Kellan Heney: LHP/OF, (2023) Governor's Academy, MA. 6-foot-3, 165-pound lean athletic frame. Above average projectable on the mound, showed above average developing arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle and a quick loose arm action. Drop-and-drive up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Has a consistent balance point and in line shoulders. Lands closed with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 82-83 mph; shows arm side command and running late action with sharp movement. Throws a 10/4 curveball (69-72) that shows glove side around the zone control and sweeping slurvy action. His changeup (70-72) had arm side control and fading late action. He was impressive in his two inning outing. The deception in the delivery is outstanding as he is tough to get clean swings off of. The secondary stuff is improving and expect a jump in velocity in the coming years as his arm is quick.

(22.94 mph hand speed average). Starts in a wide stance with a tight load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was quick, showed an uphill swing plane and high finish. Had loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Above average in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 83 mph; has sure hands, athletic feet, and a clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a very quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.0. Above average on the mound, showed above average arm speed, he had a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows some effort. Tall balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 79-80 mph; showed running action and command around the zone with tight movement. Pitching: Projectable. Up-tempo delivery, some effort. High ¾ arm angle, above average arm speed, quick arm action. Consistent balance point, in line shoulders, lands square, an athletic finish.

6-foot-2, 160-pound left-handed pitcher. The fastball sat 80-81 mph with good arm side action to the pitch. The spin pitch was 70-71 mph and this was the best I have seen it. It has a chance to be an out pitch with the addition of fastball hand speed to the pitch. The changeup was 74-75 mph and solid in shape. The delivery is online with the feet and a loose plus 3/4 slot. The lift is under control as he stays online with the catcher as he has minimal glove pull as he gets into foot strike. The arm is quick and clean. The addition of strength and weight gain will aid his development immensely.
6-foot-2, 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and pitcher. He ran a 7.03 sixty at the event. The approach in the outfield is online and athletic. He threw 77 mph to the plate during the outfield portion of the workout. The bat has an exit velocity of 84 mph. The setup is even in base and the front foot steps into the swing. The path is long to contact and he cuts off the finish after contact with the ball. The frame needs additional strength as he matures in age. On the mound, he showed better this time around. The fastball sat 79-80 mph and moves a tremendous amount on the way to the plate. The spin pitch is solid in shape, sitting 68-69 mph. The changeup moves the correct way, sitting 72-73 mph. The delivery is online with the feet and above 3/4 in slot. The direction of the top half is close as he needs to control the front side a bit longer into foot strike. The lift is repeated and the tempo is solid. I like his chances on the mound as he gets stronger.

The approach in the outfield is aggressive and online, he thew 76 mph during the outfield portion of the workout. The setup at the plate is even in base and he uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is low and he comes up and over to contact. The exit velocity was 84 mph. On the mound, the fastball sat 79-80 mph, with arm side action. There is more velocity coming as the arm is long and works. The spin pitch has a good shape to it, tilt and depth. The pitch sat 67-69 mph. The changeup was and is a work in progress. The delivery is online and the slot is loose and above 3/4. The lift is solid in tempo and he repeats his stride. The tracking can stay online longer as well. Look for him to blossom with the addition of strength and weight gain.
