The right-handed hitter drove baseballs with authority during batting practice from a square stance with a leg lift stride. Duran shows gap to gap power potential and flashed an 86 mph bat exit velocity. He showcased athletic actions defensively with an accurate arm during defensive evaluations. Duran's physical size, foot speed and potential to drive in runs makes him an interesting follow leading into the fall of his senior year.
7/20/14 Duran is a physical 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitter that showcased the ability to drive both gaps with a leg lift stride from a square stance. The junior barreled the baseball consistently to all fields during a solid round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Duran displayed an accurate 81 mph arm from the outfield with a bit of a short-arm delivery and ran a 6.96 60-yard dash.
6/18/14 Duran excelled in all facets of the game over two days. The physical 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitter showed legitimate pop from a square stance during his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Duran ran a 6.77 60-yard dash and displayed athletic actions in the outfield with an 84 mph arm. Although he went hitless in five trips to the plate during game play, Duran squared two baseballs for hard line drive outs.
1/20/14 Duran ran a 7.41 60-yard dash displayed an accurate 76 mph throwing arm from the outfield. The 6-foot, 185-pound junior has a very athletic frame and could increase his arm strength by lengthening his throwing motion. Duran showcased an 83 mph bat exit velocity and took one of the top rounds of batting practice at the event. The right-handed hitter hits from a square stance with a very quiet, balanced approach. He barreled the baseball routinely and the baseball jumped off his bat head.
