Downhill plane w/ some angle. FB shows short arm-side run. Tight medium downer CB w/ proper shape and rotation. Developing consistency. Around the zone w/ his 2-pitch mix, projects to command as he develops within his frame. Generated 2 swing and misses on 8 swings.

All fields approach w/ lot of line drives. Flashes above average bat speed through the zone. Learning to control his big frame, flashes ability to keep upper and lower half in sync. Projectable pull power as frame matures. Projectable below average runner. Defensively, presents quality low target w/ big glove and no glove rest. Maintains strong target w/ soft hands, ability to stick the baseball. Moves well behind the plate w/ the ability to stick the baseball. As a thrower, shows solid arm strength w/ ok footwork and release. Learning to control his lower half and be efficient behind the plate with his release. Profiles best as a catcher.
1/15/18 - 60 Time: 7.71, Pop Time: 2.06-2.12, Position Velocity: C-74, Exit Velocity: 83 6-foot-4, 200-pound, RHH showed improved metrics across the board since we last saw him this summer. XL tall w/ projectable frame, present strength in lower half. Oozes projection w/ lot of physical growth coming. Offensively, hits from a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Some bat waggle. Short stride where gains a little ground and proper load. Hips leak slightly, causing roll-over ground balls. Flashes extension through the baseball, still learning body control. Has all the tools to hit, just needs reps and growth. As a receiver, sets a solid target, can set it lower to help frame the low pitches and set it earlier to give his pitchers a visual cue. Moves well behind the plate w/ feel for boxing the baseball. Gets a little stabby at times, but will improve with more reps. As a thrower, shows arm strength with carry to the bag with good feet. Does a good job of getting himself on line in his throws. A tall catcher w/ with a lot of growth coming.

Defensively, stood up a little early on pop times, showed good hands, footwork never got his front side loaded and closed off, arm strength will improve with some maturity.

Uses a long rocker step while staying under control and can sometimes get a little mechanical. Short arm action comes through a high ¾ slot and stays simple. Fastball showed very slight run and curveball showed 12/6 to 11/5 shape through the zone.
