Silan

The lone representative from Delaware, Silan did not hold back and put up some of his best numbers at this event. Silan has always had one of the more live arms around and that did not change, as he pitched 88-90 topping out at 91 during the ProCase pitching from the stretch only. The development of his slider has continued to get better as the pitch topped out at 82 on the day. His cross-body delivery and deception he creates in his delivery pose for a nice combination and tough opponent against hitters.

8.4.16 - Silan has an athletic frame and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a smooth drop and drive delivery. Very quick arm with loose action, generating velocity with easier effort. Shoulders are level and closed, strides very closed, crossfire delivery with an athletic finish. Fastball had slight late run, sitting 85-87, touching 89. Sweeping slider with decent armspeed, running 71-76, sharper at the higher end of his range. Very good change-up with good armspeed and fade, running 76-78.

11.1.15 - Solid athletic frame at 6-foot, 180-pounds. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Hits from balance set up with high hands. Nice rhythm in swing. Smooth load with short stride. Short swing path with bat speed. Gets lower half to work. Shows some extension. Power potential as he matures. Exit velocity of 88 mph.  Active feet in the outfield. Soft hands and clean exchange. Loose arm action throwing from a ¾ arm slot. Throws have some life on them at 88 mph.....Has a loose arm action on the mound throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Controlled delivery. Good hip set and could get more lower half involvement. Lands slightly across body on landing and finishes a bit towards the first base side.  Quick arm speed. Fastball has late run and little sink to the pitch at 84 mph. Curveball has 11/5 action almost 12/6 at 73 mph. Potential for a power pitch. Had tight rotation and later break. Fastball arm speed on changeup with late sink to the pitch at 77 mph. Slider has similar action to the curveball with shorter 11/5 action.

10.27.15 - Athletic frame at 6-foot, 180-pounds. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Hits from a balance, slightly open set up. Smooth quick load with short stride. Nice rhythm in swing. Level swing path with some bat speed. Nice lower half usage. Gets extension through contact. Exit velocity of 87 mph. Confident first step with active feet in the outfield. Nice hands and plays thru ball during exchange. Long arm action from outfield with some arm speed and has some carry on his throws at 83 mph. Nice actions in the infield. Steep at fielding position. Nice hands with shorter arm action from infield. Throws across diamond at 84 mph. On the mound has a loose arm action on the mound throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Controlled delivery. Good hip set and could get more lower half involvement. Lands slightly across body on landing and finishes a bit towards the first base side.  Quick arm speed. Fastball has late run and little sink to the pitch at 83 mph. Curveball has 11/5 action almost 12/6 at 71 mph. Potential for a power pitch. Had tight rotation and later break. Silan has a good skill set at an early age and should make a strong case for himself in the 2018 rankings.
