HUNTSVILLE, TX - On Tuesday, June 26, some of the top talent in the 2019 class from South Texas will converge on the campus of Sam Houston State University. The Top Prospect Showcase is a staple in Prep Baseball Report's summer events and are highly attended by schools from all over the country. These events are so heavily attended for one reason: the players. Year in and year out, the best talent in that respective state is represented at their state specific Top Prospect Showcase.

This is an invite only event and is exclusive to the top 2019 prospects from Texas. The showcase will be featured on the Prep Baseball Report website, which is subscribed to by more than 800 colleges. Event information including statistics and scouting reports will also be posted on the Prep Baseball Report’s website, at www.PrepBaseballReport.com. Top players will be identified and ranked. Players’ edited videos will also be hosted in the players’ profile along with scouting reports and statistics.

Here are just a few of the top ranked players that will be in attendance.

+ OF Austin Plante (Lake Travis HS). The TCU commit is a physical specimen and a strong left-handed hitter that burst onto the scene last fall at the PBR Waco Open.

+ C Bo Willis (Magnolia HS) has a great combination of a power bat and a strong arm behind the dish. The Texas Tech commit spent the spring hitting in the middle of the Magnolia HS lineup.

+ SS Austin Roccaforte (Tomball Memorial HS) is a fast-twitch infielder and Wichita State commit.

+ C/OF Caleb Munton (Wylie HS) is one of the top hitters in the ‘19 class. The Texas State commit is a switch hitter with power from both sides.

+ OF J.T. Mounce (Cypress Christian HS) briefly set the PBR Future Games 60-yard dash record last summer. The Oklahoma State commit ran a 6.49.

+ OF/RHP Quinton Martin (Sweeny HS) helped lead the Sweeny Bulldogs all the way to the State Finals. The Rice commit has premium arm strength from the outfield and power at the plate.

For college recruiters that are still looking to fill their 2019 recruiting class, there will be a little bit of everything for them to see. Here is a quick look at just a few of the uncommitted players that will be in attendance.

Pitchers

+ SS/RHP Michael Gresham (Boerne-Champion HS) was one of the top prospects at last summer’s South Texas Underclass Games. The right-hander has premium arm strength at shortstop (91 mph) and it translates to the mound we he can run his fastball up to 90 mph, and can spin a sharp slider at 75-76. Gresham is the top, uncommitted 2-way prospect in the ‘19 class.

+ RHP Ryan Bogusz (Lonestar HS) is a sinker/slider guy that fills up the zone. With his projectable frame and feel for spin, there is still a lot of upside with a likely velocity jump to come in the near future.

Catchers

+ C Mason Tomchesson (Klein Collins HS) helped Klein Collins to a deep playoff run this spring. A gritty, hard-nosed backstop, he stood out several times this spring in front of our scouting staff.

+ C/1B Luke Ely (Franklin HS) has a smooth left-handed stroke and posts pop times of 1.93-2.01.

+ C Joey Crisci (Allen HS) has soft hands behind the plate to go with a clean arm stroke on throws to second base.

+ C/3B Carlos Abello (Kinkaid HS) is another left-handed hitter with lots of upside and an exit velocity of 91 mph.

Infielders

+ SS Michael Cervantes (Clear Springs HS) is an elite defender that can play all three infield positions, and has power at the plate.

+ SS Reed Chumley (Langham Creek HS) made waves this spring with his stellar play for Langham Creek.

+ SS Kade Sanchez (Caldwell HS) has fast-twitch actions at shortstop and feel for the game in the middle of the field. High motor, gritty, "gamer" type player.

+ SS River Orsak (Barbers Hill HS) ran a 6.77 the last time we saw him play, and posted an exit velocity of 91 mph.

Outfielders

+ OF Benjamin Holbert (College Station HS) hit really well in front of our staff this spring. He has loose-quick hands at the plate, and a projectable frame that suggest his best baseball is ahead of him.

+ OF Tommy Ivey (Kingwood Park HS) is a competitive right-handed hitter with an aggressive approach. Ivey is continually on time, and on the barrel every time we see him play.
