The inaugural Prep Baseball Report Northern California Underclass Games will take place on Saturday, August 25th at John Smith Field, home of the Sacramento State Hornets. The games are a culmination of our Northern California Underclass Trials Series which attracted over over 80 players, all vying for an opportunity to be invited to the games.

The games will feature a workout in the morning for position players before heading into two modified sim games in the afternoon. We will get started promptly at 9:00 AM with batting practice before moving into a defensive workout. The rosters have been handpicked by our team of scouts who have evaluated all of these players either at our events or throughout the summer at various events/games.

Of the nearly 80 players participating in the games (CLICK HERE FOR THE SCHEDULE/DETAILS), many can be found in our rankings for their respective classes. The majority of these players remain uncommitted, giving college coaches in attendance plenty of players to evaluate heading into fall/winter conditioning workouts.

Here are a handful of players you can expect to see at the Underclass Games, but they aren't the only good ones who will be in attendance:

MIF/P Andrew Neil, 2020 Freedom HS - Saint Mary's commit. Left-handed hitting middle infielder with a sweet swing and good infield skills. Pitching has also started to blossom for him. Would be playing SS at Freedom HS if not for the presence of Kyren Paris.

RHP/MIF Treven Crowley, 2020 Hilmar HS - Perhaps the top overall player at the UC Trials, Crowley showed off an upper 80s fastball, good breaking ball and offensive/defensive talents too.

C Landon Wallace, 2020 Roseville HS - Athletic catcher who is also capable of playing a solid infield. Has been catching the eye of college coaches all summer at various events and in summer games.

OF Kenny DeCelle, 2020 Vacaville HS - Highly athletic player with plenty of development before he reaches his ceiling. Multi-sport athlete (exceptional basketball player) shows more and more baseball skill the more he plays.

3B/1B Jake Pina, 2020 Franklin HS - Was a starter and middle of line-up hitter as a soph for one of the top teams in N CA in 2018. Strong right-handed hitter with present pop now and plenty to come.

MIF Kobe Rolling, 2021 Wood HS - A multi-sport athlete (high level soccer player), Rolling displayed excellent defensive  footwork and a quick bat, along with ample energy for the game at the UC Trials.

RHP Jordan Gonzales, 2020 Christian Brothers HS - Impressed our scouts at Bay Area World Series last June. Big overhand curveball with bite and feel to go with a fastball up to 84 mph.

RHP/3B Isaac Ayon, 2020 Central HS - Saint Mary's commit. Big strong young player with two way talent, it's the fastball up to 88 and good slider that that has drawn the most attention to this point.

OF/IF Jason Booker, 2021 Rodriguez HS - A summer standout at the UC Trials and BAWS, Booker is a twitchy athlete with arm strength, a quick bat, multi-position versatility and plus speed.

INF Vinnie Bachelier, 2020 Capital Christian HS - Has had a good summer and been seen well, including at the UC Trials as a physical hitter with a good arm and abilities to play all over the infield.

RHP/1B Matthew McMahon, 2020 Cardinal Newman HS - Lanky right-hander has been steadily coming on, recently selected for N CA NTIS team. Feel of all pitches and the body is projectable.

C/1B Joseph Taddie, 2020 Leland HS - Taddie's had a good summer on the 'circuit' and been seen well by our scouts at both BAWS 2018 and in NCTB events. Pop times and his bat have shown up.

LHP/1B Jaron Nevarez, 2022 San Ramon Valley HS - One of the handful of 2022 grads in the event, Nevarez impressed us at NCTB underclass tourney with pitchability and two-way talent.

MIF Matty Fung, 2020 Serra HS - A speedy and wiry left-handed hitting middle infielder, Fung has a game that stands out to scouts looking for projectable athletes who have a feel for the game.

MIF Tyler Shaw, 2020 Serra HS - Shaw participated at the UC Trials and BAWS 2018. He's a steady fielder with a great feel for defense and a compact swing that allows him to make consistent contact.

RHP/1B Victor Martinez, 2020 Rodriguez HS - Certainly showed well at UC Trials, Martinez was up to 84 mph with a good looking body and delivery. Also swung the bat with authority. Quite interesting.

SS/OF Aidan Lawrence, 2020 California HS - Ran a 6.94 60 at the UC Trials and intrigued with bat speed and overall athleticism. Older brother Connor is a major D1 talent, perhaps Aidan will be too.
