Uncommitted and number one available 2020 TN prospect. Same face, new place as Sibert transferred in during the offseason and looks to be a huge addition to this veteran Rossview club. Played a nice hot corner, flashing the leather on a diving backhand to turn a huge double play. Didn’t pick up a knock, but barreled two balls to the OF gaps plus worked a walk. On plane early and often with balanced approach while looking to do damage. Polished hot corner prospect, who will be a great late addition this Spring.

IF stood out with his consistent barrel feel, collecting two hits. 6-0, 200-pounder features a medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, upright stance w/ hand rhythm into leg kick and short hand load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone. Consistent, repeatable swing w/ knack for barrel. Balanced w/ still head, shows ability to really hit to all fields. All fields approach w/ lot of line drives. Big power ceiling, did not get to it consistently out in Indy. Slight timing issue made it difficult for him to get out and drive the baseball, was better as the event went along. Has a knack for collecting timely hits, plays better in big situations. Defensively, moves well on the IF, projects best at 3B or 2B, will depend on how the arm comes back into next spring, as he pitched 84-86 this spring.
6/12/18 - Max FB: 82, FB: 77-80, Avg FB: 79.41, CB: 64-66, SL: 69-71 CH: 66-67 6-foot-0, 200-pound, RHP saw his velocity down from when we saw him pitch a masterful complete game at Vanderbilt, where he touched 86 twice and had an average FB velocity of 83. Medium, sturdy, well-proportioned frame w/ present strength throughout, some physical projection. Pitched from a full wind-up into the middle to third base side of the rubber w/ ¾ to H ¾ release point. Loose, quick arm. Shows ability to repeat delivery, keep arm consistently on time. From the H ¾ release, shows some downhill angle. FB shows occasional arm-side run, occasional sink. May have been the same grip but showed two different breaking balls depending on the release point. Showed a short downer CB w/ average depth from the H ¾ release, while showing a ¾ tilt SL w/ late bite from the ¾ release. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink at times. Around the zone w/ his 4-pitch mix. Generated 1 swing and miss on 11 swings.
6/12/18 - Home-1st: 4.69, Position Velocity: IF-71, Exit Velocity: 83 6-foot-0, 200-pound, RHH had a huge in game performance, collecting 3 doubles in 4 bats w/ zero swing and miss on 7 swings. Medium, sturdy, well-proportioned frame w/ present strength throughout, some physical projection. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, upright stance w/ hand rhythm into crouch, shift of weight, knee to knee stride and no load. Generates above average bat speed through the zone, better than the exit velocity indicates. Occasional whippiness through the zone. Short path to the baseball. Lot of line drives in BP w/ pull power that translated in game. Short, repeatable swing projects to hit for average and power. Projectable average runner. Defensively, shows solid hands w/ occasional ability to play through the baseball and keep his legs under him. Some flash and some athleticism defensively. Arm played below average on this day, but saw him pitch 83-85 earlier this spring, suggesting arm strength is significantly better than what we saw on this day. May profile best at 3B, will determine how frame matures, how arm plays moving forward.
