06.26.18 Texas Christian commit. Very physical and athletic 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame with tons of strength. Crushed 97 mph exit velocity off the tee, and had easy power in batting practice. The left-hander has an advanced approach with barrel awareness at the plate, as he showed his power to all parts of the field during BP. He works from an athletic stance, takes a simple fluid load back with his body, has loose relaxed hands, is in the zone a long time with his barrel, has excellent balance, and has fluid rhythm throughout his swing with a high finish. In the outfield he moved with fluidity, worked through the ball with his body, and delivered accurate throws to the dish with a live loose arm action and a quick release. Plante also showed his unique athleticism by running a sub-7.00 60-yard dash (6.98 laser-timed). Plante will be exciting to watch at the next level, as he projects to be a strong middle of the order presence for the Horned Frogs at some point.
10.28.17 TCU recruit. Plante passes the eye test with his strong, broad shouldered, high-waisted, 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame. The junior is a solid athlete with all-around feel for both the outfield and first base. A left-handed hitter, Plante showed off his strength during batting practice by driving balls deep into centerfield with thump and carry (90 mph). Ball jumps off his bat, easy bat speed, simple swing with strength, projectable hitter at the next level with more power likely to come. Plante plays through the ball with smooth rhythm and timing, quick exchange and easy gather. Arm works well from a short, high-¾ arm stroke, accurate throws with carry in the outfield at 89 mph. Good footwork around the bag at first base during the game. With his size, athleticism and strong left-handed bat, Plante is a great addition to TCU's future lineup.
