Physical: Twitchy, upside 5-foot-11, 170lb frame with added strength. 6.68 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, shoulder-width stance, with good stretch in the load at footstrike. Utilized a leg-kick stride to initiate the swing through a flat, slightly rotational path into the hitting zone. Aggressive turn and burst available on the inner half; produced an improved T91 mph bat-exit velocity (84 mph AVG), working up to a 315 foot distance at his peak. Actions have carried over into HS season, driving a recent home run deep the pull-side. A top of the order prospect to watch in the class, arrow pointed upwards.
Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated above-average footwork on the approach with centerfielder intangibles. Solid reads off the bat in space and lets the athleticism take over. Fielded cleanly off his left side, set the hips, and released from a H ¾ slot (74 mph arm strength, accurate).
6/15/21
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 165lb frame with some added physicality since our last look. 6.73 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, slightly open stance with minor bend to the knees at an athletic start position; utilized a repeatable toe-tap stride with control on the forward move allowing for an accurate, flat path to be initiated into the hitting zone. Hit into a stiff front side, finishing high on the back shoulder with some rotation after impact; mostly pull-side approach during batting practice working his way up to a T85 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman. Top of the order profile working his way up to a 302 foot batted ball distance with developing abilities to hit for extra-bases (doubles/triples) to the gaps.
Defensively: The primary outfielder can slot into a CF role down the line with natural feel for his body in space and ability to go get the baseball in the air. Took mature routes, staying behind to start and then working downhill, using an accurate/soft glove hand funneling off the inside of the left foot with pace. An easy high ¾ slot with a moderate takeaway yielded consistent 73 mph throws to the target.
7/30/20
Physical: Lean / athletic 5-foot-10 ,140-pound frame with twitch in the movements and projectability in the build, room to add plenty of strength as he matures. Lightning-quick 6.55 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensively: RHH. Balanced, slightly open stance with the hands showing quick rhythm high next to the ear in the setup. Utilized a quick toe-tap stride to initiate a flat/slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Fluidity throughout the swing as the hands were able to find the barrel with consistency at the plate, demonstrated advanced feel for the lower half and stayed behind the ball repeatedly at contact in the posture. True top of the order projection with gap to gap prowess, and was able to pepper the LCF gap with hard barrels at the front of the plate. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 79 mph per Trackman Baseball with a 14.8% line drive rate. Defensively: The primary outfielder covered lots of ground on balls hit in the air, natural CF abilities that showed in space, quality drop step technique and ability to reach top speed in an instant, got downhill through the baseball while approaching off of the left side of his body with a soft glove hand. An accurate, high ¾ arm-slot allowed for consistent throws on the bag out of a medium arm circle. OF - 68 mph
