College coaches and recruiters have been back on the recruiting trail for summer/fall 2021, allowing them to further evaluate position players in gameplay after 15 months of recruiting at home. Speaking of further evaluation, Prep Baseball Report expanded our analysis by axing exit velocities off the tee, and going all in on Trackman ball flight data to embed in player profiles. Since inception of Trackman data in early 2020, we've been able to provide more insight, highlighting prospects' ceilings and consistencies/inconsistencies of barreled balls. In our data collection, there are eighty-four 2023 prospects and thirty-one 2024 prospects who have topped 90+ exit velocity from BP sessions on Trackman with 12 already committed to play in college. Putting that into perspective, we should see an inflation of prospects eligible for the position player tracker due to more accuracy in the evaluation process in comparison to tee exit velocity. However, the commitment rate for players that are 85+ position velo and 85+ exit velo remains at a 96% over the past three graduating classes, so we will maintain this parameter in the position player tracker process. 

Below, we highlight 53 junior and 15 sophomore prospects, who have attended a PBR showcase and posted 82+ mph for position velo and 85+ mph exit velo. Similar to the '22 Position Player Tracker, these metrics (though slightly modified accounting for age) serve as a benchmark to indicate well rounded skillsets that generally find a place at the next level based on our database history.  They don't necessarily make or break prospects given so much to evaluate and consider when making position player roster decisions, but provide a solid base to expand upon the player's recruiting profile. Of the 68 featured prospects, 13 have committed division one and 55 are uncommitted as they prep for a breakout season. C/1B Caleb Moran (Coffee Co.) leads the 2023 prospects with an exit velo of 102.2 and INF Spencer Yu (Ensworth) leads 2024 prospects with an exit velo of 96.4 from the East Cobb Fall Scout Day. OF Jaron Elkins (Goodpasture) leads the 2023 prospects with a position velo of 95, and OFs Parker Day (Trousdale Co.) and Kennith Lohmann (BGA) lead the 2024s with position velos of 86.
