Preseason All-State I
Solid frame standing at 6-foot, 170-pounds. Slightly open athletic stance striding closed after a knee to knee pickup with hands loading slightly down. Bat path is short to the ball and short through extension showing a pull side tendency. Lower half finished completely and Huffman posted an exit velo of 85 mph. Approach was direct with a wider base at catch. Hands received out front to a clean exchange with glove pat. Arm action was short and threw from a high three-quarter arm slot at 76 mph across. Home-1st time was 4.46. On the mound the windup started with a side step to rocker with a big coiled leg lift behind the rubber. Showed some deception, especially at balance, hiding the ball well. Shoulders elevated slightly while moving down the mound landing on line. Delivery has some effort with a long arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Curveball changed multiple planes and showed some depth at 62-64 with 11/5 shape. Changeup was 70-71 mph.
