8/19/18 -

Home-1st: 4.72, Position Velocity:  IF-81, Exit Velocity: 84
6-foot-0, 195-pound, RHH committed to UT-Martin shortly after the event.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, some upper half projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into leg kick and deep hand load.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  Was getting deep into his load, creating a near arm bar and some stiffness through the zone.  Barrel feel w/ no swing and miss on 10 swings.  Pull oriented approach w/ lot of line drives when right.  Projectable pull power.  Defensively, shows soft hands w/ carry to target arm strength.  Tools to be an above average defender at 3B.  Appeared tired at this event, as tools did not play as loudly as they did this spring into the early part of the summer.

7/5/17 - 60 Time: 7.64, Position Velocity:  IF-80, Exit Velocity: 82
6-0, 195-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and even stance with some relaxed posture, uses a shorter stride and a movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half works but sometimes glides and causes him to jump at the ball, creates good bat speed through the zone with a flat to slightly uphill bat bath through contact, likes to pull the ball and showed gap power with a chance to develop more.  Defensively, short good hands and footwork around the bag, able to make all of the plays required and showed good arm strength across the infield.

Max FB: 83, FB: 80-83, CB: 66-68
6-0, 195-pound, RHP uses a pretty steady and consistent motion, moves into a higher leg lift and maintains some more upright posture, creates a good amount of shoulder tilt before descending upon the plate with a longer arm action through an over-the-top slot, strides in line and finishes under control.  Fastball was straight but thrown for strikes and his curveball showed 12/6 shape through the zone.

1/16/17 - Max FB: 81, FB: 80-81, CB: 65-67, CH: 70-74,
5-foot-11, 195-pound, RHP threw exclusively out of the stretch and remained under control with a simple and very repeatable delivery, higher leg lift brings his hands up and down in connection with his lower half engagement, creates some slight shoulder tilt before heading home, strides and lands mostly in line and finishes in a solid position, arm action is longer through an over-the-top slot.  Fastball is straight, curveball showed 12/6 shape with some sporadic bite, changeup is mostly straight with some fade at the plate.

1/16/17 - 60 Time: 7.85, Position Velocity:  IF-80, Exit Velocity: 86
5-foot-11, 195-pound, RHH hits from a wider and athletic stance with even alignment, uses a short stride and an almost sudden movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half fires but brings his body forward and doesn’t quite get his hips through in time to create solid separation, bat path can begin a little steep but quickly flattens out through contact with some occasional lift, goes and gets the ball and showed an up-the-middle approach in BP.  Defensively, showed above-average hands and good footwork around the bag, moves well and played through the ball efficiently, exchange was usually clean and helped produce a shorter arm action through an over-the-top slot.

1/18/16 - 5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitter hits from a balanced and upright stance and uses a short stride and pushes his hands back to constitute his load, does okay with his lower half, gets out over his front foot at times which causes occasional stiffness, showed a 71 mph exit velocity off the tee.  Ran an improved 7.88 60-yard dash and played a very solid 1B.  Steady hands and good maneuverability around the bag are certainly positives in Jones’ game, uses a clean exchange and long arm action from a high-3/4 arm action to produce a 76 mph position velocity across the infield (74 at previous event).  As he matures, Jones could show improvements in a lot of areas that would make him very intriguing as the young player has a solid foundation to work from.

8/16/15 - The 5 foot 10, 165-pound prospect posted an 8.06 60 time and had a 74 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively, Jones shows good hands with average footwork around the bag. Offensively, Jones has average bat speed from the right side and had a 77 mph exit velocity off the tee. Jones hits from a balanced setup, can get more consistent involvement from lower half, gets to front side early at times, Jones is a line drive type hitter with a pull approach and went 2-for-5 during game play. On the mound, the 5-foot-10, 165-pound righty throws from a high-¾ arm angle with shorter arm action. Fastball sat from 71-73mph with consistent running action. Curveball seemed to be his best pitch with 12/6 break and some depth.  Curveball sat from 59-60mph and changeup from 66-67mph with some fade and sinking action.  Jones threw one inning giving up one hit and no runs.
