Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
7/5/18 Defensively, actions are athletic in getting behind and playing through the ball. Shows a soft, confident glove hand in attacking the ball on the ground. Quick twitch abilities are demonstrated by 6.87 60-yard dash time. Fizer would benefit from raising his arm slot on throws from the OF.
Offensively, the 6-foot-2 175-pound, right-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral set up with controlled stride staying neutral. Weight shift is aggressive followed by an abbreviated hip turn. Hands are loose and achieve good barrel whip. Bat path is flat and Fizer consistently squared ball to pull side during his round of BP. A bat exit velocity of 82 mph was recorded.
On the mound, the right-hander works out of a mid 3/4 arm slot showing ability to repeat a moderate effort delivery. Arm action is loose. Stride foot lands excessively closed compromising ability to drive over front side. Fasball was up to 81 mph and true. Curveball at 64-65 showed 11/5 shape and moderate depth while being commanded. Changeup was thrown with good sell and solid run/sink at 71-74.
7/12/17 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral set up with short knee to knee leg kick and aggressive stride/weight shift. There is excellent balance and rhythm to load and swing. Hands work directly to the baseball. Fizer gets bat on plane early and maintains plane throughout zone. He would benefit from a more aggressive hip turn following heel plant. Swing mechanics project to considerable improvement in recorded bat exit velocity of 79 mph with strength gains.
Defensively, catches ball at it's height, gets behind baseball and plays through well on the ground.
On mound FB sat 77 touching 78 from high 3/4 arm slot with some arm side run. CB was thrown at 61-64 mph with 12-6 shape and rolling break. Change up had subtle arm side fade at 68-71 mph. Mechanically, Fizer closed off front foot excessively creating locking of hips, difficulty getting over front side and first base fall. He did consistently repeat delivery.
