of 85 mph. Approach was direct with a wider base at catch. Hands received out front to a clean exchange with glove pat. Arm action was short and threw from a high three-quarter arm slot at 76 mph across. Home-1st time was 4.46. On the mound the windup started with a side step to rocker with a big coiled leg lift behind the rubber. Showed some deception, especially at balance, hiding the ball well. Shoulders elevated slightly while moving down the mound landing on line. Delivery has some effort with a long arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Curveball changed multiple planes and showed some depth at 62-64 with 11/5 shape. Changeup was 70-71 mph.
Jeremiah Jenkins LHP/1B St. Vincent Pallotti 2021
6-foot-3, 215-pound strong projectable frame. Athletic slightly upright stance that strides forward with a quick direct move to the pitcher. Hands stay close and do not show much of a load, therefore swing is short and flat getting to the ball with a consistent high one hand finish. Lower half rotates and finishes with some violence and swing finishes with some balance. Exit velo was 82 mph. Fields out front with a clean exchange and glove tap to a three-quarter arm slot and throws across at 76 mph. Home-1st time was 4.63. Smooth low effort delivery. High balance point gathered over the rubber before moving towards the plate with shoulders closed and uphill landing closed at foot strike. Arm circle is small and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 79-82 with some arm side run. Curveball showed 1/7 shape with some depth and swing and miss potential and sat at 59-61 mph. Changeup had some late life down at 64-69 mph. Cutter was 73-79 mph.
Tyler Kaltreider 3B/RHP Highland School 2021
Thin projectable frame at 6-foot, 150-pounds. Square stance hitting from the right side with a rhythmic knee to knee load to striding slightly closed. Hands are set back and end up in an arm bar before starting the swing. Bat path is a bit longer with some uphill tilt and a high upright one hand finish. Exit velocity was 81 mph. Direct path on approach fielding out front and pulling to center for a clean exchange. Longer arm circle throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot at 76 mph across the infield. Home-1st time was 4.64. Controlled pace in a low effort delivery with a high balance point gathered over the rubber. Uses a down and out stride towards the plate with shoulders uphill and landing slightly closed. Average arm circle throwing from a high three quarter arm slot with a fastball that showed some arm side run at 76-79 mph. Curveball sat at 62-64. Changeup showed some late downward movement at 66-70 mph.
Nick Lottchea OF/LHP Westfield 2021
Solid frame at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Hits from the left side with a square stance with a simple pick up and put down landing balanced and in an athletic position. Hands load back with rhythm to separation and bat path showed an uphill path and lower half finishes completely. Exit velocity was 82 mph. Active feet on approach receiving the ball quartered open with a step through to get back in line to throw. Arm circle is small throwing from a three quarter arm slot at 77 mph. Home-1st time was 4.33. Slower paced delivery with a slight pause at balance and a down and out movement home. Hands break early, small arm circle, normal effort, and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was at 76-77 mph. Curveball sat at 64-66 mph with 1/7 shape and feel around the zone. Threw a splitter at 68-69 mph with intent. Splitter had late dive and had feel for it.
Gardner Meeks RHP Norfolk Christian 2020
5-foot-9, 150-pound compact athletic frame. Pitches primarily from the stretch with weight set back. Pitches from two arm slots, a low three-quarter and a sidearm slot, showing feel for both. Slight drop and drive driving off of the backside towards home. Lands on line from both slots. Fastball sat at 78-80 and showed nice sinking action from the sidearm slot. Curveball had was tight and late sitting at 66-67 mph. Changeup was 66-68. Had a solid feel and command of the fastball from the sidearm slot and looked comfortable pitching there.
Raw projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. Slow controlled pace to the mechanics. Works tall at the balance point, loads lower half well, shoulders are level going down the mound, and lands slightly open. Arm action is longer and throws from an over the top arm angle. Fastball worked downhill at 73-75 and topped at 77 when the arm was on time. Curveball had 12/6 break, changing multiple swing planes, at 63-65 mph.

Young projectable frame at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds. From the windup has a solid balance point and repeatable mechanics. Down and out movement going towards the plate with level shoulders landing slightly closed. Arm circle is short with a clean arm action throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 68-70 with distinct arm side run. Curveball had 1/7 shape and Sipe showed feel for it at 56-58 mph. Changeup had fading action at 62-65 mph. Slightly open stance with a toe tap the stride landing on line. Hands are back and bat path is short to the ball with a flat line drive swing. Exit velocity was 71 mph. Feet were active on approach, fielded with solid glove presentation and soft hands, clean exchange to a short arm action with average arm speed and throws from a three-quarter arm slot at 66 mph. Home-1st was 4.87.
Lucas Sorenson OF/RHP West Springfield 2021
6-foot-1, 155-pound long projectable frame. Athletic slightly open stance striding in finishing slightly closed. Hands load back with some rhythm, bat path is flat with an uphill finish, and swing showed some pull-side tendency. Hips rotate with violence and exit velocity wsa 86 mph. Worked to get behind the ball and work through it in the outfield. Clean exchange to a longer arm action and throws from a three-quarter arm slot at 79 mph. Home-1st was 4.64. Controlled delivery with solid balance point and a glove pat hand break. Lower half gets Sorenson going down the mound and lands slightly closed at foot strike. Shoulders are slightly uphill and arm action is longer from a high three-quarter arm slot. Had fair command of the fastball that sat at 75-79 mph. Curveball showed 11/5 shape and sat at 65-67. Changeup showed present arm speed with some late fade at 67-70 mph.
Adam Verbanic RHP Landstown 2021
Projectable thin frame at 6-foot-2, 155-pounds. High balance point to delivery, gathered over rubber, and lands on line at foot strike. Shoulders are slightly elevated as he moves down the mound. Arm circle is short and throws from a low three-quarter arm slot with normal effort. Fastball was 72-76 and downhill with some sink. Curveball had a bigger break with a 11/5 shape at 60-62 mph. Slider sits at 62-66 mph.
