Quick Hits
Dominic Guccia OF / RHP / Union-Endicott , NY / 2021Guccia continues to show his offensive prowess and has made considerable efforts to drop his 60 time over the last 7 months (from a 7.50 to a 7.23). Corner OF projection with some juice in the bat.
Luke Barone RHP / 1B / Monroe-Woodbury, NY / 2021Barone continues to get the fat part of the barrel on the ball, including an inside-the-park-HR in the scrimmage. He then would hop on the mound and work 77-80 MPH with command and breaking ball for strikes. Strong, physical player.
Jack Beauchamp OF / 3B / McQuaid Jesuit , NY / 2021Beauchamp is a well put together 5-foot-8 175 pounds with a strong lower half; instinctual player who can go get it in the gaps, plays the game more advanced then his measurable stats may indicate.
Brandon Biggane C / RHP / Columbia, NY / 2021Solid all-around player who continues to impress the staff with his catch & throw skills behind the dish and offensive capabilities; should hit for average and continue to develop power over the long term.
Tyler Blake LHP / 1B / Cortland , NY / 2022Probably the biggest eye-opener of the weekend was the long and lean 6-foot-3 170 pound southpaw who was in command working 81-82 for stints of his outing with a two-tier CB/slider at 68-70 MPH. Short term velocity jump with a frame that will hold more.
Christian Brown 3B / 1B / Troy , NY / 2021No stranger to the system, Brown continue to show natural lift to his pull side with some present power. Hands are soft at 3B with an adequate arm that will make the players. Corner infield projection as a middle of the order threat.
Brent Isaacs SS / 3B / Whitney Point , NY / 2021The evidence of off-the-field work is showing up in Isaacs game as both his 60 and exit velocity have improved. Has always shown the hit tool but the other aspects of his game are starting to shine through.
Matthew Jung RHP / 1B / Maple Hill , NY / 2021Jung continued to do what we saw from him over the summer....pitch! Pounds the strike zone, can work FB at 78-80 to both sides of the plate and is effective with his off-speed.
Richard Kershow C / 3B / Northport, NY / 2022Another young prospect on the rise that has shown steady improvements in his catch/release and continues to work hard on improving his footspeed (personal best 7.54 over several past events). The switch hitter continues to mirror his swing on both sides of the plate; understands the game.
Jake Lukasiewicz 1B / Cicero North Syracuse, NY / 2022Physically impressive LHH who is starting to show some signs of next level power already, including a long HR during the game. Handles himself around the bag and will be a beast when he physically matures as he already checks in at 6-foot-4 205 pounds.
Daniel McAliney RHP / OF / McQuaid Jesuit, NY / 2022McAliney was impressive during his outing; threw a ton of strikes working in the 79-82 MPH range with advanced feel for his 67-68 MPH CB. Lean frame that projects extremely well at 6-foot-4 150 pounds.
Ryan McCarroll RHP / 1B / Saratoga Central Catholic, NY / 2021Another projectable build arm at 6-foot-3 145 pounds. McCarroll worked 78-80 with the ability to show 3 pitches with his CB at 66-68 MPH and change up that worked in at 73-74. Tremendous upside.
Frank Mondrone RHP / 1B / Iona Prep, NY / 2021Mondrone's velocity was down a few clicks from when we saw him in early June but his ability to pitch was not effected. Showed an above average breaking ball with late action and a feel for a fading change up. Repeats actions, plus mound composure and has a feel for what he wants to do.
Irving Monegro OF / RHP / St. Raymond's, NY / 2022Intriguing athlete who was down a few notches on the mound but vastly improved his 60 time and OF velocity and exit velocity. Fundamental defender who's throws held carry. Balanced approach with some zone acceleration.
Roberto Reade C / OF / Newburgh Free Academy, NY / 2022One of the more improved players over the weekend who showed an accurate arm during the workouts. Pop times, and exit velo improved from St. John's event with solid in-game instincts.
Jeremiah Vega 2B / RHP / John Jay - East Fishkill, NY / 2022One of the more impressive all-around athlete's on the day. Showed a strong left side arm at 84 MPH across the diamond, swing it with a purpose and was 82 MPH on the mound as well. Left side or OF (6.98 60) projection who can help at the next level in a multiple of ways.
Evan Yandricha C / 3B / Iroquois , NY / 2021Yandricha keeps the tradition of solid backstops out of western NY continuing. Showed a strong arm with carry as pop times hovered in the 2.00-2.10 range. Strong, compact build at 5-foot-10 175 pounds. We will see him again on October 14th in Niagara Falls.
