Harris has a long projectable frame at 6-foot-2 frame with some proportional strength and room to add more. Harris got the start on the mound and I was excited to see how he has progressed. Has always been intriguing with his quick whippy arm and projection to the frame. Works with pace and intent to the delivery, quick whippy low three-quarter arm slot, and has some ceiling left on the mound. The fastball was 78-82 in his two innings of work and touched 83 twice. It was though when he was comfortable and cruising, especially from the full he was 81-82 pretty consistently, but when he was in the stretch and struggling for feel of the zone he was in the 78-80 range. The fastball showed significant arm side run at times and it showed it most when going to the arm side. The breaking ball had average feel for the zone at 68-70 mph and flashed some occasional late depth. When Harris was at his best is when everything moved together and he did not rush out away from the arm. Harris also had a strong showing at the plate for Glen Allen. Had three hits on the night including barreling up a 78 mph slider in the first inning for a single up the middle. The load and swing are pretty simple. Hands are set slightly away from the body, drop slightly on load, and shows hand and bat speed through the zone. Barrel stays in the zone through extension and does a really nice job using the middle of the field, working gap to gap. Intriguing 2023 that possesses the athleticism and physical features to warrant a close follow going forward.

Athletic frame at 6-foot, 170-pounds. Harris has some definite two-way potential. At the plate he started slightly open, leg kick to stride, and landed square. Hands displayed some rhythm and flow, uphill tilt to the bat path, and has an explosive lower half. Showed aggression in the swing with ability to drive the ball to all fields. Exit velocity was 84 mph. Defensively hands presented out front, low clean exchange, and a short quick arm from a low three-quarters slot across the infield at 81 mph. Really showed well on the mound. Quick pace delivery with a ton of intent. Down and out stride landing on line, full arm circle, and a ton of arm speed from a low three-quarter arm slot. Ran the fastball up to 83 mph, sitting at 82-83 the entire time. Fastball had plenty of late life to the arm side. Breaking ball was 69-70 with more of a 11/5 shape to it. Changeup had some arm speed and fade at 75-76 mph. The slider looked to be developing, but may have the most upside of any of the offspeed pitches. Was wipe-out at times, sitting 71-72 mph. The Glen Allen freshman shows a ton of potential as he continues to grow into the frame and should be fun to watch in the future.
