Caden Hollywood LHP / 1B / Waverly , NY / 2022Lean 6-foot-1 165-pounds with plenty of room to physically develop. Simple mechanics that repeat, clean arm-swing with a high ¾ release. Already shows pitchability, especially the FB/CH combination. FB arm-strength was 72-73 mph with natural fade to his arm-side but plenty of added velocity signs were visible.
Lucas Prokosch RHP / 3B / Newburgh Free Academy, NY / 2020Athletic frame; LHH smoked a single to RF late in the game showing some plus bat speed. Did not see on the mound but could see the arm strength present from 3B during pre-game. Made nice backhanded stop on ball down the line as only opportunity.
Jaden Caballero SS / 2B / Newburgh Free Academy , NY / 2021Lean, athletic build with fast twitch actions; moves well laterally with bounce in his step. Arm arm works from the left side; limited chances in game but looked the part during pre-game. Even setup at the plate; tough day in the leadoff spot but a definite follow.
Jake Danyluk LHP / 1B / Newburgh Free Academy , NY / 2020Long levered frame at 6-foot-4 205 pounds; exhibited above average command with velocity being down a few notches on cold afternoon. Spots the FB well to both sides of the plate; featured 1-to-7 CB with occasional sweep action. Easy delivery that repeats; slight recoil to his finish.
Holden Lazarus OF / Ithaca, NY / 2020A physical player with game changing speed. Plus range in the OF. Looks the part. Aggressive approach at the plate. Didn’t get much to hit. Showed his strength with a stand up triple to RF on a pitch low and away. On the mound, he sat 83-85 from a live arm, mostly arm-side run. Showed a slider at 75-76 that drew three swing-and-miss attempts. Michigan commit.
Noel Foster 3B / RHP / Ithaca , NY / 2019Lean, athletic build for the uncommitted senior. On the mound 3 innings pitched, 5 k’s one walk. Pounds the zone with FB’s glove side. Peaked at 80 MPH and sat 78-79. CB is sharp ranged 64-68 MPH. Used the CB as an out pitch. At the plate, simple mid to opposite field approach. A couple of base hits in the game, aggressive early in the count. Defensively at SS, made all the plays and displayed above average range. Gets rid of the ball quickly.
Pierce Hendershot OF / 3B / Tioga Central, NY / 2019Athletic build. Good plate discipline, doesn't reach for pitches. Short compact swing. Contact hitter at the next level. Good range at 3B, projected corner OF next level. Pitched on 4/2 (6 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 14 k’s); FB topped 83 MPH. Throws CB for a strike; pounds glove side FB’s. St. Bonaventure commit.
Liam Reynolds 3B / RHP / Charles O. Dickerson, NY / 2019A physical frame. Slightly stiff at the plate. Strong kid, does a good job getting the lower half involved. Showed a good approach during a game 4/2. Took his walks and attacked FB’s. On the mound, FB was 78-82 MPH. Settled in after a wild first inning; got stronger as the game went on. Good mound presence pitches with tempo. Inconsistent at times with the CB. (4/3/19) Made an above average play at 3B going quick to his glove side showing fluid lateral movement, clean glove work with a strong accurate throw. Niagara CCC commit.
Xander Burch LHP / 1B / Thomas A. Edison, NY / 2021Athletic lean build, shoulder width stance during his setup, average repeatable pace to his mechanics, belt high knee lift, arm-action is deep with a slight pause before accelerating, easy hand-speed with a fastball sitting 79-82 with plenty more in the tank. I was impressed with his feel for the breaking ball in the strike zone, that pitch sat 67-69.
Patrick Dillon SS / 2B / Fordham Prep, NY / 2019Lean athletic build with some room to fill out. The wind was screaming out to LF and the Trinity commit didn’t waste his opportunity. Dillon started the scoring with a 2 run missile over the left field wall and into the trees. Balanced set up with quiet hands; aggressively attacks the ball in the box.
Chris Difiore LHP / OF / Iona Prep, NY / 2019Got the win for the Gaels in relief. Came in and picked up right where Keenan left off, keeping the Rams off the board. Sat 80-83 MPH with his FB and reached back and got 86 MPH to max out. FB had movement and he commanded to both sides of the plate. Stepped up in a big situation for the Gaels.
Alfredo Delgado 3B / RHP / Fordham Prep, NY / 2019Big horse righty took the tough loss for the Rams. Solid through 5 innings sitting 86-89 with the fastball keeping the game tied into the 6th. Nice loose arm, seemed to lose a little steam in the 6th, getting into some deep counts, and got touched up for 3 more runs. Was still 86-88 MPH in the final frame. Big upside for the Manhattan commit. Additional usage of the slider (74-77) especially after the first time through the lineup will help him dominate.
Michael Hangan C / OF / Iona Prep, NY / 2019Sturdy backstop really worked well with his pitchers. Good blocker and frames extremely well; consistently stole strikes off the edge of the plate. The uncommitted senior also picked a runner off 1B while the game was still tied. Big momentum swing for the Gaels. Had his pop time at 2.01 in warmups. Though he struggled at the dish his catch & throw abilities provided plenty of worth.
Kyle Andrews OF / 3B / Croton Harmon , NY / 2020Solid 5’10 frame with room to grow; moves well at 3B, making all the plays. Starts wide with a small toe tap to start his swing; short to the ball getting excellent extension through the zone to a high two hand finish. Ball jumps off his bat as he drove the ball to deep RCF to line out, and then in the top of the 6th with a man on and down 3-2 went yard to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead which proved to be the game winner.
Max Luke 1B / RHP / Croton Harmon, NY / 2020Big bodied with room to fill out. The 6’3 - 210 lb uncommitted righty was clocked up to 86 last year with his FB, and looked all of that and then some as he closed out the final two frames to lock down the win for the Tigers. 2 IP with 6 Ks on 24 pitches. Commanded exceptionally well with both his FB and his CB. Dominant finish to an exciting game. Followed that up in the next two games with 4IP 0H 0ER 7Ks and 3-4 with a 2B at the dish vs Dobb’s Ferry, then vs Pawling 3-4 with 1B 2B HR SacFly 3RBIs.
Christopher Mattoon RHP / 3B / Elmira , NY / 2020Durable frame, thick shoulders, simple repeatable mechanics, short arm-swing on the back side, releases the ball from a high ¾ slot, FB sat 78-80 with above average command. Curveball sat 65-67 with 11/5 shape.
Zachary Judson SS / 2B / Elmira , NY / 2019Plays with a high motor, active and scrappy both in the box and defensively. Made a diving play to his right side and make the throw accurate to 2nd from his knees. Bats from the left-side with a loose approach, shows patience in the box working counts, fun player to watch play the game.
Max Odum 2B / SS / Elmira, NY / 2020Loose hands in the box from a shoulder width base, lower half stays quiet on the pitch, hands are direct to the ball with fluid bat-speed. Hard hit ball up the middle for a single in the 1st inning. Active hard-nosed player in the 2020 class.
Adam Rutkowski SS / RHP / Maine Endwell , NY / 20195-foot-11, 170-pounds using average tempo to his delivery. Releases from a high ¾ slot with a fastball sitting 77-78 (peaked 79).
Michael Mancini RHP / SS / Maine-Endwell, NY / 2022Left-handed hitter, slightly crouched stance, hands are short and direct to the ball, hard hit ball down the left-field line, athletic player that oozes projection. Fun player to keep an eye on in the 2022 class.
Jakob Millich 3B / 1B / Carthage, NY / 2019At the collegiate level, Millich is expected to move to a corner INF position. But showed his defensive skills at SS. Plays with a high IQ and is aware of the situation with runners on the bases. Keeps everything in front of him and has a quick arm release across the diamond. At the plate, he shows above average power to LC and RC gaps. With an inside out swing, Millich has quick hands through the zone. Clarkson commit.
Orlando Martinez OF / LHP / Carthage , NY / 2020Martinez really stood out in his first game with Carthage HS; high energy player. From the left side of the plate, he gets his arms extended through the zone and can go opposite field. He showed off a very explosive first step out of the box and busts down the line through the first base bag.
Michael Kennedy LHP / 1B / Troy , NY / 20226-foot-0, Athletic build with a strong lower half, Kennedy showed poise on the mound despite not having his best stuff. FB sat 81-82 MPH with CB 67-68 MPH. He pitched out of trouble in two of his three innings and finished with 3 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 2 SO.
Sonny D'Antonio 2B / OF / CBA-Albany, NY / 20205-foot-10, Second Baseman who helped to spark the CBA offense by getting on base in 3 plate appearances from the leadoff position in the 4-0 victory over Troy HS. Flashed solid defensive skills and the ability to handle the bat.
Richie Lewis LHP / 1B / Elmira , NY / 2020Bats from the right-side using a relaxed approach from his lean, lanky frame. Wide base with a quiet lower half on the pitch, barrel gets flat early with fluid bat-speed through the contact zone, hit an RBI single up the middle during the 3rd inning.
Michael Hicks RHP / OF / CBA-Albany, NY / 20195-foot-10, RHP with a slender build. Showed a very repeatable motion and mixed a FB ranging 72-73 MPH (was up to 78 MPH last summer) with a CB 64 MPH to keep the hitters off balanced. Strike thrower who finished 6 IP with 69 total pitches, 0 Runs allowed |
Alex Chang RHP / OF / Paul D. Schreiber , NY / 2019Crafty RHP with a slight but strong frame, 6-foot-1 175 pounds. Uses his body as well as he can without much weight behind the ball. Has command of a 4 pitch mix; most comfortable with his 80 MPH FB, but has a 11-5 CB that he will go to. Missed up with the CB times. His deception and FB control leads to a lot of awkward swings. Loaded up stance at the plate.
Sean Meth 3B / Paul D. Schrieber, NY / 20205-foot-11 175 pound junior with a very athletic build for his age; room for physical gains present. Balanced stance at the plate, with good hip rotation The power is already there; explosive!!! easy opposite field power. Choppy feet, but solid hands in the field.
Matthew Canizares OF / RHP / Monsignor McClancy , NY / 2021Athletic frame, lean and long. Above average speed, very quick hands/bat. Able to turn on the inside fastball well. Above average reads in center. Great timing and reads while stealing bases.
Santo Anzalone C / Monsignor McClancy , NY / 2021Quick pop/release, good footwork behind the plate. Big and strong advanced frame. Has to work on framing the low fastballs. Outstanding hip rotation through swing. Pulls off/over anxious at the plate sometimes, but when he starts going away more, he’s gonna be a force.
Michael Limoncelli RHP / SS / Horseheads, NY / 2019A wiry athletic frame. The RHP sat 86-88 (topped 89) for the game. Struggled with command in the 1st early but settled down after. CB 72-75 was a plus pitch. Threw it for a strike and as an out pitch. Velocity was down from past performances but the velocity should continue to go up the as the season goes on.
Henry Juan C / 3B / Horseheads, NY / 2020A physical kid. Defensively, good pace, no real threats on the run game from the opposing team. Solid job catching the top prospect. At the plate, displayed a patient approach. Only real spark Horseheads had on the day. The right handed hitting catcher always has a chance to get into one.
Aidan Chamberlin SS / RHP / Corning , NY / 2022Athletic looking player. At the plate, squared up two balls. Patient hitter. Didn’t reach out of the zone. Glides on the base paths. On the mound, FB sat 80-82, topped 84. Struggled with command early. CB 66-70 MPH, was sharp, his best pitch during the day.
2020 2B Fausto Leonardo (Grand St. Campus)
Compact, smaller frame for the RHH MIF; bounce in his step, goes to his left well and showed soft hands. 2-for-3 on the day with a short stroke single in his first AB and a well hit double to left-center. Short, explosive steps on the base paths.
2022 1B/LHP Myles Vasquez (Grand St. Campus)
Proportional build for the freshman in the 6-foot-0 range. Right-handed hitting 1B who also pitched 2 innings at the end of the game. Handles himself well around the bag, accurate arm and demonstrated advanced footwork. Aggressive swings in the box with some hard hit outs. Has feel on the rubber and as the temps and velocity increase he’ll be a player to follow over the long term.
2020 Montana Davis (Waverly HS)
Big day for the junior going 3-5 with 4 RBI’s. Stocky build, loose hands in the box, small stride on the pitch for contact. Showed the ability to control the barrel through contact using all fields on the day. Line-drive approach, base-to-base style of player.
2019 Jalen McCarty (Waverly HS)
Solid performance on the day going 3-4 with an RBI. High energy player, used all fields from a short, compact barrel path to the ball. Relaxed approach, athletic defender.
2019 Bradey Roney (Waverly HS)
Passes the eye test standing 6-foot-2, 185-pounds with long athletic limbs. Went 1-3 on the day with 2 RBI’s. Had the best pregame BP showing some strength to the gaps and easy bat-speed. Showed light footwork around the 1B bag with a strong arm for the position.
2019 Dylan Bell (Dryden HS)
During his 1st AB he drove a well hit double down the left-field line. Athletic looking player with loose fluid hands in the box, quiet lower half, repeatable barrel path to the ball.
Bright spot for Dryden HS tonight, 2019 Dylan Bell w/ a standup double.. Relaxed in the box, quiet lower half, simple repeatable barrel path.. athletic looking player.. #BeSeen https://t.co/Ypc3QTYziJ pic.twitter.com/aVbDWpf3Ga

2019 SS Ryan Johanson (Minisink Valley)
Average, athletic build. Open, off the plate setup with a simple flat path swing. Two well hit doubles to right center field. 4.50 home-to-1B on soft track on a 6-3 groundout.
2020 2B TJ Palma (Iona Prep)
Athletic 5-foot-10 - 160 pound player with speed for days. Lefty stick in the 2 hole, TJ spreads out at the plate with a short direct attack to the ball which jumps off his bat. Led Gaels’ win in rematch vs Fordham Prep with a single that he turned into the first Iona run with a steal of third and scored on the overthrow. Really puts the pressure on the defense. Turned around an 88 MPH Delgado heater and sent it off the wall in right center field for a triple, driving in the go ahead run. On the day 2-3 w 3B, RBI & 2 Runs. On defense; excellent arm that will play anywhere on the field.
@GaelsBaseball 2B 2020 uncommitted TJ Palma drove a bomb off the wall for a triple and then Derek Robertson followed with a double of his own off the wall to seal the deal for Iona. 5-3 winner over @FP_Baseball Patrick Dillon with a 2 Run Scud Missile for the Rams @PBRNewYork pic.twitter.com/ggpyg7OLiM

2019 LHP Jack Keenan (Iona Prep / Marist Commit)
Lean frame that has some room to grow; with some mass should gain additional velocity. Sat 83-85 MPH and maxed 86 MPH with his FB; ran a 2 seamer on either edge at 81-82 with sink. Most impressive was the consistency he had with his curveball which ranged 71-73 MPH the entire outing; went back foot wipeout on the righties. Was go to out pitch that contributed to 8 K’s on the day. He feathered in a few change ups that had arm-side run, small FB CH velo differential. If that change gains a bit more separation, he’ll have the complete arsenal.
2019 OF/LHP Chris DiFiore (Iona Prep)
Got the win for the Gaels in relief. Came in and picked up right where Keenan left off, keeping the Rams off the board. Sat 80-83 MPH with his FB and reached back and got 86 MPH to max out. FB had movement and he commanded to both sides of the plate. Stepped up in a big situation for the Gaels.
2019 LHP Rian Balbino (North Salem)
The uncommitted lefty ace for the Tigers worked his way through 5 innings with minimal damage. Commanded the zone nicely, keeping the hitters on edge, working in and out and getting weak contact for the most part. Pitched his way out of a couple of jams, and left with a 3-1 lead. He has been up to 80 MPH with his FB and his stuff could play at the next level with a bit more mass. He’s not afraid to challenge a lineup.
2020 3B Nate Doremus (Carthage HS)
Doremus is a newcomer to HS baseball in NY, but he showed plenty of reasons why he will be a name in North Country baseball this spring. Doremus has a very smooth approach at the corner, he reads the ball off the bat well. He showed the ability to charge slow rollers; able to make the play on the move. At the plate, he demonstrated his skills and kept his weight back to drive off speed pitches. He got his arms extended and pulled a couple balls down the LF line.
2019 C Jack Trenaman (Port Washington)
Athletic build in a 6-foot-1 180 pound frame. Has room to grow; projectable. Quick feet with above average framing abilities. Quick and smooth transfer with plus arm strength. Very vocal on the field, great field general. Cerebral player. Slight crouch at the plate, with a great approach. Works the count well as a hitter, where his zone recognition and discipline come into play. Quick hands, opposite field power.
Short arm action, fluid and loose, good rhythm. Sharp CB, good job working up and down with his FB. Natural 2 seam action, low 80s. Keeps arm action the same on his changeup. Good difference in speed that stays on same plane. Very projectable.
2020 SS Joe Cocozza (Monsignor Farrell)
Athletic frame. Able to hit to all fields with above average power. Would like to see more aggressiveness on the base paths; 2-run single vs. McClancy. Quick feet and a strong arm at SS.
2019 LHP Vincent Barone (Monsignor Farrell)
Holds runners well, has 3 different pickoff moves. Good separation/timing with no runners on. Mechanics can get off rhythm when guys are on base. Low 80s FB, good at changing eye levels. Average curve with a 11-5 break.
2020 Justin Klayman (Monsignor Farrell)
LHH with a strong, compact, short swing. Stocky build, with pull side pop. Average speed, glove is serviceable but the bat is what plays. Good plate vision/discipline.
2021 RHP Chris Mattioli (Monsignor Farrell)
First varsity appearance. Low 80s FB. Above average curve; can show it a bit early. Fluid mechanics, good hip transfer. Highly projectable; bright future.
