St. Pete College commit. Athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds. Short arm action on and carry on throws to 2nd base and pop times of 2.0-2.1. Moves well laterally blocking and strong hands receiving. Balanced setup at the plate and short stride and strong lower half. Level bat path and gap to gap hitter with pull side power and above average bat speed with 87 exit velo.
6/02/19
Strong athletic build. Moves well laterally behind the plate. Clean transfer and strong arm on 1.95-2.0 pop time. Was impressive offensively as well. Has great barrel awareness and bat speed with an advanced approach. Good lower half and above average pop. Overall, really athletic and smooth actions.
2/11/19 - A strong 5-foot-11, 185 pounds. Defensively, he has very solid all around actions. Receives, blocks and throws well. Has a feel and confidence for the position. Could improve the footwork some, but throws were consistent in the 2.10-2.25 range. Offensively, he has a simple, compact and level swing. Showed the ability to consistently find the barrel and the path stays in the zone, with some natural loft, but mostly line drives from gap to gap. There is present strength and bat speed and showed and exit velocity of 87 mph. Will be a solid addition to a 2020 class in need of a catcher.
06/23/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds with an athletic frame. Behind the plate, he shows a natural feel to receive and play the position. Shows flexibility and the ability to keep the ball in front of him in the dirt. Accurate throws to the bag that topped out at 71 mph with pop times ranging in the 2.0-2.07 sec range. Offensively he shows some present bat speed with the ability to drive the ball when he is on time. Registered an 84 mph exit velocity in the cage. Had a hard line drive single to left field during gameplay.
06/03/18- Uncommitted, he has continued to fill out since the last time we saw him. He still has present twitchy athleticism and the athleticism translates well behind the plate, where he is a solid defender. Offensively, he has gap-to-gap power and the added strength helps. Fairly simple, level and compact.
11/05/17- The super utility player has a lot of functional twitchy athleticism. He is most intriguing behind the plate, where he is flexible with above average receiving skills. The arm will need to get stronger, but has the potential to be an above average defender. Offensively he stands tall and is simple. There is very little load and would like to see more separation and use of the lower half. There is bat to ball skills though with upside.
