2024 Draft Spotlight

Ryan Waldschmidt, OF, Kentucky

A huge helium riser this season, Waldschmidt is now receiving first round consideration with the draft set to begin in less than two weeks. Recovering from a knee surgery, the Wildcat outfielder was nearly unstoppable once he returned to full health. His bat speed is explosive and he’s a plus runner with basestealing instincts, but it was his superior performance during SEC play that jolted his trajectory upward as he finished third in batting average in SEC conference only games at .405, just behind fellow first round prospects Christian Moore and Charlie Condon.
