INF Winston Alonso (Reedsburg, 2026) features one of the smoothest swings in the Wisconsin ‘26 class. The Sophomore stands at a more filled out 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with athleticism to pair. During Sunday’s game, Alonso was all over the barrel, tallying two hits while working mostly to the middle of the field. He also showed quality actions around the infield with the ability to play the left side. Alonso is a must-watch bat come spring time. Currently ranked No. 9 in the state’s 2026 class.

At the plate, Alonso swings a twitchy left-handed bat that utilizes the entire field and despite playing against competition a year older, he finished the weekend with three hits, while taking a number of quality at-bats. Defensively, Alonso is an athletic mover at the shortstop position with sure-handedness and certainly looks the part of a lockdown defender at the next-level.

Alonso has a natural left-handed swing and he uses the entire field efficiently for a player his age. His robust bat-to-ball skills should develop nicely as he adds physicality to his 5-foot-11, 150-pound stature. He has a loose, dynamic barrel that syncs up pitches up and down the zone well. Alonso repeatedly took quality at-bats during The Rock 14U Summer Championships, all while holding down third base athletically, showing actions while on the move.

Projectable frame, sloped shoulders, sturdy lower half, hitterish look from left side, stays inside the baseball well, sees ball and makes adjustments, athletic runner with long strides once underway.  Sure handed defender, makes routine play and can make play on the run.
