Pitching in the TX-NM JC All-Star Game this past fall, Wilson showed a very quick arm that produced a 91-96 mph heater with tail and sink. The 6-foot, 205-pound righty has a feel for two distinct breaking balls: a hard 83-86 mph slider with tight rotation and late diving action, and a sharp downer curve at 78-79 that he spins well, imparting late bite. In addition to his potential for developing three plus pitches, Wilson also stands out for his competitive demeanor on the mound.

Can get stronger with his glove-side, tends to just be along for the ride. Wind-mill type action with high glove to draw the hitter’s eye, hides the ball. Angle w/ downhill plane. FB shows arm-side run w/ occasional sinking life. Shows occasional short cut at other times. Tight medium downer CB shows potential. Struggled to get arm on time to pull the pitch down and create the rotation. Has a chance to be a put-away pitch when on time. Around the zone w/ the FB, developing with the CB. Flashes ability to stay on line through the zone and drive the baseball, can also get off balance and create an overly rotational swing leading to a pull heavy approach. Lot of moving parts offensively presents some timing issues. Pull oriented approach w/ line drives when right. Projectable pull power type. Intriguing athlete gets to top speed quickly, shows ability to be a slightly above average runner. Stood out defensively, presents a quality low target at times, can set it late at others. Shows ability to get under the baseball and present balls as strikes. Moves well behind the plate, shows ability to box the baseball.
