Hustead looks to be back healthy and ready to throw more big innings for Hanover, just like he did as a freshman in 2019. Level hips and shoulders moving down the mound, lands on line, and a quick whippy three-quarter arm. The fastball was 85-88 mph while the breaking ball sat 74-76 mph with a 11/6 slurve shape. There is a lot of effort in the delivery and a reliever profile, but with the way that he attacks hitters, his makeup matches his approach on the mound.

Hustead is 5-11 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, showed a good approach with some extra-base power present and the chance to add more, exit velocity was 88. In the outfield, gets behind the ball and fields through it with soft hands, clean exchange, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 81. Ran a 7.01 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, very short loose quick arm action and some effort to his drop and drive delivery. Shoulders are uphill and slightly closed, lands open with an athletic finish. Fastball was 86-87, touching 88, with some downward plane and late hard armside run. Curveball was 72-74 and had sharp hard 11/5 break and good armspeed, flashed swing and miss when down. Change-up was 79-80 with good armspeed and late hard fade to it.

Hustead came on in the seventh for Anderson and ended up throwing two and one-third. He came in and you could tell the adrenaline was pumping. Fastball was up as he was juicing it up a little with the Hawks needing the final out. He sat 84-86 in the seventh and could not establish the breaking ball, as he was running away from the arm a little bit. Loose free arm and throws with intent. In the eighth and ninth the velocity dropped some to 81-83, but did manage to establish the breaking ball in those last two innings. Curveball sat between 68-71 mph on the night.

Hustead has an athletic frame with some projection. Solid pace to the delivery getting to the balance point over the rubber. Is under control throughout and pitches with intent. Shoulders are level as he moves towards home and lands on line with head falling off slightly towards first. Quick arm throwing from high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 84-85 and touched 86 once in one inning of work. Curveball had 11/5 shape and threw it with present armspeed with a hard late break at 71-73 mph. Showed feel for the fastball and curveball and attacked hitters throughout the count. A must follow arm over the next four years as he continues to grow into his frame.
