Holmes is listed at 6-foot-3, has long limbs with projection left, and plenty of room to fill out. Short arm swing on the backside and works from a high three-quarter slot. When he came on in relief in the fifth it was really low effort to the fastball and that continued into the sixth inning. The fastball stayed 84-86 mph in the fifth and sixth innings with arm side run to the fastball. When he came back out in the seventh the effort maintained while he seemed to be able to grab some extra velocity when he wanted. Holmes was 85-87 in the seventh and grabbed two 88's. It was exclusively a fastball-changeup mix on Friday night with nice feel for the changeup. Was able to throw the changeup to both sides of the plate and mixed it in versus right-handed and left-handed hitters. Significant arm side run and sink to the changeup that stayed between 77-80 mph. Holmes is just starting to get back into game shape, as he just finished his high school football season, and it will be interesting to see how the Liberty commit trends over the next few weeks.

Holmes is 6-3 with a very lanky frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and slightly closed, lands closed with a slight fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 84-86, touching 88, with late boring armside run that gets a bit of sink as well. Curveball had good armspeed and was 73-74 with sharp hard 11/5 break to it, some shape present with a chance to be swing and miss. Change-up was 79-80 with good armspeed and hard late run.

Holmes is 6-3 with a lankier athletic frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open relaxed stance, strides on line, short load down and back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, showed a good approach using the whole field, strength at contact with some extension, has some power potential, exit velocity was 85. In the outfield, gets behind the ball and fields through it with above average hands, quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters slot, position velocity was 81. Ran a 7.34 60 yard dash.
