Long limbed projectable frame. Kaltreider showed two solid secondary offerings on the day and that allowed the fastball to play up a little from the 80-85 range it was on Saturday. The fastball had nice arm side run and he did a nice job running it back over the outer third. The breaking ball was his go to pitch. It varied shapes, starting with a slurvy 11/5 shape and then tightened up with more depth later into his start. He had four strikeouts on the day, all via the breaking ball. He used the changeup sparingly, but it may arguably be the pitch with the most potential in his arsenal. Hard arm side fade, present arm speed, and ability to work it to both sides of the plate can be a separator for a right handed arm.

Kaltreider has a very lanky frame with a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a quick arm action and easy effort. Fastball was 79-82, touched 84 once with some late run. Kept his velocity in the slide step. Curveball was with good armspeed and 11/5 action at 72, has a chance to be good.

Preseason All-State I
Thin projectable frame at 6-foot, 150-pounds. Square stance hitting from the right side with a rhythmic knee to knee load to striding slightly closed. Hands are set back and end up in an arm bar before starting the swing. Bat path is a bit longer with some uphill tilt and a high upright one hand finish. Exit velocity was 81 mph. Direct path on approach fielding out front and pulling to center for a clean exchange. Longer arm circle throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot at 76 mph across the infield. Home-1st time was 4.64. Controlled pace in a low effort delivery with a high balance point gathered over the rubber. Uses a down and out stride towards the plate with shoulders uphill and landing slightly closed. Average arm circle throwing from a high three quarter arm slot with a fastball that showed some arm side run at 76-79 mph. Curveball sat at 62-64. Changeup showed some late downward movement at 66-70 mph.
