Team Citius Workout
Dillon stands in at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet at shoulder width apart. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding his hands just above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch his trigger is a simple step forward while he brings his hands slightly back into his hitting position. Uses good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in the swing. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with good upward lift barrel action throughout the zone into a high two handed finish. Demonstrated gap to gap potential during batting practice round. Tendency to jump out at the ball and will improve keeping upper torso back away from the strike zone during the process of the swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH. Defensively- Good athletic footwork getting to the baseball. Smooth fielding mechanics with a good funnel into the chest and quick transition to the throwing hand. Shows good hand eye coordination and good footwork fielding the ball to the right/left and in on the run. A smooth fielding collegiate prospect. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 74 MPH.
