A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
A strong build at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance with loose hands. Quick direct path to the baseball. Displayed hard consistent contact during the hitting portion. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Gets good extension after point of contact. Exit velocity was 87 MPH. Defensively- the infielder displayed active footwork. Fields the baseball in an upright position. Above average exchange and quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot. The top throwing velocity across the diamond was 78 MPH. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery. Displayed short arm action and feel for two pitch mix. FB peaked at 82 MPH and ranged from 80-82 MPH. CB is tight and ranged from 68-70 MPH. The 2020 graduate is a must follow. The strong build will only help with the development going forward.

Developed frame at 5-foot-11, 190-pounds. Ran a 7.70 60 yard dash. Offensively – Sets-up in a narrow stance, square to the pitcher. Uses a quick, short stride into a toe-tap for his load. Showed the ability to consistently find barrel during BP. Hands worked down to the ball and showed some quickness. Hits against a firm front side. High, 2-handed finish. Exit velocity was 84 MPH. Defensively – Efficient footwork around the bag at 3B. Stays under control while moving laterally. Funnels and exchanges the ball quickly. Short, compact arm action. High ¾ release on throws. Arm strength was 76 MPH. Pitching – Simple, balanced delivery with deliberate tempo. Slight crouch in posture as he gets into leg lift. Creates some cross action with his stride. Hides ball with compact arm action before getting to high ¾ release. Upright, balanced finish. FB topped at 80 MPH and sat 76-79 MPH. CB showed consistent 11/5 shape at 70-72 MPH.

July 31, 2018 - St. Bonaventure Easy pace to the delivery, high knee lift, lands slightly closed, arm-action is back and short, quick out in front, fastball sits 77-78 mph, CB sat 70-71 mph, CH was 75 with arm-side fade.
7/15/18
Started and pitched four innings. Touched 81, sat in the high 70s. His breaking ball always was around 70, but varied between a loopier curve motion and more horizontal slider motion. Liked throwing a frontdoor curveball to lefties. Demonstrated control of changeup as well; it moved straight down. At the plate, was pull happy. Top hand kept pulling off and hitting balls foul toward third base coach.

Leibert has a tall, thick frame with short arm action coming through a ¾ arm slot. He tends to throw across his body due to his plant foot closing his lower body off but was still able to throw a fastball at 78-79 mph with late life and some run. His curveball showed good depth to it at 69-71 mph and broke on a 12/6 plane. His changeup was hard but had good arm side movement at 75 mph. With the velocity on his offspeed pitches, Leibert shows all the signs of having plenty of room to grow as he matures and figures out his lower half mechanics. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Simple loud with a balanced launch. Quick, compact stroke with some power behind it. Strength is top tools but bat speed isn’t very far behind. Natural loft allows him to lift without sacrificing bat speed. Swing is unique but the raw power is for real. 60-yard dash: 7.76 Infield Velocity: 78 Exit Velocity: 86

WNY All-Star Games (September 24, 2017)
Leibert stands 5-foot-10, 175-pounds with a thicker lower half. He uses a simple tempo to his delivery, high knee lift, hands stay high and away from his body. He stays slightly crouched over his balance point as he powers forward, arm-action is straight back, medium arm length, releases from a high-3/4 slot. Fastball peaked at 79 mph with some natural sink. Curveball sat 70-72 mph with early 10-5 shape with feel for command. Overall, a little more length in his stride and a longer arm-action could help with additional velocity gains as he matures. Still only a Sophomore, Leibert will be an arm to watch for come this spring and summer.
