The southpaw finds himself as the number one available arm in the 2020 class. Fills up the zone with his 85-88 mph fastball. Low-effort delivery and easy out of the hand, the fastball seemed to sneak up on hitters. He also shuffled in a highly effective power slurve that flashed depth and tight spin (up to 2500 spin, per Trackman), occasionally back-footing right-handed hitters. Shown promise as a LHH outfielder as well, making him a viable two-way prospect. |

Fastball sat 83-85, touched 86 early in his outing. Manipulated his breaking ball between 12/6 and 2/8, 71-73. 6-foot-4, 225-pound lefty w/ tall, sturdy frame. Full rock and fire delivery w/ quick arm from 3/4 slot. Fastball sat 83-85, up to 86 this summer circuit at Lakepoint. FB has some arm side action, tends to lose some velo (80-82) with more action. Shown ability to command 3-pitch mix w/ burrowing curveball (70-72) and sinking changeup (72-73). Excellent student and 2020 southpaw arm. |
Ross Pendergrass RHP / OF / Rhea County, TN / 2020Rankings StateRank: 90 / POS: 22
