Updated Class of 2023 Player Rankings (September)
The graduating class of 2023 is loaded with talent in the New England region. We are excited to share our rankings with you as we dive into the fall of 2021. We look forward to watching these young men grow and mature on and off the field.
Below we will take a look at “Who Is At The Top”, "The Risers", "The Sleepers" and the top uncommitted prospects by position.
Covering six states, New England is a prime area for legit baseball talent and now we would like to bring to you the 2023 Player Rankings.
Who is at the top?

Thomas White LHP / OF / Phillips Academy, Andover, MA / 2023Report: When looking at the 6-foot-4, 200-pound southpaw it is impossible to ignore his status as an outlier. Up to 98 mph in a recent outing at Fenway Park, the velocity comes easy for the long-limbed left-hander whose arm works freely to a ¾ slot, and it is scary to think that there appears to be MORE in the tank. The changeup saw the greatest advancement over the past year and profiles impressively well against the fastball with similar arm side life and sink. Should the slider make the same advancement over the next year-plus, White’s prospect status has a chance to be historical, especially coming out of the New England region. |

Hiro Wyatt RHP / 3B / The King School, CT / 2023Report: Wyatt is a right-hander headed to Duke. He punches in at the 2 spot. |

Zachary Johnston LHP / Greely, ME / 2023Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 2
Report: Johnston is headed to Maryland and comes in at number 3. The left-hander was impressive at the Area Codes out in Long Beach. The southpaw has plus stuff and leverage on the bump. |

Alex Clemmey LHP / 1B / Bishop Hendricken, RI / 2023Report: The long-limbed, 6-foot-4, 170-pound southpaw was up to 86 mph with a whippy left arm, and Trackman metrics (2362 RPM, 28+ BU) that were enticing enough to attract the eye of Vanderbilt where he committed in July after the New England Top Prospect Games. His ability to spin the baseball stands out, along with his projectable frame, and the aggressive athleticism that he utilizes to get down the mound provides for uncomfortable at-bats. |

James Raidt RHP / SS / King School, CT / 2023Report: Raidt, now a Duke recruit, shined at the Northeast Future Games where his clean right arm, and three-pitch repertoire stood out. The athletically-built, 6-foot-2, 170-pounder works 86-88 with much more on the way, and demonstrates feel for a tightly-spun breaking ball and faded changeup. Raidt looks the part of a starter at the next level, and should continue trending upwards as he fills out. |

Zachary Johnston LHP / Greely, ME / 2023Report: Johnston is headed to Maryland and comes in at number 3. The left-hander was impressive at the Area Codes out in Long Beach. The southpaw has plus stuff and leverage on the bump. |

Javar Williams OF / Tabor Academy, MA / 2023Report: A left-handed hitter, a plus runner, runs a 6.44. Line drive approach to the gaps, ton more in his game. Put together an impressive performance at the Future Games. Glides well in the outfield. Potentially a draft pick in a two years. One of the top uncommitted guys in the class. |

Alex Marot 3B / SS / Winchendon School, MA / 2023Report: 6-foot-2, 200-pound athletic mature frame. Above average feel at the dish and confidence at the plate. The right-handed hitter's 100 mph exit velocity ranks him 3rd at the event. Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled smooth load, then used a short stride. Bat speed is explosive above average, exhibits an uphill loose swing plane and high good extension on his finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Above average projectable showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 87 mph; had soft consistent hands, a clean exchange, and consistent athletic footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Some accuracy to the bases, used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Had a great event, hammering the baseball all week long. He is a legit middle of the order guy at the next level. |

Evan Blake 3B / SS / Taconic, MA / 2023Report: 6-foot-1, 205-pound athletic sturdy frame. Above average feel at the plate and advanced in the box, Blake recorded an exit velocity of 96 mph. Began in an athletic quiet stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride. Bat speed is above average explosive, uses a loose uphill swing plane and high finish. He produced loud contact and found lots of barrels. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Above average athletic while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 81 mph; had soft consistent hands, athletic fluid footwork, and a clean natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. Recorded a time of 7.03 in the 60-yard dash. Had 7 RBI, a grand slam and double at the Future Games, he turned in a great overall performance. |

Gabriel Pitts OF / SS / Worcester Academy, MA / 2023Report: 6-foot, 170-pound lean athletic frame. Above average projectable in the box, Pitts best exit velocity was 91 mph. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Has above average quick bat speed, uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contacts. Gap to gap approach. Above average projectable in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 76 mph; showed a clean natural exchange, soft consistent hands, and athletic fluid feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.39 60-yard dash. Had a great week at the event. He has legit foot speed and swung the bat extremely well at the Future Games. He is a high level player. |

Colin Dowdle RHP / St. Sebastians, MA / 2023Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 6
Report: 6-foot-1, 180-pound lean athletic build. Above average projectable on the mound, using a quick loose arm action he showed above average developing arm speed from a ¾ arm angle. Tall-and-fall up-tempo type pitcher and uses easy effort. During his delivery he displayed a consistent balance point, tall with in- line shoulders. Lands closed with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 87-88 mph; had arm side command and running action with heavy movement. Showed tight swing and miss action and glove side in the zone control on his sharp slider (77-79). His two inning outing at the Future Games was outstanding as he cruised, showing a wipe out slider and good command. He was more than impressive at the event and should garner high level attention moving forward in the recruiting process. |

Justin Higgins SS / RHP / St. Luke's, CT / 2023Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 3
Report: 6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic frame. Above average at the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity is 94 mph. (76.3 mph max bat speed/24.5 mph hand speed average). Starts in a wide stance with a controlled load, then uses a controlled stride. Has a flat swing plane, above average bat speed and good extension on his finish. Is able to create loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Above average showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 85 mph; has sure hands, a clean exchange, and athletic feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Recorded a time of 7.1 in the 60-yard dash. |
The Sleepers

Ryan Grundy 1B / OF / Dexter Southfield, MA / 2023Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 1
Report: 6-foot, 205-pound athletic mature frame. Above average projectable at the plate, Grundy was ranked 1st with an exit velocity of 99 mph. (73.64 mph bat speed average). (20.88 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth small load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed was explosive above average, displayed an uphill loose swing plane and high finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Above average fluid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; has a clean natural exchange, soft sure hands, and athletic developing feet. Laterally, movements were developing and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a very quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.25. Frontline recruit as the bat plays anywhere. |

Sean O'Leary 3B / RHP / Foxboro, MA / 2023Rankings StateRank: 22 / POS: 3
Report: 6-foot-1, 200-pound athletic mature build. Above average projectable in the box, O'leary recorded an exit velocity of 95 mph at the Future Games. Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth small load, then used a short stride. Bat speed is above average explosive, shows an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his high finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact during his BP at the Future Games. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Athletic projectable in the infield, he's been up to 82 mph across the diamond while showing a clean developing exchange, consistent developing feet, and soft consistent hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.35 this summer. Turned in a solid week at the Future Games, showing plus hand speed at the dish. The defense is solid as he is reliable. His best days are in front of him. |

Joshua Murphy LHP / OF / Lewiston, ME / 2023Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 5
Report: 5-foot-11, 185-pound athletic solid frame. Above average advanced on the mound, showed a ¾ arm angle and a short very quick arm action with quick developing arm speed. Up-tempo feel type pitcher and shows some effort. Showed consistent balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 83-84 mph; shows running action and control arm side in the zone with heavy movement. Threw his sharp changeup (74-74) with fading plus action and arm side around the zone command. Threw a 10/4 tight slider (74-76) with glove side control and swing and miss plus action. The outing was quick, clean and impressive. He flashed good life and command of the fastball. The slider is an above average college pitch right now. The change up showed fade and depth to it. His best days are in front of him at a high level in college. |

Kevin Milewski C / 1B / Notre Dame West Haven, CT / 2023Rankings StateRank: 26 / POS: 1
Report: 6-foot-4, 225-pound catching prospect. Advanced at the plate, Milewski put on a show during his batting practice capped with an exit velocity of 97 MPH, with a (74.17 MPH bat speed average) and (25.11 MPH hand speed average). He begins in a balanced, athletic stance with a controlled stride. His bat speed was evident while using an uphill path through the hitting zone. He stays on plane well through contact, creating carry. Behind the plate, he showed athleticism, a velocity of 77 MPH, with a pop time range of 2.04-2.09. His initial setup is staggered, with the glove set in the middle of the chest. As he transitions to throw, he shows sure hands, athletic smooth feet, and a clean transfer. In the 60-yard dash, he recorded a time of 7.09. |

William Gallagher OF / SS / Milton Academy, MA / 2023Rankings StateRank: 58 / POS: 9
Report: 6-foot, 160-pound lean athletic build. Above average projectable during batting practice, Gallagher clocked an exit velocity of 89 mph. (65.53 mph bat speed average). (21.57 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced wide stance with a small load, then used a small stride. Bat speed was above average, had an uphill loose swing plane and high finish. In the round he found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 80 mph; has soft consistent hands, athletic smooth feet, and a clean natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a loose quick arm action with a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.48. |
