2.18.19 A physical 6-foot-2, 220 pounds. Ran an 8.04 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with feet shoulder width apart. Quiet hands with a simple load before attacking the hitting zone. Quick to the hitting zone, will tend to reach the point of contact, and gets full extension with a one hand finish. Exit velocity was 75 MPH. Defensively- Smooth actions, displayed soft hands with a quick transfer to a ¾ arm action. Follows accurate throws across the infield at 70 MPH. Pitching- Works mainly from the stretch, smooth repeatable mechanics, drives downhill from the balanced point with weight on the backside. Throws from a ¾ arm slot with good command of the FB which peaked at 72 MPH and a CB with late break at 63- 64 MPH. The 2020 graduate has to the size to increase the number before going on to the next level.
WNY ASG (September 23, 2018)
Strong, stocky build at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds. Ran a 8.19 60 yard dash. Offensively - Balanced, relaxed set- up. Square to the pitcher with slight knee bend. Quick forward stride. Showed consistent line-drive contact during BP. Simple, direct swing. Balanced, one-handed finish. Exit velocity was 68 MPH. Defensively - Moves laterally with balance. Quiet, efficient footwork moving around the bag. Funnels ball with a soft glove hand. Loose arm action from 3/4 slot. Arm strength was 64 MPH. Pitching - Worked exclusively out of the stretch. Maintains balance at leg lift. Short stride with consistent direction towards target. Quick, compact arm action. High 3/4 release on all offerings. FB topped at 68 MPH and sat mostly 65-67 MPH. Also flashed a downer CB at 55-58 MPH and a feel for his CH at 56-57 MPH.
July 2018
A very smooth picker of the ball in the dirt at first. Works his glove through the ball really well and clean. Righty at the plate, big strong kid worked one at bat to 0-2 before lining a ball back through the middle. Found the barrel well all day.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
At the plate, setup is wide hands relaxed near shoulder height, Compact and short to the ball upper half leans in over the plate creating an uphill plane with his Barrel, 75 mph exit velocity off a tee but expect that number to rise as he gets stronger. Defensively, choppy footwork around the bag, gets his body behind the ball, glove to hand transfer from a high 3/4 slot, infield arm strength at 68 mph across the diamond. on the mound he uses a simple Pace to his delivery, medium-length to his stride, throws from a high 3/4 slot with the mid-70s fastball on one plane. he also throws a 64 - 65 mph curveball.
