2/24/18 Initiates swing from slightly open with controlled stride to neutral. There is solid balance and rhythm with quick hands working directly to the baseball. Separation is limited by a passive weight shift. Intermittent early front knee lock results in uphill swing path. There is solid barrel feel and obvious athleticism in recording an 86 mph bat exit velocity.

Defensively, works bottom up and out front with soft confident hands. Feet work well to and through the baseball. Arm strength of 84 mph across plays on left side of infield.

On the mound, works out of high 3/4 arm slot with good balance and rhythm while repeating well. Stays on top and behind baseball creating downward plane. Arm is quick with loose action and low effort delivery.  FB sat 85-86 touching 87 mph with consistent late arm side run. CB at 68-69 mph showed 11-5 shape and moderate depth. SL at 74-75 flashed tight spin with short, late 11-4 break. CH sat 72-75 mph and was thrown thrown with good sell and consistent late arm side fade. Loftis was able to command his four pitch mix in an impressive early season outing.
