We celebrated Independence Day weekend in Wisconsin Dells with nearly 50 of the Midwest’s best travel baseball programs at our massive annual tournament: the Badger State Battle. Every year, around this time, we reconvene in the Dells to host this event, the largest tournament on our calendar. The PBR Wisconsin and PBR Illinois scouting staffs were both on-site to watch, evaluate, and scout teams representing both states.

815 Baseball

Brock Ashens, RHP, Belvidere North (IL), 2019
Uncommitted 2019 prospect. 6-foot, 155-pound right handed pitcher. Short and loose arm action from a high ¾ slot, easy effort. Ashens was able to keep a very talented Hitters lineup quiet. His fastball sat 80-82 mph with slight run. His 12/6 curveball at 69-71 mph paired with a changeup at 71-74 mph kept offensive players off balanced. His final line was 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 4 SO, 2 BB. 

Garrett McLaughlin, RHP, Rogers (MN), 2020
Top 40 prospect in Minnesota’s 2020 class. Fastball sat 80-83 mph, touched 84 mph early on with slight cutting action. Curveball at 70-73 mph with 11/5 shape and depth. Slow tempo delivery with long and loose arm action. Arm works out front and he throws from a high ¾ slot. 

Braeden Sayles, OF, Hononegah (IL), 2021
2021 graduate playing against 2020 grads. 6-foot-1, 180-pound left handed hitting outfielder.  Batted in the leadoff spot for 815. Led off the game against Sluggers with a bullet up the middle for a base hit. Showcased the approach of a true leadoff hitter, constantly working the count deep. He drew a pair of walks against Hitters, and used his speed on the basepaths to generate runs, scoring both of 815’s only runs that game. At the plate, open stance, smooth load, leg kick stride, short and uphill path to the baseball.

Bay Port

Adam Bernklau, 2B, Bay Port, 2020
Right-handed hitting second baseman. Leadoff batter for Bay Port in their Friday matchup against Silver Sluggers Blue. Adam went 2 for 3 with a triple and a single. He has an open setup where his hands start high, a smooth load, and a long, level path to the baseball. Defensively, he read hops well and has natural, clean actions.

Will Destiche, C, Bay Port, 2020
Right-handed hitting catcher who went 2-for-3 in Friday’s matchup against Silver Sluggers Blue with a hard hit double into right field. Has a balanced setup with a short stride, a smooth load, and a fluid swing. Defensively, Destiche framed the plate well and recorded a pop time in between innings of 2.22 seconds.

Brew State Baseball Academy

Daniel Kim, MIF, Brookfield Academy, 2020
5-foot-8, 165-pound compact frame. Played second base and batted second. Followed up a strong showing on Thursday with a 2-for-3 game on Friday morning. Drove a triple to the left center wall for an RBI in the first inning, followed by shooting a double down the right field line in his final plate appearance. At the plate, slightly open setup, smooth load, short stride, short and compact swing. Finished the weekend 7-for-12 with a double, a triple, and a pair of runs driven in.

Danny Perdzock, RHP, Milwaukee Lutheran, 2020
6-foot-6, 215 pound right handed pitcher. Drop and drive delivery. Showed long and loose arm action, arm works out front. Works from a high 3/4 window. Fastball sat 81-83 mph, touched 85 mph in the 7th inning. Showed the ability to maintain velocity by consistently touching low 80s deep in the game. Curveball at 67-69 mph with 11/5 shape and depth. Showed feel for his curveball, throwing it in any count. Changeup at 70-72 mph with sinking action. Slider at 71-73 mph with sweeping action, used as a two-strike pitch. Showed control of each of his pitches, finishing with 65.2% strikes. Finished CG, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 8 SO, 1 BB.

Reyshawn Sprewer, OF, Pius XI Catholic, 2020
5-foot-9, 155-pound left handed hitting outfielder. Started all four games in center field and hit in the two- or three-hole in each game. Finished the tournament 5-for-12 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and a handful of loud outs. Sets up in a balanced stance, toe tap stride, quick hands and a short bat path that translate to consistent hard contact. Sprewer showed excellent range in the outfield all weekend, tracking down fly balls in each of the gaps. Sprewer made a diving catch on a ball that was without a doubt a three-bagger, and topped off the play by making a strong throw to double off the runner at first. 

Capital City Predators

Ben Collier, 2B/OF, Middleton, 2020
5-foot-9, 140 pound right-handed hitter. Went 2 for 3 with a double, a single, and 6 RBIs on Saturday against Rhino (WI). Collier has a balanced setup and then strides to bring himself to an open position. He has a minimal load and an opposite field approach at the plate. 

Jacob Meinholz, 3B/RHP, Middleton, 2020
6-foot, 165-pound two-way player. On the mound fastball reached 81-82 mph, high ¾ slot, gets occasional run action. Curveball has 11/5 shape, played at 70 mph. Flashed a changeup at 75 mph. Hit three-hole for Capital City, showed hard opposite field contact.

Logan Rademan, 2B, Pius XI Catholic, 2020
5-foot-8, 140 pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. Was the leadoff batter for his team on Saturday against Rhino (WI). Rademan went 2 for 3 with a double and a single. He has a closed setup with a leg kick stride, a short and level path to the baseball, and flashed a line drive approach at the plate.

Josh Stumpf, RHP, Middleton, 2020
6-foot-3, 175 pound right-handed pitcher who started on the mound against Rhino (WI) on Saturday. Stumpf pitched a complete 7 inning game to help his team to a 13-5 victory. He has a long, loose arm action out of a high ¾ slot. Tall and fall delivery, stays in line with his target, and finishes by landing square. His fastball sat 78-81 mph, maxed at 82 mph. It played mostly straight and was thrown for strikes at the bottom of the zone. Curveball was 66-68 mph. 

Gavin Vrana, LHP, Wisconsin Lutheran, 2020
Got the Capital City Predators started off in the win column with a complete game victory, 6-3, on Thursday. Vrana worked 78-80 mph out of a long high ¾ slot and showed an above average CB at times to keep Team Heat off balance. Vrana carries a strong, developed build at 5-foot-11, 188-pounds and brings a competitive presence to the mound as well.

CBT

Dylan Anderson, OF, Neenah, 2020
6-foot-1, 170-pound lanky frame. Batted fifth and played CF for CBT. At the plate, balanced setup, toe tap stride, short and uphill bat path. Showed feel for the barrel, hitting the ball hard in both at-bats. Finished the game 2-2 ll hard in each at-bat. Finished the game 2-2 with a single, triple, four RBI, a walk, and two runs scored.

Adam Diedrich, RHP, Hilbert, 2020
6-foot-2, 150-pound lanky and lean frame with long limbs. On the mound, tall and fall delivery, works in line, lands square. Long and loose arm action, works from a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sat 81-83 mph, touching 85 mph. Fastball plays with arm side run. Curveball at 70-72 mph with 11/5 shape. Showed feel for his changeup, locating it in the zone at 74-76 mph. Final line: CG, 1 ER, 8 K, 1 BB in a 10-1 win over NorthStar Neon. 

GRB Rays Green

Tyler Chadwick, RHP, Marshall, 2020
West Virginia commit. 6-foot-5, 200-pound right-handed pitcher who came in relief for his team on Friday night. Pitched only one inning and did not allow a hit. Loose arm action out of a high ¾ slot, tall and fall delivery. Fastball sat in the high 80’s, maxed at 93 mph, and played mostly straight. Curveball had tight 11/5 shape and was 76 mph.

Carter Endisch, RHP, Arrowhead, 2020
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound right hander sat 84-86 mph, touching 87 mph a few times and 88 mph once in the first inning before settling 82-84 mph from the second inning on. He also featured a curveball thrown with fastball arm speed at 66-68 mph with 11/5 shape. 

Riley Frey, LHP, Oshkosh West, 2020
Turned in the best pitching performance of the tournament thus far. The Wisconsin-Milwaukee commit was dominant on Friday night, tossing seven shutout innings against a tough ISA Stars Royal lineup and striking out fifteen. He ran his fastball up to 87 mph with run and was able to place it where he wanted to all game long. He featured a breaking ball that played between 68-70 mph that played slurve-like with the ability to drop for strikes and expand the zone. Frey also displayed a changeup, which sat at 75-77 mph that flashed arm side run and was thrown with fastball arm speed. His above-average three-pitch mix makes him one of the top pitching prospects in the Wisconsin 2020 class. 

Taiten Manriquez, 3B, Waunakee, 2020
6-foot, 160 pound right-handed hitting infielder. Went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs on Saturday against Team Heat Baseball. Smoked a double to the left field wall. Projectable frame, high waisted. He has a balanced set up with a small leg lift stride. Uses a short and level bat path to produce hard line drive contact.

Max Wagner, 3B, Green Bay Preble, 2020
The Clemson commit hit third for GRB Green 17U against STiKS Red 17U. The 6-foot, 190-pound corner infield went 3-for-3 on the day with a pair of doubles and a walk. Wagner showcased his gap-to-gap pop with one double over the right fielder’s head and the other a shot down the left field line. At the dish, he sets up in a slightly open and balanced stance, leg kick stride, and smooth loading action. He showcased a short and level bat path paired with quick bat speed which translated to consistent barrels. 

GRB Rays Yellow

Quinn Berglin, RHP, Pewaukee, 2020
Long, lanky, projectible build. 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed pitcher. Started on the mound for GRB Yellow against Sluggers 2020. Closed landing, works in line with target. Long and loose arm action, ¾ slot, throws across his body, hard to pick up the baseball. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, sat between 76-77 mph with cut. Slider played at 68-69 mph, thrown from a fastball arm slot, sweeping action.

Jacob Cinelli, LHP, Arrowhead, 2020
Strong, well-defined build. 5-foot-11, 187-pound left-handed pitcher for GRB Yellow. Made an appearance out of the bullpen against Sluggers 2020 on Saturday afternoon. Athletic delivery with a high leg kick, works in line with his target, falls towards 3B side. Short draw, loose arm action, over-the-top slot, quick arm speed, ball comes out of his hand easy. Fastball reached 81 mph, sat between 77-80, played down in the zone. Curveball had 1/7 shape, sharp action, sat between 68-70 mph. Changeup ranged between 71-72 mph. 

Josh Cottrill, RHP/SS, Pewaukee, 2020
Long, lanky build. 6-foot-1, 152-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Batted eighth for GRB Yellow against Team Heat. Balanced setup, minimal load, short stride with a toe-tap. Quick hands, turned on an inside fastball for a double down the left-field line, stays level through the zone, barrels up the baseball, fluid rhythm through contact, simple and compact swing. Went 1-for-2 with a double and a hit-by-pitch. 

Kyle Fluegel, OF/RHP, Oak Creek, 2020
Athletic, projectible build. 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder for GRB Rays Yellow. Tall, balanced setup, smooth load, short stride. Quick hands, level path through the baseball, simple and compact swing, competes at the plate, works counts. Went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a walk. 

Colin Hageman, MIF, Janesville Craig, 2020
Lean, athletic build. 5-foot-11, 165-pound switch hitting middle infielder. The No. 64th overall player in the Wisconsin 2020 class. Worked out of the two-hole for GRB Rays Yellow 17U. Balanced setup, short stride, slight leg lift. Hands start up at his shoulders, level path through the zone. Ran times of 4.51 and 4.53 to first base, hustled out to beat an infield single in his first at-bat. Went 2-for-4 with two singles. 

Jake Orthober, RHP, Marquette University, 2020
His performance on the mound Friday afternoon helped lead GRB Yellow 17U to a victory over Team Heat. The 6-foot-1 right-handed pitcher tossed six strong innings of one-run baseball, striking out seven and earning the victory. Orthober ran his fastball up to 85 mph and primarily sat between 82-84 mph. He also showed feel for a changeup that was thrown with fastball arm speed, flashed arm side run, and played between 73-74 mph and an 11/5 curveball that he threw for strikes with gradual action. 

Andrew Rajkovich, OF, Madison LaFollette, 2020
Strong, well-defined build. 6-foot-2, 195 right-handed hitter. Primarily hit out of the three-hole for GRB Yellow. Balanced setup, short stride, slight leg lift. Level path through the baseball, juice in his bat, simple and easy swing, rhythm through contact. Went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs against Sluggers 2020. 

Hitters Baseball

Mitchell Alba, OF, Franklin, 2020
6-foot-3, 195 pound right-handed hitter. Went 2 for 3 on Friday night against GRB Green with a double, a single, and an RBI. Has a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride, a short, uphill path to the baseball, and an opposite field approach at the plate. Generates quick bat speed which produces hard contact. On the mound Alba works with a competitive presence, uptempo and determined. Fastball ranged 83-87 mph, mostly 84-86 mph, with more arm side action at the lower end of that velo. Breaking ball is tight and sharp, plays up, high level offering, gets swing and miss, worked 73-74 mph only started using it in the fourth, pitching exclusively off his fastball first time through the order.

Gunnar Doyle, OF, Oak Creek, 2020
Uncommitted left-handed hitting outfielder, 6-foot, 190-pounds, sturdy build. Relaxed look in the box, easy swing with feel for barrel. Approach can spray to all fields, went 2-for-3 with a triple in championship game, drove in one and scored twice. 

Eric Erato, 3B, Sussex Hamilton, 2020
Northern Illinois commit. 6-foot, 170 pound left handed hitter. Ripped a 2 RBI triple into left field during his team’s Friday night matchup against GRB Green. Has a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride and a smooth load. He has a slightly uphill path to the baseball and a gap-to-gap approach at the plate. His loose hands and fast bat speed provide him with easy power behind his swing. Showed it again on championship Sunday with four hits in two games, two for extra bases. 

Cooper Griffiths, RHP, Westosha Central, 2020
One of the top uncommitted arms in the state’s 2020 class was sent to the mound against STiKS Black. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound right handed pitcher dominated through six shutout frames. Showed long and loose arm action from a high ¾ slot with explosive arm speed. Fastball played with slight arm side run and sat 83-85 mph, touching 87 mph a small handful of times. Curveball had 11/5 shape with depth at 71-73 mph. Griffiths had an excellent changeup with late sink/fade at 74-77 mph. The uncommitted right-hander showed improved control with a strike percentage of 65%, which could make him an intriguing on-the-market option left in the 2020 class. Final line: CG, 8 H, 2 ER, 4 SO, 1 BB. 

Tommy Lamb, LHP, Grafton, 2020
Has been steadily trending up late this spring and into the summer. Lamb tossed a gem in the state Sectional Semifinals and showed more of the same tonight in Mauston for Hitters Baseball. The Oklahoma commit has one of the easiest fastballs in the state and comfortable sat 85-87 mph throughout his outing, touching 87 multiple times in his last several pitches. His best pitch is arguably a plus curveball with swing and miss action on a 1/7 plane, thrown at 77-78 mph. Lamb finished with 10 Ks over five innings in an 8-1 win over GRB Rays Green. 

Arthur Liebau, RHP, Homestead, 2020
6-foot-1, 205 pound right-handed pitcher. Started on the mound on Saturday against PTA. Liebau pitched a complete game, which went four innings, giving up three runs and striking out six batters. He has a long, loose arm action out of a high ¾ slot, drop and drive delivery. Fastball showed arm side run and sat 80-85 mph, topped at 87 mph. Changeup was 78-79 mph and had hard action.

Michael Seegers, SS, Home School, 2020
Iowa commit. Batted leadoff and played shortstop for a stacked Hitters squad. At the dish, balanced stance, short stride, smooth load, great balance. Short bat path, quick hands. Finished the game 2-for-3 with a pair of hard hit singles. In the field, showcased natural actions at the shortstop position. Soft hands, quick and clean footwork, above average range. 

ISA Stars Royal 

Christopher Bolo, CF, Iron Mountain (MI), 2019
6-foot-4, 195 pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Grand Valley State University commit. Batted fourth in the lineup on Saturday against Sluggers Baseball. Bolo went 3 for 3 with 3 singles. He has a balanced set up with a stride that brings him eve, minimal load, and a level path to the baseball.

Ben Hampton, LHP, West De Pere, 2020
The West Virginia commit was dominant like his counterpart Frey, and struck out ten batters over 5 2/3 innings pitched. Hampton’s fastball touched 86 mph, ranged between 83-85 mph, with run and he hit his spots all game long. His best secondary offering was his curveball, which sat between 68-72 mph with a 1/7 shape, bite, and was thrown for strikes throughout his outing. Hampton also threw a changeup with fastball arm speed at 76-77 mph. He is also a high follow in the Wisconsin 2020 class. 

NorthStar Neon

Branden Huwe, OF, Lakeville North (MN), 2020
5-foot-9, 170-pound right handed hitting outfielder. Played left field for NorthStar Neon. At the plate, narrow setup, toe tap with a long stride, long and level bat path. Huwe played a big part of NorthStar’s 3-1 victory over Brew State. He lined a single to right in his first at bat and came up clutch with a two-run single in his second at bat. Huwe also went 2-for-3 with a stolen base in a losing effort against CBT. 

Jordan Huwe, SS, Lakeville North (MN), 2020
5-foot-11, 145-pound right handed hitting shortstop. Huwe is the 17th ranked shortstop in Minnesota’s 2020 class. Batted in either the two or three slot for NorthStar. At the plate, slightly open and balanced stance, smooth load, leg lift with a short stride, level bat path through the zone. Huwe notched a base hit in three of four games in Mauston. In the field, showed solid actions at shortstop. Showed lateral range, including a diving play at shortstop. Showed arm strength and played accurate across the diamond. 

Thomas Ritt, RHP, Hastings (MN), 2020
6-foot-3, 180 pound lanky and lean frame. Tall and fall delivery with slight drop in his backside. Showcased long and loose arm action from a high 3/4 slot. Arm works out front. Fastball sat 78-81 mph, touched 83 mph. Showed the ability to maintain velocity by consistently touching into the 80s in each inning. Curveball at 70-74 mph with 11/5 shape and depth. Also flashed a changeup at 71-73 mph with late cutting action. Showed control with each of his pitches, finishing with a strike percentage of 67%. Finished 6 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 5 K, 1 BB. 

Kieran Schmitz, LHP, Wayzata (MN), 2020
One of the top uncommitted southpaws in the state of Minnesota. 6-foot, 170-pound with long limbs. Uptempo delivery, long and loose arm action, quick arm speed, works from a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 82-84 mph, touching 87 mph. Located his fastball throughout the zone. Didn’t use off-speed pitches. Finished CG, 8 H, 3 ER, 7 K, 4 BB, and the win. 

PBA

Jack Heiring, OF, Kenosha Christian Life, 2020
High ceiling frame and athlete, 6-foot-4, 180-pounds, lean build. Right-handed hitter, hands play loose and athletic in the box, hits in rhythm. Showed hard contact off the bat, creates above average bat speed and projectable gap to gap power. In a win over Thundercats, Heiring scored a run and hit a gapper that he legged out for a triple, showing above average jump off the barrel.

Andrew Hrncar, OF, Westosha Central, 2020
6-foot, 190-pound uncommitted left-handed hitting outfielder. Shows above average feel for the barrel, occasional pull side approach. Pulled a hard triple down the line passed a first baseman in a 12-3 win over Thundercat, Hrncar finished the game 1-3 including a triple and a run scored.

Jarrett Ramer, RHP, Bradford, 2019
Upper Iowa University commit. 6-foot, 180 pound right handed pitcher who started on the mound on Saturday against Silver Sluggers Blue. The game concluded in a 0-0 tie, with Ramer going the distance. He pitched eight innings giving up only one hit and striking out 11 batters. Has a long arm action coming out of a high ¾ slot. Tall and fall delivery and finishes by landing square.  Fastball played straight and sat 82-85 mph, topped at 86 mph. Curveball played with 11/5 shape and was 72-74 mph.

Jacyk Uehling, OF, South Milwaukee, 2020
The 5-foot-10, 155-pound left handed hitter is one of the top uncommitted outfielders in the state’s 2020 class. At the dish, Uehling sets up in a slightly open stance, short stride, maintains balance through contact. Bat path is short and level. His loose hands help create a quick-twitch swing that generates consistent hard contact. He finished the weekend 4-for-10 with a double and an RBI, and three runs scored. Uehling’s explosive speed makes him a threat on the basepaths, as he is constantly looking to put pressure on the pitcher. He scored a run in three of their four games this weekend. .

PTA Cardinal

Nick Cairo, RHP, Kenosha Bradford, 2020
6-foot-2, 215-pound right handed pitcher. Drop and drive delivery that he easily repeats, showcased long and loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 84-85 mph early on, touching 86 mph. Sharp breaking ball at 75-76 mph with 11/5 shape and occasional slurve type action. Changeup sat 78-79 mph with sink and slight run, used as a strikeout pitch a small handful of times. Showed feel for all three of his pitches. Consistently worked ahead in the count, finished with a first pitch strike percentage of 70.3% and a total strike percentage of 81.2%. Went the distance, finished 7 IP, 5 H, 10 K, 0 BBs.

Rhino (WI)

Brent Hoffmann, RHP, Ozaukee, 2020
6-foot-1, 175 pound right handed pitcher who started on the mound for Rhino (WI) on Friday.  Hoffmann pitched 7 innings giving up only 2 runs and striking out 6 batters. Has a long arm action out of a high ¾ slot. Tall and fall delivery, and finishes by landing with his front toe square to home plate. His fastball showed arm side run and sat 78-80 mph, topping out at 81 mph. His curveball showed 12/6 shape and was 65-69 mph.

Colby Snell, 2B, Oshkosh North, 2020
6-foot, 165 pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. Batted second in the lineup on Saturday against Capital City Predators. Snell went 2 for 2 with a double, a single, and an RBI. He has an open stance with a toe tap stride, and a level, short path to the baseball.  

Silver Sluggers Blue

Cameron Schaaf, OF, McFarland, 2020
5-foot-11, 175 pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Leadoff batter for Silver Sluggers Blue in their matchup against Bay Port on Friday. Finished the game going 2 for 4. Has a balanced setup with a small stride and a smooth load. Has loose hands which helps him create easy bat speed. Schaaf was also able to showcase his speed by running a home to first time of 4.14 seconds, turning a ground ball into a base hit.

Logan Schultz, RHP, Middleton, 2020
6-foot-4, 170-pound prospect with a lean frame. Started on the mound on Saturday in the 0-0 matchup against PBA. Schultz pitched a complete game, which went eight innings. He has a drop and drive delivery and finishes by landing with his front toe square to home plate. His long, loose arm action came out of a ¾ slot, which helped him produce a mid-70s fastball with feel, topping out at 77 mph. Curveball held an 11/5 shape and was 65-68 mph.

Cameron Schaaf, OF, McFarland, 2020
The lead-off man for Silver Sluggers Blue who really set the tone for the offense. A simple, repeatable right-handed swing. Loose hands help him produce bat speed and hard-hit contact to all fields. Has top-of-the-order speed, too, which helps him out of the batter’s box and on the basepaths.

Xavier Schreiber, 1B/OF, McFarland, 2020
A 6-foot, 200-pound left/left prospect with athleticism and a strong lower half. After a strong season for a McFarland team that upset its way to a state tournament appearance, Schreiber has continued to stir some of our attention. He swings a strong left-handed bat with a pull-side approach, average bat speed, above-average quality of contact. Schreiber is also an instinctual baserunner and defender and always seems a step ahead of his opposition.

Preston Viens, INF, Beloit Turner, 2020
The 5-foot-11, 155-pound right/right prospect started at shortstop, where this thin/athletic frame helped him fit right in. He defends in rhythm and has the footwork to stick to the left side of the infield with an above-average arm. At the plate, he has a middle-middle approach which fits his simple right-handed stroke well. An all-around competitor.

Silver Sluggers Grey

Ayden Austin, SS, DeForest, 2020
Batted in either the two or six spot in the lineup and played shortstop all four games. At the plate, sets up in a tall and open stance, leg kick stride, long and uphill bat path. Connor Siegenthaler, 1B, New Glarus, 2020
Left handed hitting 1B/Catcher. Showed the ability to find the barrel, squaring up pitches in both plate appearances. In his first at bat, took a pitch for a drive close to the warning track in right for a loud out. In his second AB, hit a shot to the left-center gap for a three run triple, helping Sluggers win 7-5 over Brew State.

STiKS Academy Black

Chris Byhre Jr., RHP, Catholic Memorial, 2020
In STiKS Black’s second 17U game, RHP Chris Byhre starred. We’re accustomed to seeing Byhre reach the low 90s, as he did in the spring, but it came at a cost: his command. On Thursday, Byhre dialed it back in his start against Rhino WI and came within one out of tossing a complete game shutout. From start to finish, the uncommitted 2020 righty sat in the 83-86 mph range, touching 87 mph multiple times throughout. His offspeed is still a work in progress, but given his premium arm strength, the change in velo is effective as he continues to sharpen his breaking ball’s bite. He aced a strike out looking on the outside corner with an 87 mph fastball on the black to end the sixth, his final full frame.

Luke Fox, LHP, Catholic Memorial, 2020
Duke commit. Fox had one of the best outings in Mauston. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound southpaw was sent to the mound to face a loaded Hitters lineup and did not disappoint. The 2nd ranked left handed pitcher in the state went the distance and allowed only one hit and one walk while striking out three. Fox showcased long and loose arm action from a ¾ slot with electric arm speed. He sat in the 86-88 mph range for the first few frames, touching 89 mph once or twice. Fox’s arsenal of offspeed pitches helped keep batter’s off balance. His curveball sat 74-77 mph with 1/7 shape and depth. He mixed in an excellent changeup at 77-80 mph to miss barrels. Fox’s ability to control the baseball resulted in consistent weak contact against a lineup that was barreling up baseballs all weekend. Final line: CG (7 IP), 0 R, 1 H, 3 K, 1 BB. 

John Kelliher, LHP, Waukesha North, 2020
6-foot-4, 190-pound left-handed pitching prospect. High-waisted, projectable build. Tossed a four-inning no-hitter against Silver Sluggers on Thursday. Compact arm circle, varies between a high ¾ and ¾ slot. Works on line, shoulders level, lands square. Primarily relied on his fastball on this day, sat 79-82 mph. Mixed in a slurve-y breaking ball that flashed tight spin, action in the 69-70 mph range.

Matt Klement, 3B, Catholic Memorial, 2020
6-foot-2, 190-pound right handed hitting corner infielder. Klement came up clutch for STiKS in a battle against Hitters on Saturday night. Klement stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the 7th, drove in the first run with a shot through the left side of the infield. His only hit of the night turned out to be the biggest, as he put his team ahead for good. Klement sets up in am open stance, leg lift stride, and an uphill bat path.

Sabastian Kloss, RHP, Whitnall, 2020
Uncommitted 2020 arm, 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic live body. Repeatable uptempo delivery with moxy and presence on the mound. Showed ability to control the game and set the tone. High ¾ slot, arm action is clean and loose. Fastball ticked up to 87 mph in the first inning, sat mostly 84-85 mph with feel and slight arm side run. Curveball plays 73-74 mph, 11/5 shape, feel and tight spin. Ability to work through a lineup multiple times, however stuff may play up even more in short stints.

Zach Storbakken, 3B, Sussex Hamilton, 2020
Ranked No. 41 in the state, making him one of the top uncommitted 2020 infielders in Wisconsin. An athletic 6-foot-1, 195-pound, right-handed-hitting prospect. One of STiKS Black’s hottest hitters all tournament. A simple, contact-first swing geared for solid line-drive all-fields contact. A sound defender at third; above-average hands with a strong, accurate arm.

Dylan Nevar, OF, Wisconsin Dells, 2020
The No. 41-ranked prospect in the state’s 2020 class is on the rise again after another strong weekend at the Badger State Battle. The left/left, 6-foot-1, 180-pound center fielder has the foot speed and instincts on defense to continue projecting as a center fielder at the next level. In the batter’s box, he hits in the middle of the order for a talented STiKS Red team. He has a smooth, fluid swing with loose/athletic hands that help him generate bat speed.

Donovan Schultz, LHP, Kimberly, 2020
One of the state’s top uncommitted arms in the 2020 class. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound southpaw worked a fastball in the low 80’s with arm side run, paired with a sharp curveball at 70-72 mph with 1/7 shape. He maintained fastball arm speed on his breaking ball. Schultz showcased a plunge draw with long and loose arm action at a high ¾ slot.

Team Heat Baseball

Ethan Haefner, 1B, Milton, 2020
Lean, athletic build. Left/Left first baseman that hit clean up for Team Heat. Balanced setup, short stride, leg lift, strides outward. Hands start up in a good hitting position, long, uphill path through the zone, barrelled up the baseball. Went 2-for-3 with a double off the right field wall and an RBI. 

Henry Pitsch, OF, Madison West, 2020
Strong, well-defined build. Open setup, wide base, even stride with a leg lift. Quick hands, level path through the zone, barrelled up the baseball, fluid rhythm through contact. Went 0-for-3 with two RBIs and made hard contact on every ball put in play. 

The Hitting Center Arsenal

Drew Martin, RHP, Mt. Pulaski (IL), 2021
6-foot-1, 185-pound right handed pitcher who started on the mound for his team on Friday. Martin threw three innings, giving up no runs and striking out 5 batters. Frame projects, long and lean with wide shoulders, trim through waist and lower half, loose live levers. Has a long arm action out of a high ¾ arm slot. Drop and drive delivery and finishes by landing with his front toe square to home plate. His fastball sat 81-85 mph, topped at 86 mph. His curveball held 12/6 shape and was 68-72 mph, showing swing and miss action, potential true outpitch. His changeup sat 73-76 mph.

Luke Roberts RHP, Williamsville, 2020
5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed pitcher. Lean wiry frame, arm works clean out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 80-82 mph, touched 84 mph. Curveball worked 64-65 mph with 11/5 shape.

Griffin Eggleston, MIF, Williamsville, 2020
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound middle infielder provided excellent production in the bottom half of the order all weekend. Eggleston had multi-hit games on two separate occasions this weekend, finishing with a line of 6-for-9 with a double, three runs driven in, three runs scored, and three walks.

Phillip Harper, RHP, Wauwatosa East, 2020
An intriguing arm still on the market. The 6-foot-5, 190-pound righty’s fastball sat at 81-83 mph, topping at 85 mph with tilt. He also showcased a curveball at 70-73 mph with 11/5 shape and depth, along with a changeup at 74-77 mph. Harper has long and loose arm action, working from a high ¾ slot. Final line: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 5 K, 4 BB.

Drew Urban, INF, Sun Prairie, 2021
2021 graduate playing against 2020s. 6-foot, 180-pound right handed hitting infielder. Played third base and batted seventh against 815. At the dish, tall and open setup, smooth load, short stride. Short and uphill bat path. Went 1-for-3 on the day, including a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the 5th inning that gave Thundercat the lead for good. 

Riley Zirbel, MIF, Lake Mills, 2020
One of the top uncommitted shortstops in the state. 5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic Against 815, he played short and batted in the three hole. Finished the game 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, a pair of walks, and a pair of runs. At the plate, wide stance, leg lift stride, maintains balance through contact. Slightly uphill path, quick bat speed created by quick and loose hands.

Bay Port

James Bornick, SS, Bay Port, 2021
Long and lean, left-handed hitting infielder. Started at shortstop and hit cleanup for Bay Port. Offensively, starts open, stride works back to even, stays inside the baseball and uses the whole field to hit. Had a big offensive day on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with two triples, two RBI and a run scored. His first triple of the day was a line-drive to left field and his second triple was lined to right. Defensively, made an impressive play ranging to his backhand, planting and making a strong accurate throw across the diamond for a 6-3 putout. 

Brady Snyder, RHP, Bay Port, 2020
Set to graduate in 2020 after skipping a grade in high school. Tall/fall delivery, tall balance point, works in line, lands square. Long and loose arm action, throws from a high 3/4 window. Arm works out front. Fastball played straight, sat 70-72 mph, touched 74 mph. Curveball at 58-60 mph. CB 11/5 shape with depth and gradual action. Flashed a changeup at 65-66 mph with fading movement. Finished with a complete game, 3 ER, 5 K, 2 BB.

Brew State Baseball Academy

Luke Wroblewski, OF, Sussex Hamilton, 2021
Productive in the Lead off role. Center fielder for Brew State went 1-1 with two walks against Edge Baseball. Presents an athletic frame with some present strength and speed. Shows the ability to play a solid defensive center field covering ground from gap to gap. Shows an advanced approach at the plate being a prototypical leadoff man with some possible power to come in the future.

CBT

George Henkel, RHP/3B, Hartford Union, 2021
Big 6-foot-1, 185-pound RHP showed well on the mound on Saturday. Henkel releases from a ¾ arm slot and gets down the mound with good back leg push. From the stretch, starts slightly open and lands even. Henkel showed a four-pitch arsenal including a fastball that sat 78-79 mph and topped out at 80 mph, a sweeping slider consistently at 69 mph, a curveball at 67 mph, and a change up.

Carter Stebane, INF, Brillion, 2021
Stebane was very productive from the leadoff spot for CBT on Saturday afternoon. The right handed hitting, athletically built shortstop, took two balls to right field a double and a single respectively. He showed good power/carry on the double, and flashed hard contact again on the line drive single. He scored one of CBT’s two runs and was one of only two players with multiple hits on the afternoon. 

Edge Baseball

Drew Anderson, INF, Madison West, 2021
5-foot-11, 165-pound right/right prospect with lean/athletic build. Showed an impressive feel to hit on Friday in his team’s game against Team Heat. His loose/athletic hands help him turn around fastballs and stay back on, and subsequently barrel, curveballs left hanging in the zone. He launched a deep double to the left field fence on a breaking ball left up.

Jacob Kisting, RHP, Verona Area (WI), 2021
An uncommitted RHP, Kisting stands at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, lanky and long-limbed. Came on in relief in Edge’s Friday opener. Slight wrap on the back side. Pitches from a ¾ to a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball ranged 78-79 mph with downward action. Worked a fading changeup in the low 70’s. Struck out two in his inning of work against ISA.

James Rae, INF, Verona Area, 2021
6-foot-1, 195-pound right/right prospect with proportional strength throughout frame. A quick load back and balanced, powerful swing helps him create some leverage and hard-hit contact with barrel feel.

Justin Hausser, 1B/RHP, DeForest, 2021
Hausser boasts a thick, durable 6-foot, 220-pound frame with a powerful lower half. At the plate, balanced, sturdy setup. Slight bend at the knees. Minimal pre-pitch body and hand movement. Hands stay close to body in load position. Leg kick, gets front foot down ready to swing. Uphill bat path with quick, aggressive swings through the zone. Prototypical middle-of-the-order hitter. Went 9-for-14 on the weekend, squaring pitches up for multiples extra-base hits. Knocked in six runners on the weekend.

Mason Kirchberg, INF, DeForest, 2021
6-foot, 190-pound, right-handed hitting infielder; strong, defined lower half. Started at shortstop and hit in the two hole. At the plate, present bat speed and bat strength. 

Brigs Richartz, C, Menomonie, 2021
5-foot-9, 155 pound left-handed hitting catcher. Batted third in his team’s lineup on Saturday against Sluggers Baseball. Richartz went 2 for 3 with 2 triples and 4 RBIs. He has an open setup with a short stride that brings himself even, a slightly uphill bat path, and a gap-to-gap approach at the plate. He maintains loose hands to generate quick bat speed and an overall fluid swing. Defensively, Richartz recorded a 2.07 pop time in between innings.

Carter Wambach, 3B, Sun Prairie, 2021
6-foot-1, 185 pound left-handed hitter. Batted sixth in the lineup on Saturday against Sluggers Baseball. Wambach went 2 for 2 with a double, a triple, and 2 RBIs. Both hits were driven down the right field line. He has an open setup with a short stride, minimal load, and a fluid, loose swing. 

Illinois Dynasty Blue

Nolan Nemanich, 3B/RHP, Joliet West (IL), 2021
Penciled in as the DH, the righty reached base in both of his at bats. Nemanich collected a walk in his first at bat, and supplied an offensive spark with a 2RBI, hard hit, single up the middle in his second at bat. Nemanich got the 5-run rally going in the third inning and later came around to score against Next Level during the nightcap on Saturday. 

Nathan Sommerfeld, RHP/C, Plainfield Central (IL), 2021
Sommerfeld got the start for Illinois Dynasty during their second game on Saturday night. The righty hit for himself out of the three hole reaching base in two of his three at bats including a walk where he later came around to score. On the mound, he collected the win and had 5 Ks in his four innings of work scattering two hits and two walks, allowing 0 runs. The RHP worked from the stretch, starting slightly closed and used a medium leg kick. A tall and fall pitcher that showed two pitches, a fastball at 75-77mph topping out at 78mph and a curveball that sat 66mph. 

ISA Stars Black

Ridge Guyette, CIF/DH, Hilbert, 2021
Batted in the three-hole and was the designated hitter for ISA, also going 3-for-4 against Sluggers. Reached base on two hard-hit singles and another booming double to the left-center field gap. Has an aggressive approach at the plate, regularly getting his swing off on pitches in the zone, creating backspin. In gameplay against 815 Baseball, Gyette played first base and went 2-for-4 as well with a booming double to left-center field and a hard-hit singles to left field which resulted in an RBI. Even his outs were hit hard as in his final at bat he flew out to deep left field.

Jacob Koski, RHP, Home School (WI), 2020
Threw a complete game in ISA Stars Black’s victory over CBT. In control from the first inning on. Fastball, curveball, change up mix, flashing control of all his pitches. Fastball was 75-77 mph with some cutting action, curveball 64-65 mph with a mix of 11/5- 10/4 shape, and a change up at 68 mph with fade. Changeup proved to be his go to out pitch when needed.

Bailey Prevost, OF/C, DePere, 2021
Prevost had a solid afternoon at the plate for ISA Stars Black on Saturday. He registered 3 hits in 4 at bats including two singles and a double. He showed the ability to stay on the ball and go the other way with his double to the right center field gap. The quick center fielder displayed his speed converting on his only defensive chance and adding a stolen base during the 4-0 win over the Thundercats.

Jourdon Schuyler, OF, West De Pere, 2021
Played left field and batted in the two hole in action against Sluggers 2021, going 3-for-4 on the day with an RBI and was a home run shy of the cycle. Presents a strong athletic frame, regularly forces hard contact when putting the ball in play. Tends to hit off front side at times but is strong enough to compensate.

Easton Vertz, RHP, Pulaski, 2021
Was virtually unhittable allowing only 2 hits and 2 walks. Vertz works out of a high ¾ arm slot and flashed some arm whip. He sat 79-80 throughout the entirety of the game with his fastball and touched 82 in the third inning. He also showed a slider that had 11/5 movement at 72-74 and a changeup that dropped out of the zone at 69-71. The 6-foot-1, 215lb righty finished the game with 7 Ks.

ISA Stars White

Parker Knoll, INF/OF, Fox Valley Lutheran, 2021
Athletic, strong build. Right-handed hitting third baseman that hit out of the three-hole for ISA Stars 16U White. Balanced setup, smooth load, long stride. Simple and compact swing, level path through the baseball, rhythm through contact, knack for making contact with the baseball. Went 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI. 

SHB Kards

Evan Long, RHP, Tomah, 2021
We just had the pleasure of seeing RHP Evan Long at the Underclass Trials last month and he was more or less the same – which is to say he was really sharp. He started against Sluggers Baseball and went the distance in the team’s run-ruled 12-0 win that took four innings. He really only needed his fastball, which he located exceptionally well, right at the top of the zone, and hitters could not catch up. Long kept that fastball sitting in the 78-81 mph range, touching 82 mph multiple times as the game went on, but his ability to locate and stay closed helped make it play up.

Boone Mathison, OF, Tomah, 2021
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound right/right outfielder was also in attendance at last month’s Underclass Trials, where his twitch/athleticism played in every element of his game. Mathison operated as Kards’ lead-off hitter throughout the tournament and primarily played center field, where he showed an instinctual feel to chase down fly balls from gap to gap. His well-above-average foot speed plays well in the outfield and on the basepaths, too. At the plate, he demonstrates some bat strength on a short/uphill path.

Kaden Thurmond, RHP, Bloomer, 2021
Right handed pitcher who started on the mound against STiKS Academy Red on Friday. Has a short arm action out of a ¾ slot. Drop and drive delivery and finishes by landing with his front toe square to home plate. Fastball played straight and sat 77-80 mph, topping out at 81 mph. Curveball held 11/5 shape and was 65 mph. 

Next Level Baseball

Felipe De Avila, SS/RHP, Woodstock North (IL), 2021
The versatile 5-foot-10 righty showed well both in the field and at the plate on Saturday night. Showed consistent soft hands, strong over the top throws across the diamond, and good lateral range at SS. Also came on in relief for Next Level collecting 2 Ks in his inning of work. He showed two pitches including a predominantly straight fastball and sweeping slider. The fastball sat 77-79 mph while the slider ranged from 67-69. On the mound, has a high leg kick and an over the top delivery. At the plate De Avila added a triple to the right center gap that showed hard contact and slight carry. 

Trey Braun, 2B, Poplar Grove (IL), 2021
The Next Level two hole hitter had a productive night at the plate on Saturday night. The 5-foot-9 righty showed poise in the box with controlled takes in all four of his at bats. He also barrelled two balls right back up the middle and collected an RBI finishing the game 2-4. Braun works from a slightly open stance and has a small load/kick that gains little ground.

PBA

Kyler Arias, C, Antioch (IL), 2021
One infielder that stood out amongst his peers was Kyler Arias (Antioch, WI) of PBA 16U. Arias went 3-for-6 with three doubles and two RBIs. The right-handed hitting Arias consistently peppered the right-field wall, showing a willingness to take pitches the other way. Arias made hard contact all day long, even when he got out, and has true power potential in his swing.

Taylor Brauer, LHP, Union Grove, 2021
Lean, projectible build. 6-foot, 160 pound left-handed pitcher. Started against STiKS Academy Black 16U on Saturday afternoon. Athletic delivery, short draw, tight window, high ¾ slot. Works in line with his target, square landing, consistent with his delivery. Fastball touched 76 mph, sat between 72-74 mph, flashed run, was occasionally thrown up in the zone for a swing-and-miss pitch. Curveball played at 62-66 mph, 1/7 shape, gradual action, thrown with fastball arm speed. Projectible left-handed pitcher with more left in the tank as he fills out.

Brady Katterhagen, C/MIF, Union Grove, 2021
Lean, athletic build. 5-foot-9, 155 pound left-handed hitter. Primarily hit out of the two-hole for PBA 16U. Balanced setup, smooth load, short stride with a slight leg lift. Quick hands, level path through the zone, stays inside the baseball, sneaky juice in his bat, consistently made hard contact, fluid rhythm through contact. Went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly on Friday afternoon against Next Level. 

Kaden Pfeffer, LHP, Union Grove, 2021
Long, projectible build. 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-handed pitcher. Started against Next Level Baseball on Friday afternoon. Tall/fall type delivery, long arm action, high ¾ slot. Square landing, works in line with his target, repeated his delivery. Tossed four scoreless innings, struck out three, walked two. Fastball sat between 73-75 mph, reached 76 mph, played straight. Curveball was 63-65 mph, 1/7 shape, thrown for strikes, showed feel for pitch, generated consistent swing-and-miss, feel for pitch. Projectible left-handed pitcher as he matures.

Max Tindall, SS, Indian Trail, 2021
Athletic, well-defined build. 5-foot-9, 150 pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Primarily hit 10th for PBA 16U. Balanced setup, short stride, leg lift. Uphill path through the zone, simple and compact swing, knack for making contact with the baseball. Impressed defensively at shortstop. Showed a feel for himself at the position, active feet, soft hands, clean exchange to rapid release. Was able to make plays to both his glove and arm side, controlled his body well, plays athletically in the field. Has the tools necessary to be a solid defensive shortstop moving forward. 

RakeCity

Tyler Arista, C, York (IL), 2021
The RakeCity backstop was responsible for 4 of his teams’ 10 runs on Saturday night. From the right handed batter box, he showed the ability to stay through the low outside pitch and take it the other way. Arista finished the game 2-3 with two hard hit singles, a sac fly and 4 RBI. From behind the dish, clocked a 2.37 pop. 

Josh Colon, SS/2B, Lyons Township (IL), 2021
The middle infielder showed smooth hands and a strong arm across the diamond on Saturday. Colon showed athletic redirection, and a quick release on a deflected 1-6-3 groundout. At the plate, reached base and scored on all three chances. He finished the game with a single to left field and an RBI.

Wayne Karlstedt, 2B, Saint Viator (IL), 2021
The Rake City lead off hitter had an impressive 3RBI night vs CBT on Saturday. Smooth swing and good barrel control through the zone allows for hard contact to all fields. He collected two singles, up the middle and to right field respectively in the RakeCity 10-2 win. Had a lot of action at second base and made every play with ease flashing soft hands and a quick release to first.

Timmy Ward, 1B, St. Ignatius (IL), 2021
Lanky and projectable frame. Hits from a slightly open stance, short leg kick, smooth load.Short bat path paired with quick hands has translated to consistent hard contact. Lets the ball travel, middle-opposite field approach. Found barrels in his first two at-bats Friday night, including an inside-the-park grand slam on a shot to left-center field. In the field, showed soft hands by making scoops on a couple of tough hops.

Rhino (WI)

Jaden Hackbarth, SS, Neenah, 2021
The short athletically built shortstop was impressive in the Saturday afternoon contest. Hackbarth was a vacuum in the field showing plus hands and a quick release across the diamond. Took a vocal leadership role during the game, naturally communicating and taking charge. He also collected one of Rhino’s three hits. He stayed on an outside fastball and took it the opposite way with solid contact.

Nicholas LaVigne, C, Appleton West, 2021
Rhino WI defeated ISA Stars White on Friday afternoon with the help of LaVigne at the plate. The 6-foot, right-handed hitting catcher turned in a solid performance at the plate, drilling a triple into the left-center gap in his second at-bat and demolishing a home run over the left field fence in his final plate appearance. He looked the part defensively as well, playing athletically behind the plate and displaying a strong blocking ability. LaVigne also stood out at the plate Sunday morning against Team Heat, showing off his present bat strength. His first swing of the day sent a ball well over the left field wall for a 2-run home run. In his next at bat, he found another barrel for an RBI single through the left side of the infield. He finished the game 2-for-3 with 4 RBI. He sets up in a slightly open stance with a toe tap stride and smooth loading action. His short and level bat path along with loose and quick hands create quick bat speed. 

Cameron Miller, UTIL/C, Kimberly, 2021
Athletic build. 5-foot-9, 150-pound right-handed hitting utility player. Hit in the two-hole for Rhino (WI) against ISA Stars 16U White. Balanced setup, short stride with a leg lift. Hands are in a strong hitting position, level path through the baseball, simple and compact swing, showed plate discipline, consistently made hard contact. Game-changing speed on the bases, scored from first on a double into the left-center gap. Went 3-for-3 with three singles and an RBI. 

Cayden Schuh, RHP, Appleton North, 2021
Muscular build. 5-foot-9, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. Came in relief against ISA Stars 16U. Drop/drive delivery, works in line with his target, lands slightly closed, feel for himself on the mound. Long and loose arm action, over-the-top slot, some effort in delivery, ball comes out of his hand easy. Fastball touched 81 mph, sat between 79-80 mph with life. Curveball was 65-66 mph, 11/5 shape, sharp action, thrown for strikes. Tossed 3 ⅓ innings in relief, striking out four and walking one.

Payton Wright, RHP/INF, Winnecone, 2021
Strong, well-proportioned build. 5-foot-11, 190-pound right-handed pitcher/infielder. Started on the mound against ISA Stars 16U. Finished the weekend 3-for-8 with a double, a run scored, two runs driven in, and four walks. 

Cameron Taylor, 3B, Waunakee, 2021
6-foot-1, 185-pound right handed hitting corner infielder. Hit at a variety of spots throughout the lineup over the course of the weekend. At the plate, sets up in an open stance, leg lift stride, bat wraps slightly while loading. Long and uphill bat path through the zone. Finished the weekend 4-for-10 with a triple, a walk, a pair of RBIs, and drew three walks. 

STiKS Academy Black

Bobby Ball, SS, Brookfield Central, 2021
Lean, athletic, defined lower-half. Right-handed hitting shortstop. Tall setup, narrow base, leg kick, long stride. Level path to the baseball. Stood out defensively at shortstop, soft hands, clean exchange, releases the ball quickly, strong arm, feel for his glove, natural defensive instincts. Made every play hit to him, showed range, good control of his body, played athletically in the field. Silky smooth defensively with all the tools to be an elite defensive shortstop in the 2021 class.

Anthony Gross, C/OF, Catholic Memorial, 2021
The STiKS Black backstop impressed with speed on both offense and defense on Saturday. Hitting in the leadoff spot he showed good footspeed out of the box. From behind the plate, showed good quick footwork on blocks and throws. Gross flashed a 2.19 pop with a quick release. Lean, athletic build. Right-handed hitter. Slightly open, balanced setup, minimal load, short stride, active hands pre-pitch. Level path to the baseball, rhythm through contact. Above-average speed for his age, showed natural instincts on the bases. Did not see any balls in the outfield. Hit out of the leadoff spot for STiKS Black 16U on Friday morning and went 2-for-2 with a walk. 

Alex Hayes, LHP/1B, Muskego, 2021
Hayes was very impressive on the mound for STiKS Black during his complete game shutout on Saturday. He showed a three pitch arsenal including a fastball, changeup, and curveball. Hayes commanded all three pitches for strikes allowing only three hits and one walk. His fastball was consistent at 81-82mph and reared back for one that topped 85mph. Changeup at fastball arm speed 74-75mph and curveball was 68-70mph. The #2 ranked southpaw in the WI 2021 class works from an effortless motion with an over the top motion and a high leg kick. At 6-foot-1, 195 pounds he uses his strong lower half well to drive down the mound. Hayes finished the game with 6 Ks four of them looking, 

Q Phillips, OF, Brookfield East, 2021
Strong, well-proportioned frame. Switch hitting outfielder. Balanced setup, smooth load, leg lift, long stride with a toe-tap. Quick hands, fluid swing, rhythm through contact. Defensively, impressed in center field with his route running and ability to track down the baseball, quick first step, reads the ball well off the bat. Went 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly for STiKS Black 16U on Friday morning as their two hitter. 

Grant Ross, INF/RHP, Pewaukee, 2021
The five-hole DH reached base in all three of his at bats on Saturday. Ross showed plus takes on both of his first two at bats resulting in walks. Ross also flashed hard contact on a single hit right back up the middle. He added a stolen base and two runs scored on the night as well. Strong, athletic build. Right-handed hitting middle infielder. Balanced setup, high leg kick, long stride. Aggressive swing goes up to the plate ready to hit, quick hands, sneaky pop in swing, confident in himself. Went 1-for-2 as the five-hole hitter for STIKS Friday morning with a home run over the left field fence. Started on the mound Saturday morning against PBA 16U. Drop/drive type delivery, lands closed, slightly throws across his body. Long and loose arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball touched 84 mph, sat between 81-83 mph with occasional run. Curveball was thrown with a decelerated arm, 11/5 shape, sat between 70-72 mph. Tossed five scoreless innings, striking out seven and walking one. 

Joey Spence, C, West Bend East, 2021
The No. 2 overall player in the Wisconsin 2021 class, went 5-for-5 with two extra-base hits and a walk over a two-game span on Saturday afternoon. The left-handed hitting catcher drilled a triple to center field in his second at-bat of the day and followed that up by hammering a double to the right-field wall in his third at-bat. He’s one of the top-ranked players in the Wisconsin 2021 class and is a high-follow. 

Drew Stippich, RHP, Kettle Moraine, 2021
6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Low effort delivery, excellent balance and repeatability, stays on line with feel for the strike zone. Fastball topped at 85 mph, sat 82-85 mph with arm side run, above average control. Curveball played tight with 10/4 shape, 74-76 mph. Flashed changeup at 75 mph.

Brady Ahn, MIF, Marquette University, 2021
Athletic, well-proportioned build. Right-handed hitting MIF. Worked out of the five spot for STiKS Red against Bay Port 16U. Balanced setup, smooth load, short stride with a slight leg lift, stays balanced. Level path through the baseball, quality approach at the plate, showed pitch recognition by sitting back on a curveball and poking it into right field for a base hit. Defensively, natural actions for a shortstop. Feel for his glove, smooth hands, clean exchange, strong arm. Feel for his body, played athletically in the field. Went 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.

Logan LeTourneau, 2B, Brookfield East, 2021
Right-handed hitting middle infielder. Batted fourth in the lineup in his team’s matchup against SHB Kards on Friday. Letourneau went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He has a balanced setup, where a lot of movement is present in his hands and front foot. This is followed by a leg lift stride, smooth load, and line-drive approach at the plate.

Chase Ketterhagen, C, Burlington (WI), 2021
Strong build. Right-handed hitting catcher. Hit third in the lineup for STiKS Red against Bay Port 16U. Slightly open, balanced setup, minimal load, short stride. Short, uphill path to the baseball, elevates the ball well, some rhythm in swing. Went 1-for-2 with a double, a sacrifice fly, stolen base, and a walk.

Quinn Baier, OF/MIF, Sauk Prairie, 2021
Lean, athletic build. Left-handed hitting cleanup hitter for Team Heat. Balanced setup, short stride, slight leg lift, stays balanced through contact. Quick hands, level path through the baseball, fluid swing. Went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. 

Chase Ignatius, RHP, Barneveld, 2022 
Turned in a solid performance on the mound for Team Heat 16U. In a shortened game due to run rule, the 2022 graduate was playing up for his age and tossed four innings of one-run ball, striking out one and walking two. Ignatius ran his fastball up to 86 mph and sat between 80-84 mph with his heater. He showed feel for an 11/5 curveball that played at 66-70 mph and also displayed a changeup thrown with fastball arm speed that ranged between 72-74 mph. 

Brody Tschanz, RHP, Waterloo, 2021 
Competed through seven shutout innings for Team Heat in a victory over ISA Stars Black 16U. He operated from a deceptive ¾ arm slot and mixed in a curveball well with his two-seam and four-seam fastball. His four-seam topped out at 75 mph and sat between 73-74 mph with run, while his two-seam reached 71 mph and operated at 68-70 mph with run and was located well. He showed feel for the breaking ball and threw it for strikes, 11/5 shape, played between 68-70 mph.

Thundercat Baseball

John Ferguson, C, Verona Area, 2021
The Thundercat backstop showed good quiet body control during his game vs ISA Black. The Verona Area product used his quiet body and good form to keep his blocks close to the plate, and recovered well. He also recorded one of the two hits in the game barreling up a line drive over the shortstops head. He was the only player to reach base twice in the game, recording a walk in his final at bat.

Brew State Baseball Academy

Will Cape, SS, Wauwatosa West, 2021
A lean/athletic build. A confident and reliable defender at shortstop for Brew State with above-average actions for his age and the position. Hit in the middle of the order for his team all tournament and went a combined 6-for-12. His short, level and quick bat helps him produce consistent line-drive contact.

Caleb Rogosienski, 1B, Mukwonago, 2021
Played a pivotal role in Brew State Baseball’s 10-3 victory over ISA Stars. The right-handed hitting first baseman went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. He roped a triple to left field in his first at-bat of the ball game and followed that up by crushing a double to dead centerfield in his fourth appearance. Rogosienski has a simple swing, stays level through the zone, sneaky pop.

Jon Showalter, DH, Arrowhead, 2022
Showalter had two extra base hits in the nightcap on Friday. The 6-foot-1 righty showed off plus speed for a big guy, getting out of the box well and legging out a double and a triple, both hard hit line drives to the right center field gap. He also collected an RBI and a stolen base.

CBT

Diego Ceballos, OF, Fon du Lac, 2022
Ceballos had a big weekend going 5 for 10 in his team’s four games including a walk off single in the seventh inning against STiKS Academy Red. He has an open setup with little to no stride and a smooth load. He has a line drive approach at the plate with most of his base hits finding the middle of the field. His short, level path to the baseball allows for quick bat speed and produces hard contact on the ball. He also showcased his speed on the base path by running a 4.45 home to first time.

Jalen Gellings, C, Campbellsport, 2022
Gellings had a solid afternoon session for CBT at Waunakee High School. The three-hole hitter reached base all three times he came to the plate in a run-ruled shortened game. Gellings hit a two-run home run over the left center field wall that showed plus carry off the bat. He collected another RBI in his next at bat with a double to centerfield. He also showed well behind the plate throwing out a base stealer with a 2.24 pop time. 

Zac Jurmu, DH, Shawano, 2022
Jurmu was the CBT designated hitter on Friday morning. He showed hard contact knocking a triple to the right center field gap that showed some carry, and added a hard hit ground ball through the ⅚ hole. He added two of CBT’s runs during their run rule shortened game against the Milwaukee Angels. The righty works from a closed stance and loads with a small stride.

Eau Claire A’s

Cole Bakkum, RHP/3B, Eau Claire North, 2022
5-foot-11, 165-pound, well-proportioned, right-handed pitcher. Started on the mound in game one for Eau Claire. Arm works clean and from an over-the-top slot; arm action projects. Fastball works mostly four-seam and at the top of the zone, sat 76-78 mph. 

Ashton Crowell, OF, Eau Claire North, 2022
Led off and played center field for Eau Claire. Natural defender in center field. Quick first step, concise routes, made a couple of plays hit towards the gap look routine. Offensively, right-handed hitter, walked twice and stole a base.

Kyler Bainer, 2B, Spencer, 2022
Athletically-built, left-handed hitting infielder. Played second base and led off. At the plate, open setup, pre-pitch rhythm and stays within himself. Loose, athletic hands, works short to the ball and stays flat through the zone. In the second game of the day on Thursday went 2-for-3 with a single and a double. Defensively, soft, confident hands, easy actions and maintains body control on the move. Arm plays loose and accurate across the diamond. Follow 2022 left-handed hitting infielder. 

Sam Brennan, RHP, Eau Claire Memorial, 2021
Shut out Sluggers Baseball 2022. Used a mid- to-upper-60s fastball and deceptive delivery to dodge barrels all day. Finished the start with a complete-game shutout, going seven full innings only allowing three hits and three walks total, striking out three – he finished the game having retired seven straight.

Jalen Pascal, RHP, Eau Claire, 2022
Lean, wiry, right-handed pitcher. Started on the mound. Quick, loose, live arm action from a high ¾ slot; projects for more velocity down the road. Rotational delivery, works across his body. Fastball comes out of hand easy and clean, works mostly straight, sat 73-79 mph, mostly 78-79 in the first inning. Curveball, thrown aggressively, 11/5 shape, depth and above-average sping for age. 

GRB Rays Green

Theo Zeidler, IF/RHP, Bay Port, 2022
In one of the evening’s highest scoring affairs, Zeidler’s performance at the plate aided in GRB Rays victory over PBA 15U. Zeidler went 2-for-2 at the plate with 4 RBIs, including a walk-off walk to secure the victory for his team. The right-handed hitting Ziedler drilled a triple off the center field wall and followed that up with a hard hit line-drive single to right field.

Ryan Karst, RHP, Brookfield East, 2022
6-foot-2, 175-pound, strong, highly-athletic build. Started on the mound and threw a seven-inning complete game. Fanned seven and allowed two hits. Repeatable delivery, works with rhythm and on-line, landing front-toe closed. Arm is clean and compact, out of a high ¾ slot, quick out front. Fastball gets hard run and sink at times, will straighten out to the glove side; sat 80-82 mph. Went to his curveball often to keep hitters off balance and to finish them off; manipulated shape between 11/5 and 10/4, feel, sat 67-68 mph.

Jonathan Kim, CF, Brookfield Academy, 2022
5-foot-10, 180-pound, strong, compact, left/left, outfielder. Stood out for GRB-MKE in their first game of the tournament. Hits in the two-hole and finished 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Simple approach, stays quiet, lets the ball travel and has easy quick-twitch and bat speed in swing. Uses the middle of the field, controls the barrel and consistently made hard contact. Defensively, natural in the outfield, smooth actions. High-follow 2022 prospect. 

GRB Rays Yellow

N.J. Elias, INF, Verona, 2022
5-foot-9, 155 pound right handed hitting shortstop. Has a quick bat working off a level path, geared for gap-to-gap contact. He is talented top-of-the-order type who expertly set the table for GRB Yellow 15U on Friday morning. Elias went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a single, all finding left field. 

David Matuszak, 2B/OF, N/A (WI), 2022
Has advanced barrel awareness for his age, which helps him redirect the ball to all fields with line-drive contact. He hit in the two-hole for GRB Rays Yellow 15U on Friday and used a simple, repeatable approach to line several balls right back up the middle from the right-handed batter’s box.

Wyatt Miles, RHP, DC Everest, 2022
Started the morning contest for GRB Rays Yellow 15U and showed a quick arm out of a ¾ slot that helped him sit in the 76-79 mph range for the first couple innings. The arm slot and action helped him generate solid arm-side run on his fastball, and its velocity settled into the 74-76 mph range as the game progressed. Miles was also mixing in a slider, 69-70 mph, that flashed sharp/late bite. He works quick, rocking into his motion, shoulders have a tendency to open up, and he lands open/toe-open, too.

Cuyler Zukowski, OF, Madison LaFollette, 2022
5-foot-11, 165 pound right-handed hitting center fielder. Went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs in his team’s matchup against Next Level Baseball on Friday. Zukowski has a slightly open stance with a short stride, his hands load back, and then has an uphill path to the baseball. On the mound, Lean and high-waisted. Started for GRB in their first Badger State Battle matchup. On the mound, has a clean delivery. Long on the backside. Balanced throughout delivery. Fastball sat 77-79, topped at 80. Has been mid-80’s at a previous event earlier this year. Changeup worked 74-75, a go-to off-speed for Zukowski.

ISA Stars Royal

Caden Capomaccio, INF, Notre Dame Academy, 2022
The ISA Stars moved Capomaccio to the clean up spot this weekend after batting him second at PBR At The Rock a few weekends ago. The ISA shortstop flashed an impressive glove over the weekend. He showed good glove work and a strong throw across the diamond on a run through play on Friday morning. At the plate, the right handed hitter works from a slightly closed stance and recorded one of only four ISA hits on Friday, hitting a line drive down the left field line. 

Jaicee Foster, MIF/OF, Green Bay Southwest, 2022
Batting in the two-hole hit a booming home run to left field as well as lining out to short and contributing a hard-hit single. Foster presents a strong athletic build with present strength, pull-side power potential in the near future. This is the second homer we’ve seen of his already this summer, the last one coming a few weeks back at The Rock in Franklin, Wis. Foster’s swing can get a little long, but his fast and strong hands allow for him to barrel baseballs with authority on the regular, into each gap. He’s also a savvy baserunner who’s constantly picking his spots to snag an extra base. His on-field IQ in combination with his powerful bat make him a high-follow prospect in the state’s 2022 class.

John Nickel, OF, Bay Port, 2022
6-foot-4, 160 pound right-handed hitter. Went 2-for-2 against ISA Stars with two singles, a walk, and an RBI. A simple and smooth load back, short and level path to the ball with bat speed. His thin/large frame helps safely project for much harder contact in the future, if he’s able to add muscle and weight as he develops. His feel to hit is present, which has made him an intriguing bat to follow in the state’s ‘22 class, given his highly projectable frame.

SHB Kards

Austin Baker, INF, Eau Claire Memorial, 2022
Baker opened eyes in his game against Silver Sluggers Blue. The SHB Kards shortstop reached base and scored during both of his at bats collecting a barreled single to left field and a walk. At the plate works from a slightly open stance and gets his hands to the ball quickly. Showed above average skills in the field. He displayed good range to both sides laterally, making plays on both sides of second base. Also came in on the ball well and worked with good footwork and soft hands. Sealed the win with a strong throw across the diamond on a slow roller. His physical ability is paired well with above average baseball smarts and instincts. Baker projects to be a high follow quickly. As talented as he his on defense and at the plate, he might be an even better prospect on the mound. He pitched on Friday against the Milwaukee Angels and showed a really loose and easy arm that sat in the upper-70s all game, touching 80 mph a couple times. His fastball featured hard run, advanced action for his age, and he mixed in a sweeping slider that has swing-and-miss potential as he continues to develop and sharpen the pitch. 

Gabriel Richardson, 3B, Eau Claire North, 2022
The 2018 Junior Futures Game participant continued to impress at the Badger State Battle. The big and athletically built third basemen has an even/balanced stance. Loads with a small kick and slight bat wrap that generates good power. Kept his hands inside the baseball well on a double down the left field line during a 6-0 win over Silver Sluggers Blue.

Walker Retz, OF/MIF, Boyceville, 2021
In day two of action Retz batted in the two hole and played center field for Kards 15U vs. Milwaukee Angles 15u. Retz continues to show a good approach at the plate, smooth in all his actions both in the batter’s box and in the field. 2-3 on the day with a base hit up the middle and a line drive triple over the center fielders head.

Milwaukee Angels

Anthony Lausten, INF/RHP, Hartford, 2022
5-foot-6, 120-pound, lean, left-handed hitting infielder with plenty of room for continued physical development. Led off and started at shortstop. At the plate, open setup, smooth pre-pitch rhythm and typical leadoff type; takes a lot of pitches, rarely chases out of the zone. Finished 0-for-1 with three walks, an RBI, three stolen bases and a run scored. Defensively, fluid actions soft hands and ranges to both sides. Arm works long and loose, flashed carry across the diamond. Also, came out of the bullpen. Long, loose, quick arm action. Fastball sat 75-76 mph. Mixed in a 11/5 curveball at 64-66 mph. 

Next Level Baseball

Nico Acevedo, C/SS, Crystal Lake Central (IL), 2022
5-foot-10, 185-pound, strong-bodied, multi-positional prospect. Caught in the first game and played shortstop in the second. Natural behind the plate but has the athleticism to play on the infield as well. Behind the plate, moves well for size, clean and quick out of the crouch, reliable hands. Short arm action, strong arm strength and not afraid to show it off. Offensively, present bat strength, natural lift in swing. Doubled to left field and tripled to right field in the second game of the day. 

PBA

Austin LaBreche, OF, Tremper, 2021
Leadoff man and center fielder. Shows plus speed, can get bat to ball consistently with the sweet spot. Prototypical lead off man at the next level, gets on base, good base runner. Plays bigger than size, ability to get the ball in the gaps consistently, especially when size is added to frame.

Kaileb Lyon, RHP, Tremper, 2021
Lyon got the start on the mound on Saturday and threw six innings of one-run ball. Lyon has a long, projectable, 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with plenty of room for added strength. The long-limbed right-hander has a long arm action the works over the top with extension out front at times. His fastball touched 79 mph multiple times in the first and settled in anywhere from 75-78. He attacked primarily with his fastball throughout that has downward tilt. Lyon struck out eight through his six innings of work. He will be one to watch in the future as he continues to grow into his frame.

Rhino (WI)

Aidan Slattery, INF, N/A, 2022
Lean, athletic build. Right-handed hitting MIF/P that worked out of the three-hole for Rhino (WI). Slightly open, balanced setup, short stride with a leg lift. Hands start up in a good hitting position, level path through the baseball. Went 2-for-2 against STiKS Black 15U with a triple to his pull-side. 

Silver Sluggers Blue

Stephen Paulsen, C, Middleton, 2022
The leadoff hitter got the start behind the plate for Silver Sluggers Blue vs SHB Kards. The backstop recorded pop times of 2.31 and 2.34. At the plate he tallied two singles and showed speed out of the box and adding a stolen base. Paulsen was the only Silver Slugger to record a multi hit game vs SHB Kards. 

Cooper Roberts, SS, Portage, 2022
Started at shortstop and hit in the two hole. Made a number of above-average plays at shortstop throughout, especially to his gloveside. Maintains body control on the move, reliable hands and savvy defender. Offensively, doubled over the right-fielders head in his final at-bat. Also, ran a 4.79 home-to-first on a groundout earlier in the game.

Sluggers Baseball

Dominik McVay, RHP, Mineral Point (WI), 2022
5-foot-10 right-hander who put together a stellar start for Sluggers Baseball 2022 on Friday. McVay frequently changed speeds, playing off his hard 80-83 mph fastball, which featured slight/late run. The Pointer also showed a feel to mix in a two-seam offering, 76-77 mph, with greater lateral movement. His offspeed consisted of a firm changeup, 73-74 mph, and a slider, 71-74 mph, that he demonstrated a better feel for as the game went on. That slider was of the sweeping type with above-average movement and control for his age; not afraid to throw it to lefties or in any count. McVay side-step rocks into his motion, works from ¾ slot with arm speed, and lands closed with a recoil finish.

STiKS Academy Black

Braydon Cooper, RHP, Catholic Memorial, 2022
Cooper has an athletic 6-foot-2, 180-pound build. On the mound, pitches out of a ¾ slot. Clean delivery with a fluid arm motion throughout. Works downhill. Tossed three shutout innings allowing one hit in relief for STiKS. He struck out six in this appearance. FB runs with arm-side action at 78-80 mph; has been up to 82 mph earlier this year at West Milwaukee Preseason ID. Cooper took the mound again in the STiKS Championship Game on Sunday where he reached back for a tick better on the fastball, topping at 83 mph. Cooper continues to show improvement in his repeatability and feel for the zone.

Rory Fox RHP/INF, Catholic Memorial, 2022
The righty was almost unhittable in his start in the afternoon session for 15U Stiks Black. He allowed 2 hits and an unearned run in the 11-2 win over ISA. He finished with 11 Ks in his 5 innings of work. He also broke the game open at the plate knocking a 3 RBI double to the right field wall. Fox finished 2-3 with a 2B and 3RBI. On Friday night, he continued his tear at the plate reaching base twice. The left handed hitter flashed hard pull side contact with an RBI single through the right side. Fox goes to work from a slightly open, tall stance and has a short to long through swing.

Aiden Haney, 2B, Catholic Memorial, 2022
Haney led off for the for STiKS Black throughout the weekend. The speedster showed above average speed recording a 4.40 home to first time from the right handed batters box and reached base on an infield single. He works from a slightly open stance and recorded a pair of singles and was hit by a pitch during two games on Friday. He finished the day with 2 RBI and a stolen base. The second baseman showed smooth hands and a quick release in the field as well. 

Carson Hansen, LHP, Pewaukee, 2022
Hansen is a 6-foot, 165-pound left-handed pitcher. Lean, high-waisted frame.  On the mound, works out of a ¾ slot. Loose, easy arm action. Stays balanced throughout delivery. Flashed arm side run on fastball, which sat 71-73 mph, topped at 75. Showed a breaking ball with depth and sweeping movement at 61-63 mph. Went four innings, struck out five in STiKS Badger State Battle opener. At the plate, the clean up hitter showed good discipline and walked twice in three at bats. He stayed through the ball on a low and away offspeed pitch, showing hard contact to the opposite field.

Charlie Jarvis, C/OF, Arrowhead, 2022
The Arrowhead product showed versatility playing both behind the dish and in the outfield throughout the Badger State Battle. From the outfield, flashed carry on a throw home, holding a runner from scoring from third. He attacks the ball well on the ground and uses a small crow hop to generate power on his throws. During the morning session on Friday, he showed patience at the plate walking twice and coming around to score both times. Emiliano Ramos, RHP/SS, Arrowhead, 2022
Ramos took the mound in the 15U semi-finals against Kards and he put the team on his back. His fastball has cutting action and sat 74-77 mph, touching 79 mph twice early on. His off-speed pitches helped miss barrels and keep hitters off balance all game long. He mixed in a curveball with 11/5 shape at 70-72 mph, as well as a changeup with fading action at 71-74 mph. Ramos showed control of all three pitches, finishing with 65% of his pitches thrown for strikes. His final line was 6.2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 10 K, 2 BB in a stellar performance to send his team to the championship. On Friday, reached base a total of five times in the two games, drawing a pair of walks, getting hit by a pitch twice, and a hard hit single to left.

STiKS Academy Red

Michael Kleinhans, INF, West Bend West, 2022
Lean, right-handed hitting shortstop; hit in the two-hole. Lined am RBI double over the left-fielders head in his second at-bat. Also, scored two runs on the day. Made a diving stop to his glove side in the field, sprung to his feet and made a strong throw for a 5-3 putout. 

Grant Nauman, RHP, Oconomowoc, 2022
Undersized, right-handed pitcher. Got the start in the final game on Thursday. Took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Attacked the strike zone behind a low-to-mid 70’s fastball. Mixed in a 64 mph curveball throughout. Arm works clean and compact. Repeated delivery and works on-line with home plate. 

Cristiano Ramirez, SS/RHP, Muskego, 2022
Lean, projectibile build. Right-handed hitting shortstop/RHP for STiKS Red. Primarily hit out of the three-hole for them. Balanced setup, smooth load, short stride, slight leg lift, stays balanced throughout. Level path to the baseball, knack for making contact, simple and compact swing. Defensively, feel for glove, strong arm, athletic in the field. Found himself on the mound Sunday afternoon in a relief role. Athletic delivery, clean and easy arm action, more left in the tank, projectible as he matures. Short and loose arm action, high ¾ slot, works in line with his target. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, sat between 77-78 mph. Breaking ball sat at 70-72 mph, thrown with fastball arm speed.

Tosa Titans

Quinn Cepican, RHP, Wauwatosa West, 2022
Got the start for the Tosa Titans 15U. Threw 4 1/3 innings of 1 hit baseball. Allowing only 1 run. Had control of the game from the first pitch, pounding the zone with all of his pitches. He posses a fastball, curveball, and change up. Fastball sat 70-72 mph topping out at 73 mph. The pitch flashed slight cut and occasional run. Ability to throw pitch for strikes inside and out. Curveball 61 mph with 10/4 shape with an arm speed near his fastball arm speed. Changeup was consistently at 64 mph with an arm speed at his fastball, showing fade on his change up. Drop and drive type, arm angle varying between 3/3 and low 3/4, with level shoulders, in line direction, and a square landing.

Cal Dobbe, LHP, Wauwatosa East, 2021
Strong, muscular build. Left/Left pitcher/first baseman for Tosa Titans. Started against STiKS Red 15U on Sunday afternoon. Tossed a complete game shutout, striking out eight and only allowing four hits. Drop/drive type delivery, lands closed, falls towards 1B side. Short draw, high ¾ slot, throws slightly across his body. Fastball topped at 74 mph, sat between 71-73 mph. Slider played at 65-67 mph, 2/8 shape, showed feel for pitch, consistently thrown for strikes.

Thomas Harper, RHP/1B, Wauwatosa East (WI), 2022
Presents a projectable lanky frame with long loose arm action, high 3/4 arm slot, in line direction, level shoulders, square landing, drop and drive type. Pitching arsenal consists of a fastball, curveball, and a changeup. Fastball sat 79-81 mph, topping out at 82 mph. Fastball shows life playing harder than what the radar gun says, consistently getting late swings on the pitch. 74 mph on his changeup which showed sinking movement, and a curveball at 64 mph with 11/5 shape. Eli Michaelis, OF, Wauwatosa East, 2022
Strong build, defined lower half. Right-handed hitting center fielder. Hit out of the leadoff spot for Tosa Titans. Balanced setup, short stride with a toe-tap. Quick hands, short, uphill path through the zone, sneaky juice in his swing, competitive at-bats. Sprayed four hits across the field, including a triple, in a two-game span on Sunday. 

Parker Thompson, RHP/SS, Wauwatosa East, 2022
Lean, athletic, projectible build. Right-handed hitting shortstop/RHP for Tosa Titans. Primarily worked out of the three-hole. Balanced setup, short stride, leg kick. Level path through the baseball, knack for making contact, did not swing-and-miss at many pitches over a two-game span. Came in relief against Next Level Baseball on Sunday morning. Tall/fall delivery, works in line with target, lands square. Short arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball topped out at 77 mph, sat between 74-76 with straight movement. Curveball worked at 62-64 mph, 11/5 shape. Projectible on the mound as he fills out, more velocity in the tank.
