Preseason All State Preview

The Preseason All State has quickly become the premier Preseason event in the state of Florida. With 100 of the top players across the state schedule to attend, we look to preview some of the top players that will be attending while looking at some potential breakout candidates.

Top Ranked Players

The 2019 class will be represented by the top left-handed pitcher in the state, No 3 Hunter Barco, who will be making his first outing of the year at the event. Barco will throw to fellow Jacksonville native and fellow top prospect No 20 Nathan Hickey. Barco has run his fastball up to 95 mph and shown an true plus slider in the past, while Hickey has seen his stock rise after consistently performing offensively at a high level this fall. IMG Academy will be well represent as well with Jax Cash, William Bartlett and transfer Tommy Benson.

The 2020 class may be the most talented class currently in the high school ranks in Florida. The new No 1 overall prospect in the state Dylan Crews will be in attendance as well as fellow top outfield prospect, No 18 Brandon Fields. Crews is widely regarded as one of the top hitters in the country while Field’s, a two-sport commitment to South Carolina, is one of the highest celining athletes. LHP Luke Baker and OF AJ Shaver are also in the Top 50 and will be representing the talented 2020 class.

Corey Robinson, Jackson Baumeister and Renzo Gonzalez, who all come in the top 20 of the 2021 class will represent a deep and talented class. Robinson and Gonzalez are both athletic, high upside outfielders while Baumeister is a true two-way player with big time potential.

Finally, Brandon Barriera, Jordan Taylor, Ryan Fry and Evan Dobias are all in the top 10 and will be representing the class of 2022. All four are high upside arms, with Taylor being a two-way talent. Taylor is also committed to Florida State, Dobias recently committed to Virginia while Fry recently committed to Miami and Barriera are is uncommitted.

Overall, there are 39 committed players in attendance and all 100 players are high caliber players who are either currently ranked or will be players to look out for in upcoming updates.

Of the other 61 player that are currently uncommitted, there is a lot of talent to be on the lookout for to make big impacts.

Uncommitted players to Watch

 Andrew McGuckin, who was previously committed, is now available as well as Cal McCallum and John Urena are the top uncommitted seniors, both athletic outfielder with upside. Overall the 2020 class is again deep and talent with a lot of player still available. There are a lot of uncommitted 2020s who could make a big impact in the future and could be mentioned here, but a few stand out. Recently on the market after being committed is athletic outfielder Jalen Debose. Two-way player Logan Wash has a lot of true two way potential. Outfielder Corbin Grantham is a tow sport athlete with a lot of upside. Luke Hutacher and Joseph Casale have upside in the infield while a group of catchers in Travis Stapleton, Declan McDermott, Henry Politz, Stan Demartinis, Jonathan Santiago and more will be ones to watch. 2021 3B Brett Blair has been impressive and is ready to make a big jump with a lot of offensive upside. Jake Mummau and Damian Goulart are also infielders to watch from 2021 class. The freshman are talented and led by Barriera, but Connor Fosnow, Garret Mackowiak, Drake Harman, Dylan Bowen, Tanner Darley, Finn Howell and more will be ones to follow.
