Alex Marot: 3B/SS, (2023) Winchendon School, RI. West Virginia Commit, 6-foot-2, 205-pound mature athletic frame. Above average and  confident at the plate, the right-handed hitter's 105 mph exit velocity ranks him 1st at the event. (77.4 mph bat speed average). (27.2 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a wrapping load, then used a big leg kick. Bat speed was explosive, had an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Had loud contact and found lots of barrels. Aggressive approach. Above average in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 89 mph; showed soft twitchy hands, athletic feet, and a clean natural exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.98.  (Max spin ; Avg ).

Above average projectable showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 87 mph; had soft consistent hands, a clean exchange, and consistent athletic footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Some accuracy to the bases, used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Had a great event, hammering the baseball all week long. He is a legit middle of the order guy at the next level.

Body: 6-foot-2, 200-pound athletic mature frame.

Hit: (RHH) Above average and confident. Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled smooth load, then used a short stride. Explosive above average bat speed. High good extension on his finish, uphill loose swing. Aggressive gap to gap approach. 

Power: 100 mph exit velocity. Top 3 ev at the showcase. 

Defense:  (IF) Soft consistent hands, consistent athletic footwork, clean exchange. Above average projectable.  Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. 

Arm: 87 mph infield velocity. Loose arm action, high ¾ slot, some accuracy. 

Marot is a physical, talented 6-foot-2, 195 pound right-handed hitting infield prospect. The former Futures Gamer hits out of a slightly open stance, with the hands set above the back shoulder. Marot’s swing is impressive! He not only produced the highest exit velocity at this event at 100 MPH but showed advanced bat-speed. His path is slightly uphill, producing a lot of loud contact during his round. He stays balanced throughout and gets great extension through contact.

Defensively, Marot was 85 MPH on his throws across the diamond. His actions are athletic and he covers a lot of ground laterally. He transitions through each play nicely, getting himself in a direct line with his target and utilizing a short arm-swing to work the ball across the diamond. 

Marot was impressive at last summer’s Futures Games and he’s gotten better. He’s packed some additional muscle onto his projectable 6-foot-2 frame and it shows at the plate.

Future Games

6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed hitting infielder. He swung the bat well and competed all week. He ran a 7.28 sixty at the event. The approach in the infield is solid as the feet stay active and he moves through the ball. The arm has strength to it, as he threw 87 mph across the diamond during the infield portion of the workout. The bat has an exit velocity of 98 mph. The setup is even in base and he uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The hands work clean and he leans on the ball. The bat has a serious chance.

INF Velocity- 87 mph

6-foot-2, 195-pound,  strong physical athletic frame, already filling out, explosive actions, a twitchy athlete. A right-handed hitting corner infielder. At the plate, balanced approach, feet are even, shoulder width apart. The hands are loaded, held higher, bat starting in more of a tilted position. The lower half helps create a ton of power, higher, smooth leg kick, with backside drive. The swing is short to contact, level through the zone and finishes high with one hand. The approach is middle to pull side, pounding the baseball all over the yard. The exit velocity was clocked at 97 mph, serious juice and pop in the hands. Defensively, shows a big arm, was clocked at 86 mph across the diamond. The feet and hands work well together moving well to glove side. Projects out to be an above average third baseman at the higher levels.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.35

6-foot, 180-pound, average athletic frame, rounded shoulders, longer limbs, has room for added weight. A right-handed hitting middle infielder, fast twitchy actions and movements to him. At the plate, feet are even, taller stance at the shoulders, super loose relaxed hands. For timing, lower half is under control. Small leg kick, hands stay back, gains ground. The swing is level through the zone, barrel has good plate coverage, and finishes high with one hand. The approach is more middle to pull, has enough juice to beat the pull side defender. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 88 mph, hard solid contact, baseball jumps off the bat. Defensively, arm is well above average, clocked at 80 mph, is quick and fast working out of a ¾ slot. The hands are soft, feeds and turns from both sides were performed correct. Feet are clean and work well with hands, plus actions. Projects for me to be able to stick at either spot on the left side of the infield.
