A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball

Shue is 5-11 with an athletic frame that has some projection left to it. Played third base in the game and was fine there. At the plate, hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, good lower half balance, keeps hands inside, short level line drive swing, showed ability to adjust to pitch mid-swing. Some power in his future as he continues to fill out.

Shue is 5-11 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. Hits from the right side from an open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, loads back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, uphill swing path, gets some extension through the ball, showed a good approach working primarily gap to gap, generates some loft to his pull side where he has some power, exit velocity was 86. Behind the plate, quick exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action, position velocity was 75 and pop times 2.07-2.29. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Receiving, works with knee down, works down to up and shows some sway. Ran a 7.51 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot, longer free arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and slightly closed, lands open with an athletic finish. Fastball was 78-81, with downward plane and some late armside run to it. Curveball was 65-67 with some armspeed and gradual 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 67-69 good armspeed and fade to it.
