OTHERS TO WATCH: With 22 players in the High School Draft 100, the Florida 2018 class is loaded with talent. Not only is there a bevy of high-end talent, there is depth in the class as well. SS Bryce Reagan (IMG Academy, FL) is very projectictable and rangy with a high ceiling. Playing on the same team as Alexander and alternating at short, there are a lot of teams that see the present hit tool with upside. SS Lency Delgado (Doral Academy Charter, FL) is a player on the rise. Playing shortstop in high school, he has a physically mature, strong frame and may be better suited at third base in the future. While he has always shown above average tools, the bat has made some big strides. He is cutting down on the swing and miss, helping to tap into his power. OF Robby Martin (Jefferson HS, FL), has a big, strong frame and a present hit tool with power potential from the left side. C Luca Tresh (Clearwater Central Catholic HS, FL) shows above-average defense while C Charlie Welch (Jefferson HS, FL) is a big, strong offensive catcher. RHPs Jack Anderson (Jesuit HS, FL), Christian Scott (Calvary Christian Academy, FL) and Saul Gonzalez (Montverde Academy, FL) all have upside. Finally, two guys who could go very well out of college if they don’t sign now are SS John Rodriguez (Stoneman Douglas HS, FL) and OF Brandon Schrepf (Gulf Breeze HS, FL). Rodriguez is an above average defender who can stick at short. There is present bat speed and power potential. Schrepf is a lean, powerful outfielder with bat-to-ball skills and natural loft that should create above average power in the future.
