As the staff at PBR-PA is ready to embark on 2022, let's take a look at players that are ready to make that next jump during this year's Preseason All-State Tour.

Cole Kochanowicz RHP / SS / La Salle, PA / 2024

Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 7

What to expect: Precision on the bump with increased mound-feel and ability to land all three offerings for strikes (FB, CB, CH). The curveball is the out-pitch with advanced spin traits (2500+rpms) and 12/6 depth.
What we'd like to see: Extra strength gains (6-foot-1, 155lbs) could yield additional velocity (81-82 mph last look). An integral bullpen piece for LaSalle in last year’s state championship run (8 saves), a 2022 encore is in store for the athletic righty.

Nolan Book SS / 2B / Manheim Central, PA / 2024

Rankings StateRank: 48 / POS: 7

What to expect: The physical two-sport athlete has gained significant size and strength since his last appearance when he checked in at 6-0, 175lbs. With feel on both sides of the ball and some positional versatility, Book could eventually fit the mold of a power-hitting 3B and will stick on the left side of the infield.
What we'd like to see: Continued offensive output will determine just how far he ascends up the rankings. With the already known size and defensive prowess, this has the feel of a potential riser who’s a step away from another jump.

Jack Picozzi SS / 2B / North Penn, PA / 2023

Rankings StateRank: 204 / POS: 45

What to expect: The sweet-swinging lefty was a mainstay in North Penn’s HS lineup this past spring, situationally hitting and finding consistent barrels with good bat-to-ball skills. Obvious twitch and athleticism stand out in the box with mature movement patterns. The primary SS plays with pace and can pick it with a sure glove-hand.
What we'd like to see: Though the in-game quickness plays to his advantage, 7.27 60-yard times will need to continue coming down in order to stay at SS at the next level. All-in-all, he has the body (6-foot, 185lbs) and skillset to do so.

Timmy Bonin OF / 1B / Northern York, PA / 2023

Rankings StateRank: 120 / POS: 21

What to expect: Full of athleticism at 6-foot, 165lbs, the QB1/OF was an integral part of last year’s Northern York District III runner-up performance in the PIAA playoffs. The L/L is a tough out at the plate featuring a trusted approach and doesn’t strikeout often. With minimal swing/miss and a strong top-hand, he could be inserted into a leadoff role this upcoming Spring.
What we'd like to see: Additional strength would catapult already solid 88 mph exit-velocities upwards while an improvement to a current 7.40 60-yard time would make him more lucrative to scouts at the next level.

Noah Brandt OF / Pope John Paul II, PA / 2024

Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 6

What to expect: One of the best runners in the state’s 2024 class, he’ll have the chance to post the top 60-yard time at the Preseason All-State East. We’ve seen readings anywhere from the 6.55-6.73 range in the past two years with room to set a PR coming off a big winter of workouts. The footspeed translates to +average defensive qualities while the offensive skillset is still finding its way.
What we'd like to see: With known twitch that carries over to the plate, the right-handed hitter will need to translate it into more consistent bat-speeds/exit-velocities while improving power output. A leadoff hitter by nature, he could add an extra-base hit component and take his game to another level in 2022.
