The Top Prospect Games were held August 3rd and 4th at Historic Cherry Creek High School. 50 prospects were on hand to take part in a pro-style showcase followed by two days of games.

Top Prospect Games Infield Analysis
Chris Albee RHP / 3B / Arapahoe, CO / 2021Albee is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound, right-handed hitting infielder and pitcher in the 2021 class. He ran a 7.68 60 and posted an exit velocity of 72 mph. During hitting evaluations, Albee starts with an athletic stance, leg lift into his load, in line stride, quick hands, flat bat path, remains balanced throughout, showed pull side pop during his round. On the infield, he shows some athleticism, good side to side movements, fluid footwork, momentum towards target, high three-quarter release, strong arm with carry, positional velocity of 70 mph, accurate throws. On the mound, his motion is compact and fluid to the plate. From balance he falls in-line on his delivery. Arm stays over the top and his fastball sat 78-80 mph. Fastball snuck up on hitters with his fluid delivery. Curve had tight spin and 11/5 shape and was 58-60 mph.

Kyle Barkley 3B / SS / Cherry Creek, CO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 33 / POS: 2
Barkley has strong build at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and is a right-handed hitting infield prospect in the 2022 class. He ran a 7.89 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 86 mph. During batting practice, he starts in an athletic stance, leg lift into load, in line stride, quick bat, level bat path, show pop to the middle of the field during round. On the infield, showed athletic actions, moves well side to side, momentum towards target, high three quarter release, positional velocity of 82 mph, accurate throws.

Kaelen Bing 2B / OF / Cherokee Trail, CO / 2022Bing has a medium and athletic build at 5-foot-7, 130 pounds and is a left-handed hitting middle infielder from the 2022 class. At the event, he ran a 7.53 second 60. During hitting evaluations, he starts in an athletic stance, across the body stride, remains balanced throughout, uphill swing, showed gap-to-gap approach during round and some pull side pop. Exit velocity was 76 mph. Defensively, shows athletic actions on infield, quick movements side to side, momentum towards target, high three-quarter slot, positional velocity of 72 mph, mostly accurate throws.

Kyle Cahall 3B / RHP / legacy, CO / 2021Cahall is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound, right-handed hitting infielder and right handed pitcher in the 2021 class. At the event, he ran a 7.87 second 60. At the plate, Hunt starts with a balanced square stance, lower set up with hands, short and in line stride, leverages front side, quick hands, downhill bat path. Defensively, showed athletic actions on the infield, attacks the baseball, quick transfer to release, clean arm action, three-quarter release, positional velocity of 72 mph, accurate throws.

Aaron Carr 3B / RHP / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2022Carr has a bigger frame and physical build at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds. He is a right-handed hitting corner and right-handed pitcher in the 2022 class. At the event, he ran a 7.59 second 60, and posted an exit velocity of 85 mph. At the plate, he is balanced, in line stride, uphill bat path, showed some pop during batting practice. Defensively, good lateral movements, fluid footwork, quick catch to release, clean arm action, positional velocity of 76 mph, mostly accurate throws. Smooth and repeatable motion on the mound. Stays in-line through delivery with extension out front. Arm is loose and over the top. Fastball was 76-78 mph with run. Curve was a good secondary pitch at 65-67 mph with 11/5 shape.

Logan Cass SS / 2B / Legend , CO / 2021Rankings StateRank: 82 / POS: 19
Cass is an athletic 5-foot-6, 125-pound, middle infield prospect from the 2021 class. He ran a 7.79 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 72 mph. At the plate, quiet hands, longer and in line stride, leverages front side, works to get arms extended, showed primarily pull side contact with some lift. Defensively, good actions on the infield, showed ability for quick release, clean arm action, some carry to throws, accurate to target, positional velocity of 70 mph at the event.

Cale Claridge 1B / OF / Legacy High School, CO / 2021Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 1
Claridge has a large frame at 6-foot-2, 207-pounds and is a left-handed hitting first basement and left-handed pitcher in the 2021 class. At the plate, starts upright and wide, in line stride, quick hands, level bat path, showed hard contact off the bat and power to the gaps during round. Exit velocity was 77 mph. Defensively, quick off the bag, clean transfers, high three-quarter release, positional velocity of 85 mph, fairly accurate throws Repeatable motion and mechanics on the mound. Arm is over the top to high 3/4’s at times. Fastball runs away from the hitter and sat 79-81 mph. Added a 63-65 mph curve with tight rotation and 2/7 break in the zone.

Evan DiBenedetto RHP / 2B / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2021DiBenedetto is a 5-foot-11, 183-pound, right-handed hitting middle infield prospect and right-handed pitcher in the 2021 class. At the event, he ran a 7.7.53 second 60, and posted and exit velocity of 79 mph. During hitting evaluations, starts balanced, reverse toe tap to load, in line stride, quiet hands, level bat path, remains balanced throughout swing. Defensively, aggressive to the baseball, clean transfers, long arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velocity of 70 mph. Simple set up and motion on the mound. From balance he falls in-line to the plate and delivers from an over the top slot. Fastball sat73-75 mph with late run. He added a 61-63 mph curve with 11/5 shape and a 61-63 mph change at near fastball arm speed.

Gage Gaschler 3B / RHP / Rocky Mountain High School, CO / 2022Gaschler is a 5-foot-9, 145-pound, right-handed hitting infield prospect in Kansas 2022 recruiting class. He ran a 8.00 second 60 yard dash, and posted an exit velocity of 77 mph. During batting practice, he starts in an open position, big leg kick and load, in line stride, leverages front side, showed contact to all fields during round. Defensively, moves well side-to-side, clean transfers, three-quarter release, positional velocity of 74 mph, mostly accurate throws.

Stephen Goldsberry 3B / SS / Blue Valley West, KS / 2020Goldsberry is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound right hand hitting infielder and pitcher from the 2020 class. Wide stance at the plate with a big lift and place stride on the pitch. Swing is uphill with pull side power. Showcased an 83 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.40 60. In the field showed the ability to play three positions in the infield with good instincts and quick hand actions. Arm played at 72 mph. On the mound he fills the strike zone up. Does not over power with his sink and drive delivery, but both pitches are around the zone. Fastball was 72 mph with command in and out and his curve sat at 63 mph with sweeping 11/5 break.

Wyatt Hough 3B / RHP / Legend , CO / 2021Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 2
Hough is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound corner infield prospect and right-handed pitcher in the 2021 recruiting class. At the event, he ran a 7.03 second 60, and posted and exit velocity of 82 mph. At the plate, he showed some rhythm with hands, in line stride, level bat path, works to get arms extended, remains balanced throughout, showed line drive contact to the middle of the field during round. Defensively, showed some athleticism on the infield, quick to the baseball, clean transfers, momentum towards target, long arm, over the top release, positional velocity of 78 mph. Stretch pitcher only with a clean lift and driving action to the plate. Arm is over the top with good extension out front. Fastball had life and sat 82-84 mph. Curve was a good secondary pitch with tight spin and 11/5 shape and was 66-68 mph. Change had late sink and was 60-62 mph.

Xander Jarosh 3B / SS / Cheyenne Central , WY / 2022Jarosh is a 6-foot-1, 155-pound corner infield prospect for the 2022 recruiting class. At the event, he ran a 7.72 second 60, and posted and exit velocity of 74 mph. At the plate, Jarosh showed some rhythm with hands, in line stride, level bat path, works to get arms extended, remains balanced throughout, showed line drive contact to the middle of the field during round. Defensively, showed some athleticism on the infield, quick to the baseball, clean transfers, momentum towards target, long arm, over the top release, positional velocity of 68 mph

Evan Johnson 3B / RHP / Rocky Mountain , CO / 2021Johnson is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound right hand hitting infielder and pitcher in the 2021 class. Athletic and strong looking prospect who ran a 7.75 60 and recorded an 85 mph exit velocity during the live round. Stands balanced at the plate with a short load and strong weight transfer. Swing path is uphill and ball carries in the gaps. Solid footwork and fundamentals in the field. Soft hands and quick glove to hand transfer, arm was accurate across the field at 76 mph. Tall and fall delivery on the mound, arm is loose and whips through on the delivery. Arm is high ¾ arm slot and drops down at times. Fastball has run and lives 73-75 mph. Curve sweeps through the zone with tight spin and sat 63-64 and was thrown in any count.

Colin Montanez 3B / SS / ThunderRidge HIgh School, CO / 2021Montanez is a 5-foot-9, 145-pound, right-handed hitting middle infield prospect from the 2021 class. At the event, he ran a 7.25 second 60, and posted and exit velocity of 75 mph. During hitting evaluations, starts open, big leg trigger, in line stride, quiet hands, level bat path, remains balanced throughout swing. Defensively, aggressive to the baseball, clean transfers, long arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velocity of 71 mph, fairly accurate throws.

Corbin Murphy RHP / SS / Ogallala, NE / 2022Murphy is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound, right-handed hitting middle infield prospect and right-handed pitcher in the 2022 class. At the event, he ran a 7.56 second 60, and posted and exit velocity of 82 mph. During hitting evaluations, starts balanced, reverse toe tap to load, in line stride, quiet hands, level bat path, remains balanced throughout swing. Defensively, aggressive to the baseball, clean transfers, long arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velocity of 70 mph, fairly accurate throws. Works quickly on the mound from a drop and drive motion and over the top arm slot. Arm speed stays consistent. Fastball was 75-80 mph with good command and location. He was able to throw a 63-65 mph curve with 11/5 shape in any count for a strike.

Dorian Pacheco 3B / OF / Parker Lutheran, CO / 2022Pacheco has a stocky build at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds and is a right-handed hitting infielder and pitcher in 2022 class. At the event he ran a 7.38 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 89 mph. During batting practice, he shows an athletic and balanced swing, quiet load, in line stride, flat bat path, showed hard pull contact with lift during round. On the infield, he shows athletic actions, momentum towards target, clean arm action, positional velocity of 79 mph, accurate throws. Works quick on the mound with a drop and drive motion to the plate. Arm is over the top and is long and loose. Fastball was 75 mph with run and he added a 62-64 mph slurve with sweeping break and tight spin.

Hunter Rabourn 2B / 3B / Kelly walsh, WY / 2021Rabourn has a solid frame at 5-foot-7, 175-pounds, hits from the right side and plays 3rd base for the 2021 class. He ran an 8.10 60 and collected a 78 mph exit velocity at the Top Prospect Games. At the plate he stands open with a big leg trigger to come square. Hits off his back side with some pull side power. Moves well in the field, cuts the ball off in the hole and displayed a quick glove to hand transfer. Arm played at 70 mph with accuracy across the diamond.

Zander Reese LHP / 1B / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2022Reese has a projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds and is a left-handed hitting first base and left-handed pitcher in the 2022 class. He ran a 7..48 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 88 mph. During batting practice, Reese starts slightly open, lift and place load, in line stride, some rhythm with hands, showed some pop to left center field during round. On the infield, Reese shows his athleticism, fluid footwork, clean transfers, momentum towards target, positional velocity of 73 mph, very accurate throws. Drop and drive motion on the mound, lands in-line and stays square through delivery. Arm is loose and over the top. Fastball was an easy 82 mph with late run and his curve flashed tight spin at 67-69 mph with late 2/7 break.

Keaton Walker 3B / 1B / Cornerstone Christian Academy, CO / 2022Walker is a strong and physical 6-foot, 175-pound, right-handed hitting infielder / pitcher in the 2022 class. During batting practice, he showed a smooth swing with a big load, quiet hands, in line stride, leverages front side, contact during round was primarily to left and center field showing line drives and fly balls. Exit velocity was 77 mph and he ran a 7.31 60. Defensively, aggressive to the baseball, clean transfers, high three-quarter release, shorter arm action, positional velocity of 80 mph, accurate throws. On the mound he has room to grow and become more polished, arm is live and loose and fastball lived 75-78 mph with good command in on the hitters. Curve sat 65-67 mph with late 11/5 shape.

Tyler Whetsell 3B / RHP / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2022Whetsell is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound, right-handed hitting corner infielder and right-handed pitcher in the 2022 class. He ran a 7.98 second 60 and posted an 75 mph exit velocity. During batting practice, Whetsell showed a simple load, slight across the body stride, quick hands, leverages front side, inside out approach during round with hard contact. Defensively, soft hands, moves well for his size, glove tap into transfer, momentum towards target, high three-quarter release, long arm action, positional velocity of 71 mph, mostly accurate throws. Simple delivery on the mound from the stretch position. From balance he drops and drives to the plate with a long arm over the top. Good extension and an in-line finish. Fastball was 72 mph with straight life. Curveball sat 61-62 mph with sweeping 11/5 break.
