Throughout the West Virginia high school baseball regular season we will be posting a Power 5 in each classification. Updates will be made for Class AAA on Mondays, AA on Tuesdays and A on Wednesdays. Check back frequently at PBR West Virginia to follow team and individual results from the previous week. Today we continue coverage with a look at our Week Four AAA top 5.

Summary:

Hurricane continues to lead the way in AAA. The Redskins put together a 5-1 week with the only loss coming to out-of-state Greenup County. As is the case with all good teams, contributions were made across the board with individual standout games being recorded by Nathaniel Dunham (4-for-4. 5 RBI), against week three number four George Washington and Austin Dearing (1-for-2, 4 RBI, HR) against Myrtle Beach.

Summary:

St. Albans continues to occupy the number two slot. After an early week 4-2 loss to week three number four George Washington, the Red Dragons bounced back with a purpose. In going 4-0 the remainder of the week, St. Albans outscored it's opponents by a combined 67-9 margin. Standout offensive performances included Connor Fizer (4-for-4, 2 R, 3 RBI) and Noah Cummings (4-for-4, 2 R, 3 RBI) against Shady Spring. On the bump the power arms continued to impress with Ayden Hodges twirling a six inning, ten strikeout No-Hitter and Nick Loftis fashioning a complete game, eight strikeout, shutout against a quality Ripley team.

Summary:

Washington remains our number three after a 4-1 week. As expected, the Patriots continue to use their team speed and athleticism to generate consistent offense. Cameron Pine and Spencer Delawder put up solid weeks highlighted by Pine's (3-for-3, 2 R, 1 RBI) againsnt Ripley and DeLawder's ( 2-for-3, 2 R, 3 RBI) versus Spring Mills.

Summary:

George Washington holds steady at number four. The Patriots fared well against a formidable schedule. The highlight of the week was a huge win against defending AAA State Champion and present Power 5 number two, St. Alban's. In that game Braydem Mcallister and Grant Wells combined to hold the powerful Red Dragon offense to two unearned runs. Preston Taylor did much of the damage at the plate going 2-for-3 and driving in two. The two losses came to class AAA number one Hurricane in a game that was tied going into the seventh and Class AA number two Chapmanville. Impressive weekly lines were turned in by Aidan Johnson ( 9-for-15, 10 R, 6 RBI) and Taylor ( 7-for-13, 3 R, 9 RBI).
