Even though the Oklahoma State commit spent most of the fall on the football field, he still managed to blaze a 6.61 60-yard dash on Saturday morning of the All-State Games. The twitchy, 5-foot-10, 155-pounder is still filling out physically, but shows the athleticism and ball skills to be a true center-fielder at the next level. His 86 mph arm from the outfield features some carry while being athletic, and will more than play as he moves forward. Hitting from the left side, Mounce sets up with a wide base and his hands held below his back shoulder. Utilizing a small stride, his hands with a quick hand coil before whipping through the zone on an uphill path with a very loose finish. He sprayed line drives all over the field while flashing some potential for pull side power in the future. However, I was most impressed by the way that he used his speed as he stayed within himself at the plate, and constantly put the pressure on the defense to make plays. Mounce has all the tools to be a mainstay in the top of the lineup for the Cowboys, while creating headaches for pitchers and catchers.

Mounce is a fast-twitch left-handed hitting outfielder that stands 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. His batting practice was consistent all week as he showed the ability to use the whole field, making hard contact from the middle-to-opposite field gap. He has a balanced setup with a smooth, simple, direct hand path with a loose finish. He started the week by breaking the "event record" 60-yard dash with a 6.49. He has game changing speed on the bases, putting pressure on the defense on multiple occasions including running a 3.91 on a drag bunt, stealing bases and moving up on dirt balls. He took a solid swing against a 90+ mph fastball and was on time, but just missed the barrel, hitting a fly ball to right field with a 5.83-second hang time. On Saturday he showcased strong defensive tools. He cut off a would-be double down the left field line and hosed the runner at second base with a strong throw on top of the bag. Two batters later he opened up and ran down another would-be double to the left field warning track. With his spped, athleticism, and left-handed bat, Mounce is a player that is garnering a lot of attention from college recruiters.

5-foot-10, 145-pound, wiry-strong, athletic frame. After experiencing travel delays the day before, and working on very little sleep, Mounce was impressive all around, and started the day with a 60-yard dash time of 6.85. The sophomore threw 86 mph from the outfield with good carry, accuracy and clean arm action. The left-handed hitter starts from a tall, neutral stance with good rhythm, relaxed hands and a slight bat wrap. Gets started with a short stride, lands balanced with his weight slightly forward, then uses a short path to create good bat speed with barrel awareness. Mounce showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields with decent power to the pull side. Registered an exit velocity of 80 mph.
