The Mid-Atlantic ProCase was held on Saturday, February 10th at the TSI Training center in Henrico, Virginia. Prospects from Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia came out to showcase their talent in front of scouts from around the region. Though it was a majority of 2018 graduates hoping to turn a few heads, there were also a small amount of 2019 and 2020 graduates wanting to get their names out early. Today we give our final thoughts from the event.

Mid-atlantic ProCase: Final Thoughts

Parker Landwehr C / OF / Calvert Hall, MD / 2019

The physicality in Landwehr is very present now, transforming his body in the past year with added strength. At the plate Landwehr has the makings of a force to be reckoned showing pull side pop and putting up one of the top exit velocities with his 98 mph. he showed some length in his swing, but the bat speed made up for it with a barrel that stayed in the zone. Behind the dish, Parker showed arm strength and a quick release with a pop as low as 1.98. As a receiver, Landwehr has made stride in his development and should continue to get better to devlop himself into an offensive power threat as a catcher but he may move to another position just simply dues to his physical frame growing out of the position.

Marcus Lee Sang OF / LHP / Northern, MD / 2019

Lee Sang was another who has shown tremendous growth since the last time we saw him showing off his ability at the PBR Future Games. Lee Sang continues to be an athletic prospect with a ceiling that continues to rise. He showed a smooth left handed swing at the plate power potential and more is there once he gets full lower half involvement. Its an athletic arm that was up to 92 from the outfield, one of the better velocities on the event. On the mound we saw more growth as Lee Sang topped out at 87 mph and there is more to come in the arm as he looks to be progressing properly. Unfinished and more to grow, exciting to continue to follow to see where he goes.

Stephen Pelli RHP / St. Mary's, MD / 2018

Pelli continues to show why has been considered one of the top arms in the state since his sophomore campaign. His live arm throws a heavy fastball and his secondary both have swing and miss potential down the road. This day Pelli sat 89-90 during his pen with his quick and compact delivery with an explosive backside through finish. The breaking ball was a hard pitch with late break at 80 mph, and the change up shows split action on the pitch up to 82.

Jose Rivera SS / 3B / Riverdale Baptist, MD / 2018

Rivera was unable to do the defensive portion because he is still recovering from shoulder surgery, but watching the offensive presence of this young man and you know he has the ability to be an intriguing prospect down the road. It pretty simple at the plate with smooth actions and load that translates into pop and fast bat speed with the hands. He shows good balance at the plate looking to never to get too far out of himself. If he can come back healthy from the surgery, he will one to keep an eye on.

Zachary Roberts OF / 3B / Chopticon, MD / 2018

The Chopticon HS product put on a strong display during the event showing off his newfound quickness while maintaining his pop at the plate. Roberts made loud contact throughouta solid BP session. He more than likely will play outfield in college but has the versatility to play a corner infield position. I am sure Brunswick community college are hoping to strike gold twice out of Chopticon where their last recruit Robby Kidwell is now in the New York Mets organization after junior college.

Corey Rosier OF / C / Riverdale Baptist, MD / 2018

Quick twitch all over the place is Rosiers calling card and it is his top tier speed that separates himself from the pack with 60-yard dash times reportedly now to be in the 6.5 range. Rosier had one of the mor unorthodox set ups at the plate with a lot of movement and a preload with his hands more forward, but it did not take away from his ability to consistently get barrel on the baseball and made plus contact during his BP. He is a pro at his craft at the plate, and his BP was impressive with the explosive bat speed he could generate.

Tomas Sanchez OF / SS / Dinwiddie, VA / 2018

Sanchez was one of the best overall athletes at the event, with his combination of size, speed, strength, and explosiveness. At the plate Sanchez looks to have freed his hands up more allowing them to work better with more extension and loosen up some. Thought Sanchez had one of the more interesting workouts on the day and either way he will be one to keep an eye on whether after college or this season as his best years are in front of him.

Joey Silan RHP / OF / Caravel Academy, DE / 2018

The lone representative from Delaware, Silan did not hold back and put up some of his best numbers at this event. Silan has always had one of the more live arms around and that did not change, as he pitched 88-90 topping out at 91 during the ProCase pitching from the stretch only. The development of his slider has continued to get better as the pitch topped out at 82 on the day. His cross-body delivery and deception he creates in his delivery pose for a nice combination and tough opponent against hitters.

Tevin Tucker SS / 2B / Prince George, VA / 2018

Solid and smooth on the day was Tucker. Showing nice rhythm at the plate and a smooth stroke with strong and quick hands working through the zone and getting consistent barrel during his BP session. Defensively its athletic as he glides around the diamond moving around effortlessly with sound fundamentals. I have always thought that Tuckers best years are in front of him and that he could make a huge rise down the road and nothing deterred my thoughts after this event. Keep an eye on Tucker at WVU.
