Florida ProCase Preview: C Dylan King
May 22, 2020
The PBR ProCase has been a staple of the Prep Baseball Report's pro coverage over the last 17 years. The event has become one of the more high-powered pro showcases in the state and has seen multiple high draft picks in year’s past. There have been four players drafted in the top five rounds of the MLB Draft to have attended the Florida ProCase in previous years. The biggest of them all was Mason Denaburg, who was taken in the 1st round of the 2018 draft by the Washington Nationals. Another ProCase alum was Freddy Tarnok. He was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 3rd round of the 2017 draft. Sam McMillan attended the first Florida ProCase in 2016. He was selected in the 5th round of the 2017 draft by the Detroit Tigers. And just last year, Tyler Callihan was selected in the 3rd round of the 2019 draft by the Cincinnati Reds.
The 2020 Florida ProCase will take place Friday, May 29th at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona, Florida. The event will feature a pro-style workout followed by simulated gameplay that we will be broadcasting live on Twitter. Starting today, we will be spotlighting each of the players that will be in attendance at the 2020 Florida ProCase.
If you still wish to attend the 2020 Florida ProCase you can request your invite and register HERE.
Next up is 2021 C Dylan King (American Heritage Delray). King is an athletic catcher at 6-foot-2, 193 pounds. He was a key member to American Heritage Delray's 11-0 start to the season. The North Carolina commit was a standout back at our 2018 Underclass Games. King ranks No. 38 in the PBR Florida Class of 2021 rankings.

Scouting Report
1/2/19 - Committed to North Carolina
06/23/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 6-foot, 170 pounds with a strong, athletic frame. He frame looks taller and will continue to fill it out. Listed as middle infield, but really projects well behind the plate. Defensively, he has a good setup and feel to catch. Throws were accurate and has the tools to become an above average defender. Offensively, the left handed hitter has a simple and repeatable swing. Could benefit from some added separation in the load, but the hands works direct to the ball and have looseness, working consistently out in front. The hit tool played with two hits in the game which included a hard line drive single into right field. Overall, athletic and very high ceiling.
09/30/17- At 5-foot-10, 145 pounds the catcher has plenty of room to grow and fill out. Ran a 7.53 60 yard dash. Defensively shows some athleticism. The feet and hands work well. Shows a strong arm for his class, topping out at 70 mph and pop times in the 2.2-2.25 range. Offensively, he is very simple. There is no load which can create some steepness at times. When level through the zone, he drove balls from gap to gap. There is a lot of athleticism and a lot to like going forward.
