Class of 2022 Player Rankings (April)
The Fall/Winter have proved valuable for many 2022 prospects, with many names coming off the board to some of the top programs around the nation. Throughout the year we have traveled across the region to showcases and games.
That being said, we have had the pleasure of seeing a number of solid players this past year. Prospects are popping up left and right, making velocity jumps, improving 60-yard dash times and showing more power with the bat.
Below we will take a look at "What's New At The Top”, “The Risers”, "Guys To Keep An Eye On This Upcoming Summer" and some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

What's Going On At THE Top
Gregory Pace Jr OF / RHP / Detroit Edison Public School Academy, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 1
Report: Pace Jr is a 6-foot, 176 pound two-way potential prospect with big time athleticism. Shows raw ability on the field with a high ceiling. 6.64 runner that plays outfield, takes long strides covering a lot of ground while showing 85 mph arm strength. At the plate posted an 87 mph exit velocity while swinging a wood bat. On the mound was up to 81 with easy arm action along with a sweeping curve and change up. |
Jake Dresselhouse 2B / C / Orchard Lake St Mary's Prep, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 1
Report: 5-foot-11, 170 pound prospect can play any position on the diamond and also gets it done on the gridiron. Explosive athlete with quick twitch. Ball jumps off his barrel, he posted a 90 mph exit velo with a wood bat however he has been up as high as 91 mph this winter. Runs a 6.55 and can get behind the dish and throw a 1.94 down to 2B. |
The Risers
David Lally RHP / SS / Grand Blanc, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 9
Report: Lally is a 6-foot-3, 180 pound two way prospect that moves light on his feet in the field. May project as a third baseman in the field, shows a 90 mph throwing arm across the diamond. Shows a simple approach at the plate producing line drives with lift while posting an 86 mph exit velocity with a wood bat. On the mound is where he stood out most showing easy arm action and velocity. I’d expect continued gains in velocity, what stood out most was his command of all of his pitches. Was up to 86 mph on the bump. |
Jake Coulter RHP / 3B / Brother Rice, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 5
Report: Coulter is a 6-foot-6, 155 pound wiry framed RHP that was easily one of the most impressive arms we saw this winter regardless of class. Clean actions on the mound with big time arm side run and sink on his fastball. Will be a difficult guy for a hitter to square up. Fastball was up to 84 mph with deception. |
Jacob Turner RHP / SS / St. Clair, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 4
Report: Turner is a 5-foot-10, 145 pound slim framed prospect displayed electric stuff on the mound delivering from a high ¾ arm angle. Hides the ball well and shows a fast arm with his fastball sitting 85-87 mph commanding the zone. 12/6 hammer and a deceptive change up. |
Guys to keep an eye on this Upcoming summer
James Pearcy OF / RHP / White lake, Lakeland, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 5
Report: Pearcy is a 6-foot-2, 195 pound physical outfielder that has developed his frame a lot since we first saw him last June. Shows a strong throwing arm posting an 88 mph velo from the outfield. At the plate hammers the ball with raw power posting a 95 mph exit velocity while swinging a wood bat. 7.05 runner. |
Tyler DeGroote RHP / OF / Schoolcraft, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 21 / POS: 8
Report: DeGroote is a 6-foot-6, 195 pound RHP that absolutely shined during our initial winter events. Also plays basketball his athleticism is displayed on the mound. Threw from multiple arm angles up to 86 mph while utilizing minimal leg drive. Has a feel for his breaking ball and late sink on his change up. |
Brandon Skorupski LHP / OF / Orchard Lake St. Marys, MI / 2022Rankings StateRank: 42 / POS: 4
Report: Skorupski is a 5-foot-9, 165 pound two-way prospect that fits the image of a high motor gamer. In the outfield has an aggressive approach working towards the ball taking proper angles displaying a 87 mph throwing arm with carry. Line drive approach at the plate, has an 82 mph exit velocity with a wood bat. On the mound is a crafty pitcher that shows a three pitch mix. |
