On August 19^th, Western Kentucky hosted a Border Battle of unsigned seniors between Kentucky and Tennessee.  This event included a position player workout, followed by pitchers throwing live in game. Players were afforded the opportunity to showcase their abilities in front of the PBR Tennessee staff and college coaches in attendance. The following is a look at the top statistical performances from the event.

TOP PITCHING VELOCITIES 

88 – Will Crain, RHP, Stewart County, 2019
87 – Will Mabrey, LHP, Upperman, 2019

- Crain, a 6-1, 185-pound righty showed similarly to his outing this spring, pitching consistent 84-88 with life.  Showed ability to pitch with some intent to both corners with his FB.  Not just a straight offering, his FB showed heavy sink at times and heavy cutting action at other times, helping him to 4 strikeouts in 2 innings.

- Dubose, a 6-0, 173-pound catcher continued to show off the strides he has made offensively in the past year.  Generating easy bat speed through the zone, the catcher had a strong round of BP and picked up a hit in game.  Also a standout defender, he recorded the top pop time at the event while showcasing the top arm strength behind the plate at 81 miles per hour.

- McLain, a 5-10, 170-pound OF showed off his intriguing tools, highlighted by the top OF velocity.  Jumping out with a 91-exit velocity and the top run time of 4.38, the outfielder showed a lot of tools and the skill profile to stay in CF.

- 4 different players posted 81 mile per hour velocities across the diamond.  Elkins showed off his arm strength on the mound as well, featuring a FB up to 84 with feel for two secondary pitches.  Jackson picked up a hit in game while showing versatility to help in a corner OF spot as well.  Jones picked up a double in game while showing soft hands at 3B.  Rheinecker was the lone middle infielder to get to the 81 mark and showed good actions w/ soft hands while showing off a patient approach in game, collecting 4 walks.

-  Wilson, a 6-0, 180-pound two-way player showed off his arm strength and athleticism behind the plate.  On the mound, the righty worked up to 86 while flashing a tight CB.  Defensively, the catcher moved well behind the plate with easy arm strength and solid footwork.  He also stood out for how vocal he was in the dugout and the leadership he showed on the field.

- Fergusson and Dingess stood out for running the 2^nd fastest home to first times, both clocking in at 4.41.  Fergusson stands out for his CF defensive tools, showing good bat reads while collecting two doubles in game.  Dingess showed middle infield tools, featuring soft hands and a quick release w/ more arm strength than the IF velocity showed while collecting a hit in game.
