Estimated 6-foot-2, 205-pound athletic frame. The right-handed hitter starts his load with a slight leg lift and has a long swing while the bat stays through the zone well through contact. Flashed a strong arm and quick reactions behind the plate to catch a runner drifting too far off 2nd base for a pickoff.

Texas Tech commit. Very physical 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame with plenty of strength throughout.  Wilis only ran a 60-yard dash and hit BP at the event, but that was plenty for us to see how talented this Texas Tech recruit is.  Willis wasted no time, and hit the first ball he saw in batting practice over the left field wall, and did it once more later on in the round; pounded 90 mph exit velo off the tee. The right-handed hitter has pure strength in the box, has a slightly open stance with some bend in his knees, has smooth load back with a low hanging stride with excellent balance, has his hands up high, and has plus intent with a high finish to create natural lift.  Willis has explosive bat speed, and should enjoy hitting with those famous Lubbock winds at his back. Willis ran a 7.36 laser-timed 60.

After spending his fall on the gridiron, Willis is back in the full swing of baseball season. Standing 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, the Texas Tech recruit has a strong frame with a well defined lower half, broad shoulders and strong forearms. Willis has a strong arm from the crouch at 80 mph and threw strikes down to second base with pop time ranging from 1.97-2.12. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has a short path with real strength at contact and a loose finish of the barrel with an exit velocity of 91 mph off the tee. On the infield, Willis has soft hands and an accurate arm at 83 mph across the diamond.

06.26.17 - Texas Tech recruit. Strong, advanced frame. The right-handed hitter put on a display in batting practice, showcasing pull power with towering fly balls on the barrel to the pull side, including a couple of home runs. Willis has solid arm strength behind the plate, posting pop times of 1.93-2.15 and 2.0 from his knees.

04.21.17 - Texas Tech recruit. 6-foot-1, 185-pound, strong frame. Since Willis was an All-State linebacker in football, this was our first chance to see him play this year. Defensively, Willis moved well behind the plate, and showed solid receiving skills while catching a high-end arm. The sophomore has premium arm strength with plenty of carry to second base. He posted pop times ranging from 2.08-2.15-seconds. The right-handed hitter made hard contact in both of his at-bats, lining out to center field and launching a towering bomb to left-center field. Willis is currently ranked No. 44 in Texas and No. 284 Overall.
