Dobie commits to Dayton University as a 2021 graduate after standing out to the Flyers at the Future Games in Georgia this past August. The left-handed hitting infielder has smooth actions on the infield with the ability to play both positions on the left side with soft hands and enough arm strength to get it done. At the plate, it’s a balanced setup with feel and athleticism in the box. There is hit tool to work with and there will be more power to come as he adds strength to his 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. Dobie is a nice pick up as the victory lap will give him extra time to become physical and have a good chance to contribute right away once he steps on campus.

6-foot-2, 175-pounds, slim frame, equally proportioned, projects to add some strength. Moves well at shortstop, feel for the position, clean actions, he stays down and gathers himself well, he will make the routine play. Quick release on throws, didn't see him gear up and let it loose, 76 mph arm strength on this day with more in the tank. Quiet swing with little movement in lower half, does not try to do too much, let's his hands work, stays through the zone, line-drive stroke, potential for pull-side power with physical development as there's bat speed with a smooth slightly uphill bat path. Uncommitted 2021 who is a steady player with more ability on the defensive side of the ball.

Dobie is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound infielder from 2020 class with size and a frame to add strength. Left-handed bat with slightly downhill path. Showed a relaxed stance and gets into launch position early. Feel for the barrel and moved the ball around the field with an easy swing and gap to gap power. In the infield, hands work and confident with glove, moves well side to side and should see increase in foot speed as he gets older. Arm was clean with a velocity of 76 across the diamond, more to come as he matures. Lots of upside and stuff to like for Dobie. Will be one to watch as we go forward.
