His swift hand-to-glove transition translated to live action, where Verhage displayed those same traits, challenging opposing runners on the basepaths. On the offensive end, Verhage’s bat continues to show improvements, adding another strong dimension to his game. The left-handed batter finished with two hits on the weekend, overcoming a slow start with an up-the-middle approach, catching multiple barrels.
