PBR Florida All State Teams

With the 2019 High School season in the books, we want to look back at some of the top performers of this season. Today, we will unveil the PBR Florida High School All State First, Second, and Third teams, as well as some honorable mentions.
First Team
C Jacob Herbert (Sr.)
Herbert batted an eye-popping .600 in 104 plate appearances, helping lead George Jenkins to its second straight final four. Herbert would also drive in 41 runs while hitting 12 doubles with 4 home runs. He would also be taken in the 18th round by the Boston Red Sox.
1B William Sullivan (Sr.)
Sullivan would bat .534 for Dr. Phillips with 11 home runs and 13 doubles. Sullivan also added 36 RBI with 35 runs scored.
INF Anthony Nunez (Sr.)
Nunez hit .544 with 3 home runs and 8 doubles. He added 18 RBI and 34 runs helping Miami Springs reach the 6A State Final Four. Nunez was selected in the 29th round by the San Diego Padres.
INF William Bartlett (Sr.)
Bartlett hit .513 with 5 home runs for a 25-1 IMG team. He also added 8 doubles with 34 RBI and 27 runs scored. Bartlett would be drafted in the 9th round by the Cleveland Indians.
INF Brock Wilken (Jr.)
Wilken would hit .468 with a whopping 12 home runs and 6 doubles. He would add 26 RBI with 14 runs scored for Bloomingdale.
OF Ben Gilbert (Sr.)
Gilbert hit .506 with 1 home run and 13 doubles. He added 16 RBI and 27 runs scored. Gilbert was also a force on the mound producing a 5-0 record with a 0.93 ERA and 67 strikeouts.
OF Riley Greene (Sr.)
The 5th pick in the 2019 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers hit .422 with 8 home runs and 11 doubles. He would add 27 RBI and 38 runs scored. Greene led Hagerty to the 8A Regional Semifinals.
OF Grant McCray (Sr.)
McCray hit .477 with an eye-popping 10 triples, 3 home runs, and 8 doubles. He added 35 RBI and 30 runs scored for Lakewood Ranch. McCray would be taken in the 3rd round by the San Francisco Giants.
P Tyler Nesbitt (Sr.)
Nesbitt was a force on the mound for LaBelle. He pitched 55 innings with a record of 8-2 and a 1.15 ERA. He also struck out 95 batters on the season. Nesbitt threw 4 no-hitters on the season. Nesbitt would be selected in the 32nd round by the Colorado Rockies.
P Parker Messick (Sr.)
Messick led Plant City to the 8A State Title with an 11-1 record and a 1.06 ERA. He added a whopping 125 strikeouts and only 18 walks in 86 innings.
P Camden Minacci (Jr.)
Minacci helped lead Jesuit to the 6A State Title pitching to a 12-1 record with a 1.12 ERA. He would add 85 strikeouts and 25 walks in 62.2 innings pitched.
P Brennan Malone (Sr.)
An unbelievable year from Malone led him to an 11-0 record with 0.27 ERA. He only allowed two earned runs in 51 innings pitched. Malone also added 69 strikeouts and 14 walks. He would be selected with the 33rd pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Malone would defeat state champion Jesuit and state runner-ups Dunedin, Canterbury and Doral as well as a California runner-up La Miranda.
*P Matt Allen (Sr)
Allen would help lead Seminole to a 9A state title while being drafted in the 3rd round by the New York Mets. Allen would go 10-2 on the mound, striking out 130 in 70 innings pitched. Allen would throw four complete games with two shutouts in his 10 wins in 2019.
UTIL Jackson Miller (Jr.)
At the plate, Miller hit .464 with 2 home runs and 9 doubles for JW Mitchell. He added 32 RBI with 28 runs scored. On the mound, Miller posted a 9-1 record with a 0.67 ERA, allowing just 6 earned runs in 63 innings. He would also strikeout 81 batters and only walked 10.

Second Team
C Bennett Lee (Jr.)
Lee batted .442 with 3 home runs and 12 doubles. He added 19 RBI with 18 runs scored helping lead Jesuit to the 6A State Title.
1B Hunter Fitz-Gerald (Sr.)
Fitz-Gerald hit .515 with 9 home runs and 6 doubles. He collected 31 RBI and 21 runs scored. He helped lead Stoneman Douglas to the 9A Regional Semifinals. Fitz-Gerald was selected in the 33rd round by the Colorado Rockies.
INF Jake Fox (So.)
Fox hit .550 with 7 doubles and 15 stolen bases. His 44 hits, 19 RBI, and 31 runs scored helped lead Lakeland Christian to the 3A State Championship.
INF Josiah Miller (Sr.)
Miller hit .418 with 11 home runs and 8 doubles. He added 39 RBI and 35 runs scored. Miller helped lead North Florida Christian to the 3A State Semifinals.
INF Ethan Thompson (Sr.)
Thompson hit .432 with 8 home runs and 15 doubles. He collected 34 RBI and 24 runs scored for Santa Fe High School.
OF Taylor Buffington (Sr.)
Buffington hit .477 with 3 home runs, 8 doubles, and 9 triples. He would collect 23 RBI and 39 runs scored, with a whopping 26 stolen bases. Buffington helped lead George Jenkins to the 8A State Semifinals.
OF TJ Watts (Sr.)
Watts hit an eye-opening .593 with 8 home runs and 19 doubles. He collected 51 hits with 38 RBI and 40 runs scored for Randazzo High School.
OF Jason Norris (Sr.)
Norris hit .431 with 4 home runs and 5 doubles. He collected 30 RBI and 24 runs scored. Norris helped lead Maclay to the 3A Regional Semifinals.
P Dylan Eskew (Sr.)
Eskew threw 59 innings for Sickles allowing only 4 earned runs with 87 strikeouts. He had a 7-0 record with a 0.47 ERA walking only 11 batters on the season. Eskew was selected in the 24th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
P Brandon Walker (Sr.)
Walker pitched to an 8-2 record with a 1.00 ERA. He struck out 88 batters in 63 innings pitched. Walker helped lead North Florida Christian to the 3A State Semifinals.
P Nelson Berkwich (Jr.)
Berkwich pitched to a 10-0 record with a 0.45 ERA. He added 110 strikeouts in 62 innings walking only 8 batters. Berkwich helped lead American Heritage to the 4A State Championship Game.
P Nick Celidonio (Sr.)
Celidonio recorded a record of 12-1 with a 0.44 ERA. He threw 64.1 innings striking out 67 batters with 13 strikeouts. He helped lead Vero Beach to the 9A Regional Finals.
UTIL Chase Centala (Jr.)
On the mound, Centala pitched to a 7-1 record with a 1.47 ERA. He recorded 61 strikeouts and 11 walks in 38 innings pitched. At the plate, Centala hit .519 with 6 doubles. He also added 18 RBI and 10 runs scored for Sickles.
Third Team
C Pierce Chambers (Jr.)
Chambers helped lead Calvary Christian to the 4A State Championship by hitting .436 with 3 home runs and 5 doubles. He also recorded 29 RBI.
1B Jiovel Lantigua (Sr.)
Lantigua hit .412 with a whopping 13 home runs and 7 doubles. He added 44 RBI with 32 runs scored helping lead Springstead to the 9A Regional Quarterfinals.
INF Jimmy Thies (So.)
Thies batted .455 with 2 doubles and 15 hits. He added 7 RBI and 10 runs scored. He helped lead St. Thomas Aquinas to the 8A Regional Finals.
INF Christian Cairo (Sr.)
Cairo hit .451 with 4 home runs and 6 doubles. He added 24 RBI and 43 runs scored with a whopping 33 stolen bases. Cairo helped lead Calvary Christian to the 4A State Title. He was selected in the 4th round by the Cleveland Indians.
INF Caleb Rogers (So.)
Rogers batted .567 with 4 home runs and 11 doubles. He added 33 RBI and 28 runs scored with 11 stolen bases for Keswick Christian.
OF Gabriel Gutierrez (So.)
Gutierrez hit .427 with 8 home runs and 7 doubles. He recorded 37 RBI and 24 runs scored. Gutierrez helped lead Doral Academy to the 7A State Championship Game.
OF Jack Savery (Fr.)
Savery hit .500 with 3 triples and 3 doubles. He recorded 22 hits with 16 runs scored. Savery helped lead Oxbridge Academy to the 4A Regional Finals.
OF Patrick Romeri (Sr.)
Romeri hit .432 for the 25-1 IMG team. He added 2 home runs, 3 triples, and 6 doubles. Romeri also recorded 26 RBI with 22 runs scored. He was selected in the 12th round by the St. Louis Cardinals.
P Maxwell Martzolf (So.)
Martzolf pitched to a 6-1 record with a 0.17 ERA. He only allowed one earned run in 42.1 innings pitched. Martzolf also recorded 48 strikeouts leading Lincoln Park Academy to the 5A Regional Quarterfinals.
P Kevin Martin (Sr.)
Martin pitched to a 5-1 record with a 1.02 ERA. The recorded 61 strikeouts and 18 walks in 48 innings pitched. Martin helped lead Westminster Christian to the 4A Regional Semifinals.
P Jackson Baumeister (So.)
Baumeister pitched to a 7-1 record with a 0.00 ERA, allowing zero earned runs in 44 innings pitched. He struck out 82 and walked 10 in an effort to lead Bolles to the 5A Regional Semifinals.
P Nick Romagnola (Jr.)
Romagnola recorded a 9-1 record with a 1.30 ERA. In 53.2 innings pitched, he struck out 66 batters and walked 22. He helped lead Out-of-Door Academy to the 3A Regional Finals.
UTIL Major Posey (Sr.)
At the plate, Posey hit .450 with 3 home runs and 4 doubles. He also collected 26 RBI and 14 runs scored. On the mound, Posey posted a 5-1 record with a 1.75 ERA. He tallied 42 strikeouts and 9 walks in 36 innings pitched. Posey helped lead North Florida Christian to the 3A State Semifinals.
