Preseason All State Session I
Athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 140-pounds. Ran a 4.53 Home-1st. Defensively feet are active on approach with a solid glove presentation to catch. Exchange is clean moving to a long arm action with shoulders uphill on hand break throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Outfield velocity was 80 mph. Slightly open athletic stance with a small leg lift landing slightly closed. Hands load back with a slight wrap. Bat path is slightly uphill with a high two hand finish and showed some gap to gap potential. Swing maintained balance throughout and head stayed behind ball at contact. Exit velocity was 79 mph. On the mound showed a small rocker step to leg lift. Had a strong balance point gathered over the rubber before moving towards the plate. Shoulders are level as he moves towards the plate landing slightly closed. Arm action is longer and throws from a three-quarter arm slot with low effort. Fastball was 71-73 mph. Curveball showed 10/4 shape and sat at 64-66 mph. Changeup had some late fade to it at 65-68 mph and was thrown with fastball arm speed.

Brocato is 5-9 with a lanky frame that has plenty of projection left, he hits from the right side from a wide athletic stance. Short stride on line, smooth load back, maintains balance during swing. Short hand path to ball, line drive swing works gap to gap, exit velocity was 70. In the outfield, gets behind the ball and works through it as he fields, clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, outfield velocity was 79. Has speed, ran a 6.88 60 yard dash. On the mound, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a longer free arm action and normal effort. Shoulders are closed off as strides out, creates deception, athletic finish. Fastball was 75-77, touching 78 with sink to it. Curveball was 71-72 with good armspeed and 11/5 break to it. Changeup was 72-74 with good armspeed and heavy sink.

Brocato is 5-9 with a lanky frame with some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open athletic stance. Keeps toe down on stride, loads back with slight wrap. Hips rotate completely, good balance to lower half. Slightly uphill line drive swing, showed good approach working the middle of the field, exit velocity was 72. In the outfield, quick feet, works through ball well, fields with above average hands. Clean exchange, throws from three-quarters arm slot, short arm action with some looseness, outfield velocity was 78. On the mound, short arm action from a low three-quarters arm slot, arm action is free with normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands slightly closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 73-76 with some late sink. Change-up was 68-69 with fading action and some armspeed to it. Breaking ball was 66-68 with 10/4 action and some armspeed.

9.25.17:  Brocato is 5-8 with a lanky frame. Hits from the right side from a closed balanced stance. Leg kick stride closed, short load back, slight wrap, some rhythm. Hips rotate fully, some balance to swing. Short path to ball, level line drive swing, showed good approach working the middle of the field, exit velocity was 78. In the outfield, gets behind ball well and plays through it with above average hands, clean exchange, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot with a long, free arm action, outfield velocity was 74, showed some accuracy with his throws. Has quickness and speed, ran a 6.94 60 yard dash. On the mound, drop and drive delivery, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a shorter arm action that is free, normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders closed and level, lands closed with an athletic finish and some recoil. Fastball was 70-72 with late sink to it. Slider was 65 with good armspeed and 11/5 break. Change-up was 67-68 with good armspeed and hard sinking action to it.
