The Hotlist: Uncommitted 2018 Pitchers
October 12, 2016
By Nathan Rode and PBR Staff
For college programs, recruiting is never done and moves at a breakneck pace. While many of the top juniors in the country have made verbal commitments, there is still plenty of talent still out there. At the same time, it’s not a bad thing to be uncommitted as an underclassman. These 2018 pitching prospects are still experiencing the process and have the potential of being contributors at the college level.
Max Alba, RHP, Franklin HS, WI
Currently leading the Sabers at quarterback to a 7-1 record on the gridiron, Alba is the top uncommitted pitcher in Wisconsin. He hasn’t thrown a baseball since the Prep Baseball Report Future Games in August, but he’s keeping his arm in shape with 1,100 yards in five games under center. At the Future Games, he showed a lively fastball with swing-and-miss finish at 87-88 mph, touching 89. His curveball has depth and swing-and-miss potential as well. He throws it aggressively at 74-77. Alba is highly athletic and one of the best arms available in the Midwest.
