Week two of our All-Star Game series takes us to the Basket Rd Complex in Webster, NY.  The morning session will kick off at 9am (8:15am check-in) with a traditional showcase until 10:30am. A live scrimmage game will run roughly from 10:45am-12:45pm.

The afternoon session will a 12:45 start (12noon check-in) with the showcase running to about 2pm. Structured scrimmage will run roughly 2:15-4:15pm.

Corner Infielders

Jonathan Haines 1B / RHP / Arkport , NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 133 / POS: 7 Hard hitting right-handed first-baseman; has put up a 95 MPH exit velocity in the past and it carries over to the field. Consistently works in the 77-78 MPH range on the mound with feel.

 

 

Hudson Bockmier LHP / 1B / Pittsford Mendon, NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 372 / POS: 25 Strong 6-foot-1 200 pound frame with a balanced approach from the left side. Clean hands at 1B, moving well around the bag. Also works in the 78-79 range on the bump with a low 60's CB.

 

 

Cameron Zurat 1B / 3B / Williamsville North , NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 261 / POS: 14 Well put together at 6-foot-3 175 pounds; spread stance with a short stride; repeates efforts with a line drive stroke that works the middle of the field. Steady defender who gathers himself well on groundballs.

 

 

Jake Veniskey 3B / C / Webster Thomas, NY / 2020 Strong lower half at 6-foot-195 pounds; right-handed hitter with aggressive hacks in the zone. Low to the ground approach at the hot corner with an accurate arm across the diamond.

 

 

Troy Leibert RHP / 3B / Brockport , NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 109 / POS: 36 Filled out frame at 5-foot-11 190 pounds; slightly closed setup with some spring action during his timing; shows some drive to his pull side. Arm works from 3B, up to 78 MPH across the diamond. On the mound Leibert throws a heavy ball in the 77-80 MPH range with feel for a CB and change. Excited to see him once again.

 

 

Trey Swartz 1B / OF / Fredonia , NY / 2019 Recently attended the Campus Series event at St. Bonaventure. Strong build at 6-foot-0 210 pounds. Bat stays in the zone with some lift to his pull side. The 1B bats right-handed and throws lefty; athletic actions around the bag with a respectable/accurate arm to start the front end of double plays.

 

 

Caden Hann RHP / 1B / Webster Thomas, NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 329 / POS: 82 Last Hann in August of 2017 in Oswego and he made our Scout Blog this summer. 6-foot-4 190 pound right-handed hitting 1B; flashed some abilities both as a position player and pitcher. Looking forward to seeing him have a break out event.

 

 

Anthony Roides LHP / 1B / Fairport, NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 240 / POS: 17 Solid 5-foot-10 210 pound right-handed hitting/left-handed throwing 1B/P. Hits from a deep setup; controlled aggression through the zone with some juice to his pull side. mOves well around the bag with a strong arm at 1B. Over the top/down hill action to his FB at 79-82 MPH back in July at St. Bonaventure. Potential dual prospect at the right program.

 

 

Tyler Staffieri RHP / 3B / Fairport, NY / 2019 Athletic 6-foot-1 180 pound build; shows some range to his glove side from 3B. Toe-tap approach at the plate with a line drive approach. Long and loose arm action on the mound working in the 77-79 MPH range on the mound. Has also showed ability in the outfield as well.

 

 

Andrew Gault RHP / 3B / Lockport, NY / 2020 Strong 3B who has no panic to his game. Showed well at out Campus Series-Niagara event and then again at the East West Battle in Cortland. Strong 6-foot-2 195 pound build with some bat speed through the zone; future power potential is there. Looking forward to having him back once again.

 

 

Xander Burch LHP / 1B / Thomas A. Edison, NY / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 9 / POS: 1 Free and easy actions at the plate; repeats with line drive results; athletic around the bag, can play the position in a higher gear. Arm strength, athleticism and build may lead him to an OF spot as well. High end prospect on the mound as well touching 83 MPH back in July with an uptempo delivery and down action CB. Change up shows late fade.

 

 

Ethan Hurwitz 3B / 1B / Pittsford Sutherland, NY / 2021 5-foot-10 175 pound right-handed hitter; limited stride , balanced approach at the plate. Showed accurate arm across the diamond under tough conditions at St. John Fisher back in August.

 

 

Mathew Kerchenski 3B / 1B / Niagara Falls, NY / 2020 Full build at 5-foot-11 215 pounds, the right-handed hitting 3B showed sine lift in his swing to the pull side. Worked through some tough conditions back in August at St. John Fisher for his defensive workout.

 

 

Josh Ferris 1B / RHP / Churchville Chili, NY / 2020 Proportioned 6-foot-1 190 pound R/R first baseman with a short stroke that stays in the zone. Steady defender around the bag. Last saw back in February, excited to see his progress.

 

 

Chris Sleeper RHP / 3B / Rush Henrietta, NY / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 29 / POS: 4 Impressive efforts at the Salt City Battle this summer, earning himself a spot in our Scout Blog. Athletic 6-foot-1 175 pounds; shows consistent left side actions with and arm that will keep him over there. Really swing it well back in June and was 80-82 on the mound with a sharp slider like breaking ball in the upper 60's.

 

 

Rob Wing 3B / OF / Penfield , NY / 2022 5-foot-11 R/R 3B; uses an up-down leg kick and has a flat path through the zone. Handled himself well defensively under tough conditions back in August at St. John Fisher's Campus series.
